I've been playing ladder and have half to good odds against all classes and deck-types;
except Mage.
I wondered how everyone is doing against the newly buffed mage and what has been winning against it recently.
Personally, I think Wild Fire maybe shouldn't stack on Dawngrasp: The +2 stacks incredibly fast and with ping-synergy cards it now seems too strong; what was a three or max four damage ping is now a 6-8-10 damage after a few turns.
I'm not sure about the Parrot to 6 too: It can now be a three turn "do 30 damage" by turn 9; which to me is too fast for any deck: Figuring 30 damage; albeit over 3 turns, should be restricted to a turn 10 play at best. I would make Parrot 7 and I would make Mask of C'Thun to 8.
Sorry, I didn't mean critic the buffs; though I suppose discussion on it is promoted too.
Primarily though: as I've said; does anything beat ping-mage, besides ping mage in the current meta?
The aggro/most used version of Quest Warrior dominates it. HS Replay says mage has a 28% winrate against ping mage. that number might be off by a bit. If mage doesn't have weapon removal then paladin hero does well against it. the big thing is when the hero power gets out of control early and the apprentice lets you ping face twice
I am not sure about it since my sample sice is fairly low but I had good odds with quest handlock so far. Though it requires to play for maximized heals. I managed to outlast quite a few, the others wombocomboed me with a insanely stacked hero power.
If they get a ignite from somewhere my Chances go towards zero. :P
I've played a lot of both Ping Mage and Menk's "D5-Legend 1 loss" big-beast hunter deck, and both are really good, but opposite sides of the same coin: When playing Ping Mage, hunter matchups were rough. And when playing this particular hunter deck, I'd rip through Ping Mages pretty effortlessly. So you could give that a shot, if you'd like?
I've won every game with quest lock that I've played against ping lock. The big thing to do is to keep the board clear, and don't overextend and stay above 10 hp for when the board is about to be pyroblasted.
Cheers for the feedback: I was mostly interested in how Pirate Warrior, Questlock and Buff Paladin fare against it.
Good to hear Mozaki and Face Hunter are viable too.
Good season so far I have to say: Kind of reminds me of the power levels of Kobolds and the Dr.Boom expansions.
A new Thread question maybe, but I take it Outlands, Scholomance, and Madness at the Darkmoon Faire will be leaving in April?
Yes, those sets are rotating and we will of course have the new core set as well. That's an interesting thread idea. What would all of you like to be included in the new core set? As far as tribes, mechanics, etc. I think it would be cool if they reintroduced a lot of the menagerie style cards from over the years, we could even have some of them added to BGs as well.
Yes. a lot of things beat ping mage. In fact, I will list a deck from every class that has favorable matchup against it:
Quest/Deathrattle demon hunter are favored.
Any non-aggressive druid list is favored.
Quest Hunter is favored.
Mozaki Mage is favored.
Libram Paladin is favored.
Quest Rogue is favored.
Sadly all priests are unfavored, but miracle does best, standing at 45%. Just needs to pop off early.
Quest warlock is very slightly favored.
Aggro/Freeze shaman are favored.
Quest warrior is almost a free win.
These statistics look at Diamond 5 through legend statistics. I understand you might not be there at the moment, but it's a good start if ping mage is a problem for you.
oh damn even ping mage is out of control we are doomed we need a new balance patch once a week because devs dont know what they are doing .....
why dont they make polls on this forum and let casual players decide what to do with the game??? maybe even decide card design??? game mechanichs?? game modes and everything else????

Google search: Is Hearthstone free to play?
I have over 80% WR using Mozaki Mage... lol

Mage isn't even in the top half of classes winning in standard. Not sure I understand the question.

Check out my fun and innovative decks here:
Beat your opponent to a pulp with Revenant Warrior or outlast them with Demon Reno Warlock.
The armor gain for mage is what I would like to see nerfed, it just doesn't make sense for the class anyway.

Let them gain all the armor they want.
quest priest

Just play some retarded deck like Quest warrior
Quest warrior...which beats any other deck that isnt heavily teched against it.
69% win rate lol. And you complain about ping mage.

democracy is the answer people...... bceause https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhpI23fynEE&ab_channel=MK

Lol whenever mage gets good stuff people starts to complain
New C'thun Druid, which is currently infesting Wild like locust seems to do well against it.
also any paladin that gets to play Lightforged Cariel. The rest of the deck doesn't even matter.
I wouldn't worry about pingmage for now. Mozaki is probably a bigger issue, and a far worse experience to face.
To be clear, this is exactly how things should be. Every deck has bad match-ups. Yours happens to be Mage.
If this were not the case, the meta would be a nightmare.
