why are people complaining about achievments being too hard?
Just make a deck specifically for the achievment go play wild vs. some bots or brain dead noobs that dont understand a thing whats going and and will still play like its the final at the world championship and u got it within no time.
i am at 98% with ALL achievments throughout every expansion since reward track where you get exp for.
I used to go achievement hunting in hearthstone, as I did with almost every other game that I play seriously. I got every single achievement of every expansion that give xp.
I stopped at Stormwind expansion tho. As a person who has collected 17 platinum trophies in playstation, I can say that the achievements in hearthstone are the most dumb, mind numbing, braindead grindy and lazily written ones EVER.
I expect some creativity, flavor or some reference when comes to the achievements. "Play X 35480 times" is the dumbest way an achievement can be. And they are really not that rewarding (200 XP are you kidding me?!). Moreover, since you will prolly lose a lot of games when trying to get them, your MMR will be destroyed, and your star bonus will minimize immediately. (For example, I hit legend in both standard and wild once, and the month after that I only played wild a little and did the XP achievements in standard ladder only. I ended the month with gold 5 in wild and like silver 4 in standard. the next month, I got the minimal star bonus for standard, but I got 9 star bonus for wild. So to conclude, its not worth it to chase these dumb achievements unless you find some of them easy.)
I think the bigger issue is that Pet Collector is really, really underwhelming. What beast, in Standard or Wild, do you want to summon (*cough*recruit*cough*) from your deck with this card? Seriously, what's the high roll?
For a card that kind of includes a deck-building restriction (you're not running cheap, or battlecry beasts), the cost, body, and effect are really meh.

Yeah.. that does feel like one of those random achievements to fill up space.. and like others have said, it would be much easier to swallow if it was a viable card, but 70 just seems like way too much. It's honestly a problem with achievements in general across all modes, most of them are just not fun or interesting to obtain.
I mean... Forcing achievements only to ranked kinda cuts any inclination I got for it. So you're telling me I have to play a tier17 deck in ranked and tank my mmr/star bonus for... 20 achievement points? I'll get right on it!
It's grindy for sure, and the decks you need to play to do it aren't the very best (like no one ever was), but if you are the sort of person that just feels a burning need to check meaningless boxes off in a game (like I am) at least it's neither rng dependent nor dependent on your opponent doing anything specific, so it's just a matter of having a movie on the other monitor, putting in the time, ruining your MMR in whichever mode you care less about, and knowing it will be finished eventually

Seems like a lot, but still totally doable.

It's an achievement. The epitome of participation awards in video games. Put the time in get rewarded.
I don't think it's too much. If anyone even cares about achievements.

I don't chase achievements, but based on my completion percentages over the past few expansions, I can say achievements are getting grindier.

this achievement is soooo boring...
and we need a place where we can help eachother out with achievementhunting.

The Rat King, sometimes Teacher's Pet.
Getting an early Rat King is pretty important for any deck that tries to abuse it. Both are good pulls for a more general deathrattle deck.
