GvG and Naxx were already worse than people remember. They weren't the worst but really weird seeing so few mentions of them in a thread like this.
I think N'Zoth and BR Gul'dan were cards that really set a new power level. Aside from them, power creep has always been steady, but with those two easy board fill cards power creep really took an incremental leap for the first time.
I don't understand people's issues. Power creep as compared to what? Silverback patriarch?
Pretty much, and that's actually an issue. There's always going to be decks that stop getting support because they're forgotten or because they've never even been in the meta. What are the players of those decks supposed to do? What should I do when I feel like playing Empty Hand Hunter or Giant Mage or Mech Shaman, but they have only been power crept on when they weren't great to begin with?
I feel like the 'Persistant' power-creep is the worst part. Any card that causes a 'for the rest of the game' effect.
More power efficient spells and height cost/value card are a form of power creep that everybody gets. I.E. Since the new commons/uncommons power creep as well, people can affordably benifit and counter-creep.
Questline, Hero, hero power, decrease spell cost in deck and so forth. These are what seem to be the problem for me.
One, these bonuses are rarely minor. Often they lead to a win condition around the 6-8 mana range.
Two, even if you manage to survive the initial 'win condition' the deck can often continue to use the bonus to maintain a better than normal presence even after the win condition / strategy has failed/was blocked.
Three, you are stuck with strategies based on which perma-effect legendary you get. I've been stuck with my ranked deck for the last 3 months since the game refuses to give me any other questline or hero (out of the 13 legendaries I haven't unlocked from Stormwind, 9 are questlines) Gotten quite a few good warlock cards lately, but cannot use them because I lack a Tamsin (Either of them).
