Most heroes are easy day one craft, I can't see how you could regret it, they fit in basically every deck. Xyrella and Varden are more situational but the others are brainless auto include. Synergy will make them stronger, but they are playable without any synergy, they have a huge immediate and long term impact for just one card that doesn't require any setup.
Having a blast with Paladin, not gonna lie. Yea it loses against these wicked Warlocks or Freeze Shamans, but it absolutely obliterates any Aggro / Face deck, and even Pirate Warrior, taking half damage is massive, once the Meta speeds up again after the initial week.
I'am even running Mailbox Dancer to help ramping up getting to Cariel, if the pressure is on. But it's primarily in the deck to trigger High Abbess Alura and getting those sweet 0 Mana Libram of Hope triggered.
Paladin is in a good place and a lot of the expensive cards can go in multiple types of paladin decks. I wouldn't craft deathrattle warlock right now. When the meta settles it might be too slow. Freeze shaman is also a risky deck to craft in my opinion.
If you have to choose only one card to craft, pick the new Paladin hero, Cariel. She is INSANE because she halves the damage you take, can attack every turn for 2, and can buff your minions to truly huge threats (particularly with Mr. Smite).
Cariel Hero is good. If someone wants to OTK you, they have to bust your weapon first
Owl lock can burst you through the reduction.
Seeing how strong owl lock is and it's reliance on the discounts from Rod - you could counter it by playing weapon removal which in turn would also target Cariel.
But we have to see where the meta settles, so hold on to your dust for a bit longer.

Just don't craft owl lock. That owl is getting hit with the nerf to only hit minions so fast, and the deck has 2 new legendaries.
Obviously owl its not gonna be nerfed, saying owl its a problem is being a real n00b, 7 mana card=do nothing.
The problem its the rod and the minion that doubles damage(also a problem in otk DH) those are the cards that make you survive the entire game even against extreme aggro and just draw your entire deck in a few turns.
Burgle rogue is really fun and for now the deck I've had the most fun with. Paladin is still really solid and got a few new cards to play around with. Im also tinkering with a beast hunter that isn't quite getting there just yet but I still enjoy it fully.
What seems worth crafting in my opinion is what YOU personally like to play.

I currently havent crafted anything while waiting to see what is good.
What seems good? I'm hoping freeze shaman because that looks fun as heck. What about the combo warrior with the charge minion+faceless manipulator?
Cariel Hero is good. If someone wants to OTK you, they have to bust your weapon first
OwlLock and freeze shaman both seem insane
What about deathrattle priest? Saw lots of content creators play around with it and looks like it's back to its old shenanigans?
1. Face hunter of the last exp
2. Quest warlock of the last exp
3. Pirate warrior of the last exp
4. Libram paladin of the last exp
There you have 4 tier 1 decks that will be tier 1 until rotation

Irondeep Trogg is absolutely disgusting in Paly as well, Turn 1 Trogg, Turn 2 Hand of A'dal ...

Irondeep Trogg is disguting everywhere to be honest, turn 1 trogg against spell heavy deck = win, opponent is literally locked out of play sometimes.
And in handbuff paladin it gets crazier because it's not just a 1/2 but an actual threat in and of itself.
Easily the best tech card in years.

How do you know that?
It's an "after" trigger though, not a "whenever". So yeah, if a spell deck won't target them and you can buff them, they can get scary.
Otherwise they die to aoe and those that survive will copy the damage.
