No, most streamers stream battlegrounds because constructed lost its popularity.
Streamers stream what is popular. Remove battlegrounds and we'll see Hearthstone not an #20 but at #50.
Battlegrounds is what saved Hearthstone numbers on Twitch. I remember the massive exodus of Hearthstone streamers to TFT. BG brought many of them back.
Streamers stream what they want to play. Rarran certainly did not switch to Mercenaries because he thought it was going to be more popular than constructed. He did it because he personally was burnt out on Questlines and needed a change. Dog streams BGs because he likes auto-battlers more than CCGs. I doubt he has played enough Alterac constructed to have formed an opinion about it. Trump definitely gets more YT views when he plays Hearthstone instead of Age of Empires, but he's enjoying Age of Empires, so that's what he plays.
As a viewer, I unsubscribed from several content creators not because I dislike Hearthstone constructed, but because of all the negativity I was hearing from them. I look at a Hearthstone gameplay channel to see Hearthstone gameplay, not to hear the streamer tell me everything that's wrong with the game.
As all the negativity feeds on itself, I've simply watched less content and started playing more. And guess what -- I'm having a lot more fun than I did when I followed all the streamers and their opinions about the game.

The only HS channels on Youtube I've been watching lately are Mark and Kibler. Fun meme decks and off-meta standard constructed. Both have a relatively good attitude and provide entertainment.
I can't even imagine watching a streamer who constantly bashes the game or company and then continues to play it.
I'm often thinking I would be happier if I stopped reading these forums sometimes, too...
I tried to read between 4 pages of complains, opinions and more. The expansion did his job adding new intersting decks. So cant say is weak expansion. But there are more types of players ,one they play more for wins and choose top decks and other for experience ,fun and this expansion give them some fun decks like burgler rogue and big spell mage.Quest decks are still good but curios is the fact the quest priest become better now and before this was the weakest quest line .
It's really impossible to make everyone happy - some people are quietly enjoying mercs, while some people feel personally violated that the game didn't meet their expectations.
Some people are also quietly enjoying this expansion, while others jump to point out everything that's wrong with it.
I'm not thrilled about every deck that seems to be populating ladder, but I am actually still having fun. I see a lot of people doing different things and especially some slower games.
I'd make a thread about all the things that I like about the game at present but it would get trolled or ignored for sure.
Why don't we try to think positively for a change and see a new perspective here?
No, because it proves to the Devs that they are designing the cards in the right direction, and they will keep repeating the same mistakes....
But that's what I mean... some people are enjoying the cards the way they are. And I think you'll never have a 100% satisfied target audience.
I feel like the majority of people posting on forums tend to do so in order to voice their distaste for things, but do these people account for more than half the player base, or less? I'd be interested to see these numbers, if they existed somewhere.
I mean, I shouldn't come here and expect everyone to stop being negative and just get on with it, because we all have our right to feel how we feel. I guess I'd just like to try and look at things in a better way.
Those are my two cents. Carry on...
Well, there is in reality a way in order to measure how things are going in Hearthstone. The smartest way that I have in mind is Twitch View.
Therefore, even if you like it, the universal answer is that people are overall not happy. If you check the chart, the public is constantly decreasing, there are no peaks anymore after the releases, and people are already decreasing regarding the new expansion. People for sure lost the enjoyment after the new expansion releases (no picks) and the shape of the public is constantly decreasing.
Hearthstone seems not in an alarming situation but not even in a good shape. You have also to consider a huge factor in this data. "The Twitch boom". People that are using Twitch increased a lot in the period, but regarding this Heasrtone's public decreased. Hearthstone before was one of the most followed games on Twitch now it is ranked 20 as a game viewers. Therefore, things for sure are not going well - People are losing interest in the game, not fast but constantly. And for sure they lost interest for the new expansions (no picks in views anymore).
That's because most streamers play Battlegrounds and nobody interested in a card game wants to watch that. The expansion itself was not weak at all, as we see nearly all Herocards are constantly played in all decks. The expansion before simply crashed the game. They simply have to nerf specific cards and we'll see how good the current expansion really is.
Sorry, but there is no relationship at all with Battleground. Battleground is Hearthstone and it is also inside the part of the game for the Twitch View. Battleground is a data aggravating circumstance because it means that people are even less interested in Hearthstone itself. Here because: If the Twitch View is decreasing, and there is also Battleground, it means that even less people are interested in the Hearthstone cards.
HS will never die anyway, it will just transit to HS2 at some point.
Eh, the tories will then cut funding and you'll get half a game, delivered overbudget and 20 years late. (apologies to non-UK people who are confused. UK politics joke.)
More or less they are saying that HS is boring in constructed (unplayable and always the same), that Blizz is not able to innovate, mercenaries sucks, Blizz is lazy without ideas, HS is a game in slow decay for years and Blizz has lived on previous income for years and will now pay the damage.
I agree with most of the conclusions, I would also add that Blizz made marketing decisions close to the scam that alienated and pissed off even old players who really loved the game.

Cannot disagree more tbh. They say that HS doesn't innovate but in these years we saw BG that bringed back HS popularity, we saw Duels, Mercenaries.
We clearly can see that Team 5 wants people to play BG and not Arena for example but they constantly see update in the game. In the past patch happened evert 3/4 months, now we have a patch a couple of weeks after an expasion.
Hs is game card, they can't innovate forever. They should refine and balance everything.
And btw even if all italian streamers are leaving HS (as an Italian i followed Kent and MatteoHs) it's not a big deal for Blizzard since their numbers are not as high as the ones from Thijs, Krip and people like that.
I am not saying that this is a bad expansion. It is not a good one and it is not a bad one. It is an average expansion, which created a medium-low interest in me.
Anyway, probably the long time that passed in Hearthstone, the incredible disappointment of mercenaries; they made this expansion an expansion that doesn't exist for me.
We had for sure far worst and not useful expansions than this, but, this is the first time that I am not interested at all in playing this game even after the cards are released.
I crafted one legendary card and that's it. I have all I wanted. No pre-order, nothing. All euros were saved for Christmas presents ( at least this is a good point).
It seems for me always the same, nothing new so on and so forth. And.... Mercenaries. I cannot forgive Blizz because they sold 130€ pre-order, promised to do things and they do nothing. Blizz made me really crazy with this.
Probably time in this game is ended for me. I am not able to appreciate it anymore.
you forgot to mention that you play since alpha 0.0001 version and that you never complained before ever.
HS will never die anyway, it will just transit to HS2 at some point.
why would they make HS2 ? what difference will it make, ppl wont join because they will lose their collection. New class + game modes is what wil keep the game "alive" they did hint DeathKnight is inevitable

Hearthstone is Hearthstone with the cards, constructed (standard and wild). BG is good and it is an additional mode. Mercenaries and Duels are garbage and they are two additional modes. When we complain about innovation we are talking about constructed that everybody is leaving.
If Italian streamers and pro-players are leaving, it means that disappointment is constantly growing and sooner or later will explode.
Strange how I have been reading about the death of Hearthstone since I started playing just before Ungoro. Still hasnt happened, doubt it ever will. Way to many people are invested in the game because of all the money they have spent in the past.
Now Blizzard has 2 money printing machines (money pits for players to toss cash into)in one game. Expansions , and Mercenaries. More people spending and because they spend they wont quit, doing so would mean they know they were fools for starting. Addicts seldom do that.
Bro what?? Im having so much fun with this one, last expac for me killed the fun I barely played, all those combo quest was so annoying. I litterally quit until the next expac. This one has a lottt of options and it tossed away a bit the quests. Loving this one. I think its the best expac of the year.

1. Unless you are a die-hard Wild player (and very few people are), your older cards don't matter that much anyway.
2. If Hearthstone 2 had a more consumer-friendly business model (more like Netrunner, for example), it would attract more paying players.
3. Hearthstone 2 could be a nice place for Death Knight to make its debut.
4. if Blizzard stops updating the old Hearthstone, people will migrate to the sequel once they get bored. (Kind of like how no one has played Classic mode since that first month.)
5. The original Hearthstone game design is lacking in uncountably many ways, and those flaws will always limit the game's design space. If they create a new design without some of those problems, Hearthstone 2 could be a lot more interesting than its predecessor.
I'm not saying Blizzard has considered any of this, but they probably should.

It seems that is going well for Hearthstone.

This game needs another full year of weak expansion before this game can reach a fine level, upgrading from hardcore shit level.
The powerlevel of these decks is just laughable disgusting these days. There is a reason Battleground is the #1 played mode in this game.

HS will never day, constructed will just become an obscure game mode outshined by Battlegrounds or some other game

Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
