Here it is, a place where you can post your hot takes and brag about having said it first, or to laugh at how wrong you were and have fun anyways. I start!
Lady Prestor will see play. Not even kidding. She's now a great tech option against slower decks for aggro! Most of the new dragons have very powerful battlecries, especially Kazakusan, making the lady a viable plan B in case your opponent managed to stabilize. Decks that could use her are Taunt/Beast druid, Handbuff Paladin, Quest Rogue (post quest ofc), Elemental Shaman.
Raid Boss Onyxia and Scale of Onyxia will revive spell token druid, guaranteed. Fungal Fortunes is still in standard and the deck still works, only reason its not played its cuz it had no new cards, UNTIL NOW. Onyxia and her scales give the deck token-based hard removal, so now it has the means to swing the board back if it loses the tempo war. Its druid, so mana cost wont be an issue. We now even have Capture Coldtooth Mine to tutor Onyxia so it wont be discarded by Fortunes, the deck pretty much builds itself!
Hunter is the clear winner of the class card inclusions. Furious Howl and Dragonbane Shot are insane for Quest Hunter, but I think Face Hunter will find a way to fit them too, which scares the shit out of me.
Any hot takes you'd like to share? Lets see if anyone gets something right lol
My prediction: your 8-10 mana cards from the miniset will see zero play comnpetitively.
Onyxia is seeing play for sure, any ramp druid player would give their kidney to play her, a wincon that can swing the board back against aggro = nutty.
Lack of creativity or creating some sort of consistency .. Im getting the mini set like always for gold . seems like a fun one adding to current or old archtypes more ...
Lack of creativity is really a major concern. This game is really boring with these vulgar reprints.
none of these are reprints. They have different uses, have different keywords, are in different classes, or have different costs that change how they are built into archetypes. Reprints are 1:1.

Everything is just kicker. You pay the mana cost for one effect, or a different mana cost for another effect. It’s just kicker… or horsemanship.
Seriously though, you’re reaching with a lot of those. They aren’t reprints and if you think they are functioning the same way, you’re missing the point of both cards.
Face Hunter & some other aggro decks will dominate the meta at least for first 2 weeks while people are trying new cards and find out majority of them sucks....
Nothing will change after a few days. Yeah ramp druid will play another high cost card and discover it from bag.
Rotation needed, untill then no late game value deck (besides Druid) can be competitive.
Eg, Why play a dragon priest deck when quest priest will win games quicker and more consistently.
Quest priest is one of the slowest decks out there. And it loses at least 60% of all it's games in higher ranks. Priest quiet sucks in standard right now.
Eg, Why play a dragon priest deck when quest priest will win games quicker and more consistently.
Dragon Priest is a tempo/midrange deck. Quest Priest isn't that. There's lots of reasons to run a dragon priest (especially spell-based priest) build over quest priest.
I think Kazakusan decks have potential. At least to be really fun.

Call it reprints or "revisited cards" anyway, for me it is not fun at all playing cards that more or less already existed.

Midrange Priest might finally be a thing again.
Dont think Dragon Priest is quite there yet, but the "Chaos" (Light and Dark) theme they went for with Lightmaw Netherdrake is VERY exciting. Anyone who has played Yugioh is familiar with the archetype, and if thats the direction they want priest to go post rotation then I'm sold.

Lack of innovation is huge here.
Just go play MtG Arena or Yugioh. Oh wait, they ALL revisit old concepts now and then, cuz thats what old card games end up having to do in order to push out new content constantly. Your expectations are highly misplaced.

You can't say this guy is not in the right though. Hearthstone has not innovated a lot these last few years. Sure there were some additions that shook up the game a bit such as Demon Hunter and spell schools. Other than that, the last year has only been recycling of old concepts.
The lack of innovation is explained by the sheer amount unrelated game modes which are being put out as well. What do Mercenaries and Battlegrounds even have to do with base game Hearthstone other than being set in the same universe? They are completely unrelated and just a way to save the sinking ship that is hearthstone (from a business perspective).

But he IS wrong, minisets are not supposed to introduce new concepts, thats the big expansion's job! All minisets have only ever delved deeper in interactions/concepts already introduced by prior expansions, they NEVER gave us what he is complaining about.
Whether the recent full expansions are lacking innovation or not is another story entirely (dont think they are, but that is rightfully debatable). Again, misplaced expectations.

Man, you are wrong this is the issue. Hearthstone is going pretty bad, I am not saying it and RMD01 either, data is saying this. Check Twitch's view about Hearthstone. Only Battleground saved Hearthstone, this is a fact. Most of the streamers are now in BG and not in constructed.
So, design is pretty bad and time is passing. In this specific context, the design team gave us the worst of themself, I even find this set offensive. It is offensive for a customer to see this reprinted crap to purchase.
Anyway, that you don't understand anything about HS is clear in your answers.

And yet you're STILL here! If the game is as bad as you described why didnt you just quit?! I'll never understand the ppl who keep saying the game is dying/went to shit but keep playing it or wasting their time badmouthing it on forums, must be a weird fetish or something.
If we were back at Ben Brodes era we would have zero new content to engage with in between expansions, so im very glad we even have anything new to play at all rn.
The game didnt get worse, it just got older, if you want higher levels of novelty you should wait for rotation or just find another game.
The real problem is the insane power level of the cards. You don't have to think about so may things , play solar eclipse and ceanrion ward , add two 6/6 with taunt for free. And this is an small example. In the old Hearthstone turns like this are impossible. But everyone wants to see more crazy thinks. The design is exhausted. So I feel this adventure is a normal one and people are bored cause there is nothing very special in it.

You mean the old and balanced Force of Nature/Savage Roar era? Leeroy/2x Shadowstep? Starving Buzzard/Unleash the Hounds?
If a set power level is high people will say its frustrating, if it is low people will say it is boring. The circlejerk continues..

My prediction: Leave constructed as it is and not even open the expansion. Don't you guys are not bored and full of these vulgar reprints?
Don't Stand in the Fire! is more or less Volcano
Lightmaw Netherdrake is Duskbreaker
Onyxian Drake is Shield Slam on a drake
Mi'da, Pure Light is somehow Waxadred
Raid Boss Onyxia third Onyxia with similar effect, we will wait the forth Onyxia now. We already had Onyxia and Onyxia the Broodmother
Haleh, Matron Protectorate is a very costly Flamewaker
Scale of Onyxia there are a lot of similar cards, Command the Illidari for example
Dragonbane Shot is Rapid Fire
Lack of creativity is really a major concern. This game is really boring with these vulgar reprints.

Since when does quest priest win games? It’s a tier 4 deck at best, I’m sure dragon priest can be that bad too.
