this happens 50% of the time from Nellie.. how do these things get by testing. It should reduce the cost of the pirates by 2 not make the mana cost 1. Silly devs..
I've been trying to hold off talking about it because I'm so done with that card but I'm also having a lot of fun in this expansion. I don't usually like to just criticize the developers but whoever designed that card and then whomever approved the card don't have the best interests of the player base in mind. This game has been 1000 times better without Charge as exploitable as it was imo. I'm fine with there being a few charge minions in the game.
Kor'vas Bloodthorn doesn't really see play and isn't a threat on the board or in hand.
King Krush he was in a few decks before the rotation with Beastmaster Leorox and I think he will still se play with beast summon abilities but he has to be cheated out to not be played at 9 mana.
Al'Akir the Windlord usually never gets thrown in a deck but more used when discovered and without spell buffs or a discount he's not hitting that hard.
Captain Galvangar He is conditional on armor see he isn't seen in any aggressive decks right now. He does have an OTK combo that requires quite a few cards and survivability so not really a big factor.
Mr. Smite last and certainly the most annoying is Smite. Like stated above I don't know why or how neutral charge minions were brought back into the game but he's just so overpowered in this game right now and it's because of the resources available in the game now. He can be discovered through amalgam, Nellie, and randomly summoned by the juggernaut. if warrior has one smite in their deck they have great access to 3 more. The other problem on top of that isn't that he's a 6/5 6 mana neutral minion with charge but that he gives all other pirates charge. If it was just rush on both Smite and the rest of the pirates then warrior would be able to play control again and the play would be centered around making strategic board clears with them instead of me go face mentality.
There is so much powercreep and broken shit that it is hard to even begin to know where to complain. Fucking mage goes into recursion on turn 5, priest can field massive silent minions from turn 1. Quest hunter even stronger with nagas, mech paly is stronger than the wild version I used to take to legend......you can just go on and on, the game is pure silliness. At this rate, people will be able to draw their entire deck and kill on turn 2 with coin in a year or two.
Yeah, get used to Smite being the best card of Hearthstone for very long time. Pirate Warrior and Pirate Rogue are actually able to use any number of them.
Don’t get me wrong there is a ton of garbage in the game right now. The switcharoo priest is outrageously busted, two 12/12’s turn 3/4. Even if it only has a 50% win rate.
I feels like they really should have a ptr for like 2 weeks before releasing cards. let anyone play a full collection in the ptr for a few weeks so they can collect data on the stuff they obviously don’t see with the internal testing. And honestly even give away a few packs to anyone who plays the ptr for 20 or more games.

Remember when SIX mana Smite was wrong? Now we have 1 mana Smites, Q Warrior is ridiculous right now.

Grommash Hellscream my personal favorite charge minion has to be cheated out with Cowardly Grunt or discounted by Vandar Stormpike and would still need the help of Provoke to activate his attack.

Even when you have the warrior at 10 or less health (with leathal on board) and you youself are at 20+...
