Before I say anything I want to say that I love the new expansion and there are alot of cool cards put out in this set.
That being said, mech mage is busted.
The deck WANTS to go second for coin. To have an unstoppable turn 5.
The reducing the costs of ever mech in your hand by 1 is insane for how much synergy each mech has with another. Turn 5 they not only can set their board with with various 2/3 3/2 3/5 4/3 combonations. They wipe your board with each mech summon because of Mecha-shark.
Without a complete board wipe no deck is safe from it’s turn 6 overdrive play which does the same exact play just better. Leaving you with more minions to deal with and again an empty board.
Don’t even get me started about the Mage Colossal. Which if you so how make it to turn 7 you will see one drop almost every turn until you’re dead.
Not wrong though. This isn't a discussion. OP is stating how they feel in hopes to find others that feel the same. That is the correct usage of the salt thread. If someone wanted to discuss it or get advice, you would need to provide details about what deck you are playing and the like.
Personally, I have been beating it regularly with both an aggressive naga priest and with a slower control boar priest. What are you playing and when do you feel like the game has gotten away from you?
You can reconsider playing control warrior, its very strong, won against face hunters, fel dhs, mech pala/mages, murlock/zoo locks, just vs any kind of fast shit deck :D, also doing good vs burn/multicaster sham and silence priest, might struggle vs another control/reno decks, i got usualy outvalued since my deck focus more on survivability.
I thought it was really strong at first, but I don't think it's as nuts as it seems. They're bad draws seem to be pretty weak, but when they play like 3 Gai after big shark turns it feels busted. I play Shaman and it's one of the many board based decks that gets hard steamrolled by good freeze chain.
The test is, are there several current control decks that can deal with it? The combination of loads of discover, loads of draw, and loads of deathrattle (making boards hard to clear) feels very oppressive to me.
I played against a lot of mech mages. If you queue up against mage, expect it to be mech. That's just how it is now until someone figures out another spec... or doesn't figure one out and mech is it.
That being said, i'm about 50/50 against them. When they get a bad draw, they just lose badly. They have to get shark in their opening hand or they are behind in the game until they do get it. I do think shark will be one of the first cards to get nerfed from 3 missiles to 2 missiles.
I personally believe that the irritation caused by the mech archetypes (mage in particular) currently comes from the fact that the discovery options very realiably offer you the colossal minions (or some really good class mech in any case) and, even though the discovery tools often require you to have a mech on board, the presence of cheap sticky mechs makes the condition easy to meet. Ann from that on it's a deck that dumbly plays itself.
As countless other top tier decks ou there, sadly.

This belongs in Salt
What an original retort.
Eh, i had the deck. Its not that great and best of all, no fun at all. Deleted and made a silence priest. Feel better, for now.
There was some salt when one guy killed me on turn 6 from 40 with no board through quadruple shark.

I’m pretty sure these morons at Blizz do absolutely no play testing before releasing cards

Thank you!!!
And I am fine with that but stuff like this happens it needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY

This abomination of a deck should be nerfed to the ground. It is even more obnoxious than pirate warrior
