Focus on standard makes sense. I advice buying the "mini set" for 2k gold if you can (I believe you have about a month for that). I heard there are some "one time" bundles that are worth it, if you want to pay money. Check HearthstoneMathematics on yt, they make good videos about what is worth to buy.
Also there is a grandmaster tournament going on rn, if you link your yt and battlenet accounts you get 2 packs (per week?) for a certain amount of hours watchtime.
I am not sure wich set is the most important (alterac seems to be not that worth it), but in 1-2 months there is a rotation: Only barrens, stormwind and alterac will be standard viable after that.
As a returning player you get a pretty useful standard deck for free of your choice. Idk if you already picked a deck, maybe you should look at the lists before that.
In less than a month new exp and new year will come out so i would say wait a little bit longer before making an investment.
In solo mode, this years content give packs you can get 15 or 20 in total after completing every one of them and mini-set is a very good offer and it has some impactful cards.
Since you came back after 3 years you will get a free deck as well
As a said chill for one more month with what you got and have fun bro, welcome back ^^
So this time 'round, don't worry about competitive. Build some fun decks.
Sure, briefly you'll be at Standard, but soon enough, for cheap fun with perennially amazing cards - Wild.
Heroes in order of fun: Thief Rogue, and Hanar and more Thief priest (and a couple other inexpensive meme priest decks) Randomizing and discover Mage decks
you’re coming back at a good time since the annual rotation + new core set is incoming. I would craft the cheapest deck i can find with the least amount of rotating cards as possible to mess around with until the reset. Dont fall victim to netdecking an expensive druid deck because they’re losing a ton of key cards very soon. Also as far as the free returning player decks go the Paladin deck has the most legendaries in it i believe so i would choose that if i were you.
The games has allot of free solo story content and other content, new games modes like battleground (merceneries is just the biggest waste of time and a money grab) and duels. If you feel burned out, i suggest trying battlegrounds. Whatever comes to Standard and wild, it all kinda depends on you, standard is more tight but less chaotic but classes are some amount not in the same power level. also *DEMON HUNTER* class is a thing too. Whatever comes wild, its more open to different deck types but, you got allot of aggro decks, otk decks, death avoidence bull crap but you can use more cards and different decks.
Buy Forged in the Barrens, United in Stormwind, and Fractured in Alterac Valley packs they will stay in standard for another year, try to collect all the commons from each one, then all the rares. I would start with United in Stormwind since those cards power level are the highest, then Alterac Valley because it has the best legendaries, then barrens
If any, get the mini set first! The duplicate protection prevents you from getting those cards in packs later.
Arena can give you some good value if you like mage/shaman and wyrmrest purifier ;)
I would save some gold and dust for the next expansion too, unless you really need certain cards to win games.
If you want to spend a little and play a lot; Get the battle pass once the new set comes. Maybe a small 20€ bundle when it pops up.
Remember duplicate protection for all cards now! Start aiming for all commons, then rare cards in each expansion.
Alterac valley seems to have many of the best legendary cards, but the worst commons for standard. The barrens are almost the opposite (maybe it's just me). Aaaand don't play with questlines unless you want people to hate you :p
Of Which set should I start buying packages? Focusing on standard atm?
thx

Wild is more fun but more pricy too, it's all about you, do you still have some wild cards left?
Run away!! It’s not worth a penny anymore! Lol.
f2p while on the toilet at work \m/

Be wary of these morons on here who spend all day complaining but for some reason still play the game and still post on a game they hate so much
There is a thing called an uninstall button. Nobody cares that you are quitting Heathstone
be wary of the people who are positive and encourage you to spend money on this shitshow
This is so lame, just as I predicted, one of the guilty ones
