My forecast is that it will be a meta for quest hunter, mech pala and maybe quest warrior. Hunter because the quest is strong. Pala because minions with divine shield are strong and they counter hunter's quest. Quest warrior because there are still pirates.
And it will be a very aggro meta.
Pretty much, the same meta as last year: Aggro and Combo OTK will once again dominate, not sure if Mech decks can go Midrange with late-game values, or they most likely stay Aggro to finish games quick to deal with uninteractive Aggro decks like Quest Hunter...
Quest Hunter will be strong in Standard... and imagine how much stronger its power level will be in Wild..
Hunter and Rogue are both going to be awful. Hunter has the ability to entirely ignore your board and go face, face, face with multiple damage spells. It's so stupid.
You need to kill Rogue by turn 8 or else the new pirate will ruin your game plan. The new weapon that is basically 3 mana for a 4/3 is ridiculous.

Agreed, except that there's plenty of ways for lots of classes to ruin your game plan if you let them survive to turn 8, so I don't think Hooktusk will make a big difference.

…And this is why this game has become highly aggravating win or lose. Games are over in 2 minutes. What used to be chess has become speed checkers. Hearthstone is dumbed down, toilet version of what it was. Dump your hand, draw your whole deck, win fast. Me go face. BM your opponent and make everyone miserable. Repeat. Control classes playing aggro. And to think they added colossal cards that cost 7+ mana, as if anyone can play a 7 drop that isn’t also an instant win condition.

Pretty much this, sadly so because they need to make more $$$ from quick games and mobile players... so the original design of the game is no longer there..
Did anyone realize that most cards costs 7 mana and below for this expansion? There is zero 9-mana cost, one 10-mana cost card (Paladin Epic card), a few 8-mana cost cards (the Colossal minions), and one 20-mana cost card (the Naga giant). Most of the cards are in the range of 3-5 - mana costs.
A couple of years from now, they might stop printing 6+ mana cost cards and most cards will be around 1-3 mana costs.
What really saddens me is that the development team continues to pursue these stupid game design choices every expansion. Does this really improve sales? do most players like games that end based on mana-cheating stupidity as early as turn 5 or 6? Am I alone in wishing we had a true "chess" like game where each turn decisions mattered and it wasn't possible to win so easily, and so regularly, by turn 5, 6 or maybe 7?
My opinion is that this pushes the new view of HS as an iPhone game. I think that this is the point. They want it as a phone-based game and not as PC based game.
And I also think that most of the players don't want HS too serious. It is not. It is a game also for kids. They should rework everything in order to have it serious, starting from the graphic (that it is kids appealing).
So short and easy game this should be the trend.
This is the old topic of HS tournaments and HS RNG that is not working well together. Because always pro-played complained about RNG and it is correct, you are a pro and you will lose the game against a dumb due to RNG, It is not pleasant. But RNG is also repetitiveness of the match with less boredom.
Considering HS as chess is a blasphemy and the involvement of Garry Kasparov is only marketing in order to feet the game in both shoes.
I understand what you're saying. What I find funny is the game seems "harder" to me to pull off some of the insane combos - think of a Rally Priest turn that goes nuts on turn 5 or 6 - than a game where you play "reasonable" spells or minions each turn even if the game goes to turn 10. I would think for children or young teens the game is more difficult to approach with these nutty combos out there. Maybe I'm just too old and I underestimate how savvy kids are with games?
I am a returning Player stopped after Dalaran Expansion and returned in Feb. 2022 and had so much fun with the new Demonhunter Class. Althought it was "only" a Tier3 Deck.
I am cheering for the Demonhunter! I will play that class anyway. And Warlock looks exciting (love to play the curses!). I think the new Naga Tribe is made for the Demonhunter. Looks like ubertempo for Demonhunters! And the most will underestimate it.

if you want HS to feel like chess, play chess? you know which mode is the most played in online chess atm ? bullet (1min max game) or ultrabullet (less than 1min). an aggro HS game lasts wayyyy longer.

I think that mostly depends on the definition of kids. I don't know how old are you. But when I think about a kid between 13 to 20, I am quite sure that he is more able to do these things than a middle-aged man.
I mean :) do you see faster/skilled, in this stuff, a young streamer on Twitch or Kasparov? I think the answer is quite obvious, sorry Kasparov.
Blizz's choice of marketing is anyway so fun. This video made me laugh so much.

With this set hitting the ladder expect some serious nerfs people… hunter, paladin, rogue and shaman can be expected to be hit…
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
AND REMEMBER lovely gentlemen and women, when week has passed from 12.4.2022, we will determ, what stone it will be and we will see WHO was right.
I'd love to see my predictions go completely wrong :)
Mage decks and QL Hunter

Gonna be a solitaire meta like last time. No value or slow control decks viable.
Hope everyone is wrong, as a player that primarily enjoys control decks. :/
That said, the return of Reno / Zola is a very powerful boost to control, unless aggro is totally overwhelming (which it might well be).
