My issue is opposite. I am not talking about the general situation in HS now, but the approach.
In general I would like to not see any balance changes after the releases. Game is out and it should be already tested. This approach is frustrating, why have we to always wait adjustments for something that should be already developed.
And also this cause me a lot of delays in playing this game.
After every release I have always to wait the first balance changes to craft something because I already know that they will nerf everything in the first 1-2 weeks, than I have to wait the new meta and at this point I can craft. So, I have to wait nearly one month or more every time to craft something. Is this possible? Can team 5 simply test and stop this bullshit nonsense? They have to test not us.
It's easier to scale back the power of a card then it is the buff it.
:) I don't care what it is easier for them. I care about the result and it is terrible. I cannot and people cannot wait always more than one month to craft things because Blizz nerfs everything when they want. They sold expansions for the price of a Triple-A game and they even check the easier way to develop with less effort (with no care about the consumers)? What a fantastic world is this.
You have no clue how the real world works - just gonna flat out say it.
HS team is hypothetically 100 people playing and testing. Compare that to the rest of the world with thousands/millions of people playing the game and essentially testing it out. Internal testing cannot catch every scenario the public will find. This goes with anything software related - not just friggin HS. Open your eyes.
You have to wait for adjustments because they need data to prove there is a problem and not just a reddit post saying X card is broken. Reality (read: data) may show otherwise. If they nerf cards, they have to refund dust. That's not a financially sound business model so they want to make absolutely sure nerfs need to take place. Lets also not forget there are typically big tournaments that happen after launch and pros need to get decks ready. How are they supposed to do that with nerfs/buffs to make you happy right after the launch? Open your eyes.
These "delays" in balance cause you delays in playing the game? Sorry, the game isnt created just for you. Open your eyes.
Your last paragraph is a big face palm. "They will nerf everything in the first 1-2 weeks" exaggeration to make you sound dramatic - check. The rest is just the limitations of F2P - you are not alone in this boat but not everyone makes a whiny post. Open your eyes.
I may have been short with you but ignorance on your level is frustrating to deal with. You can only be young and naive with what you've said and, well, I hope you "Open your eyes" after this.
Edit: didnt touch on your reply but I'll spare you my thoughts. I'm not that mean.

And if they release cards that are underpowered, people will complain and use your same complaint 'They sold this bad, weak set and I played Triple-A Game Price for it'. No one wants another Rastakhan's Rumble. Or I guess they could buff cards that are weak and completely throw off the power level of the game like they did in the past, at which point people will complain for a nerf to it. I guess in the end, people will be like you and complain no matter what they do, because there is no such thing as a perfect game or perfect balance in a card game.
This is not the issue. Sure that I don't want another Rastakhan's Rumble. I am complaining that inside a costs of a Triple-A game they are not able to find the money to test everything and to release expansions already developed. Kind of crazy don't you think?
I mean. Let's make an example with a random new Triple-A game, Elden Ring. What was the cost of developing this game? I don't know, but very high, you need to write the plot, dialogues ,develop all characters, all spells, all equipment etc... The development of this game starts in 2017 so it is 5 years of development. What is the price of this game? 59,99€ or 79,99€.
What is it the cost of developing a new expansion of HS? Pretty low, you need an idea, some card designer, some voices and that's it. We have 4 expansions per year so arguably, it is 4 months of development. What is the price of a new expansion? 49,99€ or 79,99€.
And HS is not even fully developed and we have always need to wait the nerfs? I mean something crazy don't you think?
I am not talking about if Elden Ring is better than HS or not. What makes me mad is the low value that Blizz is creating with these things that are obviously made for cash cow. Because it is obvious that the cost of testing and increasing the quality of the new expansions can be included in order to cover their expenses, but it seems that Blizz prefers to cut this cost in order to increase profit. But this is only a strategy that can works in the short term, because then people starts to complain and to say WTF have I always to wait one month (for the nerfs and for the new meta to set up) in order to play this stupid game?
I respect the effort that this small team puts into the game
Yeah... no, just look at Priest and Warlock in standard.
According to the highly probable Vicious Syndicate hypothesis, Curse Warlock is garbage now, because he was preemptively nerfed during the development process, in the very last moment before the expansion release. And that's because they figured out that playing against this deck is not fun, so they decided to kill it before it becomes a problem. That sounds very reasonable, but Team 5 itself claims to design cards months ahead, so how could they fail to see that earlier having so much time? It's only damn 5 cards! On top of that, why do they keep giving Warlock such cards (designed around disruption, fatigue and so on) when they know exactly that nobody likes it and each time class eventually gets nerfed and becomes unplayable trash?
Is it just incompetence or an intentional, cynical calculation?
Yes, this is the main issue. The people that believe that everything is fine or we have not to complain because the team is small or we have not to complain because there is no way or time to test everything before the release.
This is bullshit. Let's face the reality, what is the real effort to keep in balance a few cards before the expansion, very low. It is not rocket science, we have whole games in balance and HS is not able to keep in balance 100 stupid cards?
HS generates and generated a lot of revenue in the past and today (even though we are very far from the previous standards).
So my answer is simple if they are not able to deal with this "rocket science in keeping the game in balance" they can increase the team, and they can do more tests.
Everything must be settled before the release, there are no excuses.

no because it is part of their business strategy. They know that most people will craft the first week or two. Then they can quickly nerf the decks and force them to build new ones. See more monies. The shills on this site will tell you how great it is to have a such a proactive and responsive team on hearthstone, but you and I know it is annoying and unprofessional. I just think it is also intentional.

Just get rid of kazakusan

Otherwise, this game is a circus.
The only thing nerf should be guff and kazacusstan other than that meta is fine.
They are analyzing data.
