Hey guys, just an idea for a control priest deck where it tries to take advantage of the new Kazakusan "nerf". Might be a bit ambitious due to how bad priest is right now, but I'd imagine this could be semi-playable.... any thoughts and/or feedback is appreciated, encouraged even. Let's make something cool.
A couple cards I've considered:
Taelan - (Easier Kazakusan, but I'm complete sold on blackwater behemoth in any control priest so it conflicts. Might be better in a deck that really tries to rush Kazakusan out. Also might be fine even with 2 8 drops.
Zola - Could be fun to try and get a copy of Kazakusan, granted the mana doesn't line up well. I think it'd probably be good in a deck with better targets, perhaps some deathrattle variation with mida and korrak. Still an extra xyrella or samuro doesn't sound too bad either.
Onyxian Warder - I've never used this card so I'm a bit curious how impactful it is.... could be good.
Whirlpool - I've used this a bit in a different control priest I've been playing. Overall I think it's a good card... pretty tight fit though since it is situational.
Brewmaster (Sorta) - Similar to zola, problem is bouncing an 8 mana card back sounds like death. It'd probably only be helpful vs some crazy control warrior deck something. Doesn't seem practical to me.
**Also switcharoo might be a good option as well, but it could screw up the undying disciple/samuro bless combo
If you have any other ideas for cards that could be interesting let me know, thanks
This is was a deck I’ve wanted to try as well however I went the Reno quest kas route if you wanted to run your list you should definitely work on it a bit I don’t think blademaster is worth using same with bless. No light bomb is also a bad idea considering it’s basically your best board clear no mutanus is also questionable as well considering it’s the only counter to quest decks and pirate warriors. Light maw looks too inconsistent with your 1 shadow spell as well. However I love the concept of the deck
Very odd card choices. Against all odds instead of lightbomb, disciple with no deathrattle synergy, xyrella with only two heals, cornelius and azure drake as draw instead of the overpowered 3-mana naga, etc. It seems as just a bunch of cards thrown together with no concern for what is powerful or has synergy.
I do like the Bless + Samuro though, very interesting.
Thanks for the feedback, I've already made some changes just testing the core in casual. I took out Amalgam for some devouring plagues, and i'm gonna scratch Cornelius for something else. The plagues should help lightmaw, I was mostly relying on discovering a shadow spell through scorpid or pandaren. Personally I love bless with samuro and Disciples, it's been super clutch in my experience running those in my other control priest deck. The issue i have with lightbomb right now is the amount of divine shield out there, it's pretty difficult to rely on. Also nowadays most minions seem to have more health than attack. Mutanus might be a really good addition in place of Cornelius, assuming I won't need some sort of draw. Thanks again for your input

Thanks for your feedback. Azure drake is due to having to play 4 dragons to make kazakusan work, along with the twilight drakes. I've already decided to scrap cornelius, I forgot how much he draws it's a bit too much. Might be a good idea to throw in the 3 mana naga in his place, I haven't tried that card yet. Bless also synergizes with disciple very well, plus I think disciple is just a very good card in general in the current meta. I've also added 2 devouring plagues which will help make xyrella easier to use, (plus can we can discover heals). In my experience there's just too much divine shield and minions with more health than attack to make lightbomb worth it. I think I'll try out that naga though, I'm just hoping playing 3 spells wont be too much of an issue. Thanks again

Sorry off the topic. But I think paladin is more fitting for kazakusan as they just need to play 2 dragons ie. Bronze warden
