There is no true counter against quest hunter. It beats almost all Aggro deck, control decks and there is nothin to counter it. Atleast quest warrior there are a few counters to it. But hunter there aren’t any in wild. You can’t out armor it cause they just drop a minion that destroys all armor. You can’t put heal it as they can easily go from 30 to 0 in one turn. And if you try to aggro them down they simple kill you minions off with spells and finish the quest in 3 turns while also doing heavy damage to your face so you can’t react. and yes this is in wild where the deck is the most broken. The quest is way to easy to complete and the reward way to high for it. Not even adding an extra point to it would fix it. It wouldn’t be deal a dmg. Spell that activates the quest. It should be do 2 dmg. With spells for it to count to the quest. Anything else is just flat stupid.
We will see with the nerf, but there is one deck that demolishes them. Quest Druid (the attack one). You slam face with gaining shit ton of armor and don't play any minions. It worked the best, but crumbles on any other deck almost (except Pirate Warrior also).

"Minion to minion the basic of all combats, only a fool trusts his win to an OTK"
Nerfing the quest in favour of wild mode will leave Hunter class with only one playable deck in standard.
Quest Hunter isn't viable in Standard though. The only good standard hunter decks are face hunter and beast hunter.
Define "viable". Also, the questline is just a shell; you can build out the deck many different ways to suit different metas. I've had the most fun with a controll-ish style, and been able to climb into mid-legend ranks the past few months. To me, that's viable.
Face hunter does seem to be the strongest archetype for the last several expansions, which is kind of frustrating, though. All these cool cards and mechanics available to the class, but the only thing that sees much play is damage that goes immediately face.
The upcoming nerf to Rapid Fire should at least slow it down. Without that early on, it'll be a lot harder to fulfill the quest requirements, just like in standard.

Agreed, they just eliminated the 1 mana damage options from 12 total to 8. That is HUGE in a race.

Been playing Non-Baku Quest Hunter in wild recently, I have the final reward by Turn 5 quite often, and playing it this early usually means I beat the opponent. However, with the Nerf I think it will realistically come down turn 6 earliest. That can be pretty impactful, but I think the deck will continue to be tier 1 because of how easily it farms pirate warrior.
Yep, I have been playing wild all day and people have already proven that the quest is still completely broken. Even without Baku or using the twin dmg. Spell. The quest is the issue not the spells it uses it the buff Baku gives to hunters.
every hunter I have played and even playing it myself. I’m able to finish the quest by turn 5 easily without any of the above mentioned and still kill my opponent by turn 6 with easy. The quest needs a major nerf or banned from wild. There is no other way around it, until they create a minion that can nullify quest or out right shut them down. There is no way of stopping quest hunter. And yes 1 deck which is face Druid is the only deck I have seen that could possible stand a chance against this deck. But even then you need to get the right cards to win or your dead.
i just think it’s funny now that so many people are laughing at blizz. By playing quest hunter without the mentioned cards being nerfed to prove that the quest is the issue not the other cards.
My other suggestion for Hunter quest change is that the required spells should target minions only, not to the hero's face. Hunter can still finish the quest but this change would slow down Hunter and make them to control the board instead of pushing for Aggro Quest archetypes... Also, it would help build other slower Quest Hunter strategies too.

Believe it or not, the nerf to Rapid Fire also affects non-odd-questline hunters. Why not wait to see how it plays out? Banning cards from wild should be a last resort.
Guess they followed their approach with The Demon Seed. Nerfing quest-related cards, then slightly changing the quests before the last resort to ban the quest.
They already did the same with Raid the Docks (nerfed the Pirate card to 2/1 and now slowed down the quest)

Any slow druid deck beats it quite easily.
lol
That's why banning it in Wild is the easiest solution...
Also, Big Beast/Secret Hunter can be feasible in Standard if the meta slows down after the upcoming Standard balance...
Yep that's one of many reasons why this game is garbage.

Never assume anyone have common sense, the last 2 years clearly demonstrated that it is not the case
