Mr. Smite and the 3 drop that allows extra damage after a weapon attack is what broke this deck. It was solid before, now it's just broken.
I still don't understand why they nerfed Shaman quest and buffed Warrior quest. Really odd choice.
The original shaman nerf made sense thou. It was one of the best performing decks and since they nerfed its main competitor it would just be left as stronger than every other deck. That warrior got buffed twice (counting mini set) despite being a good deck is a real mystery thou. Why insist on releasing a mini set that clearly favors one class above all other? And why buff that class right before release and act like nothing happened?
Quest simply have to go with the rotation, like Genn/Baku. They present essentially the same problem: incredibly strong effects, but also incredibly repetitive gameplay. Just about all games against any quest play out in the same manner, and that's boring as well as unbalanced.
It's fiiiiiine, just wait a few more minutes for the new expansion, and then there will be so many new cards which can counter the Pirate Quest, such as, hu, wait, I'm sure there's one...
Pirate warrior and handlock are choking the meta cuz they farm each others counters.
Ppl dont want to play fast druid lists to farm PW cuz they get farmed by handlocks, and if you play face hunter (or burn decks in general) to farm handlocks you fall prey to warriors.
So far the new expansion has failed to change this dynamic, and if it doesnt change, the meta wont change, its as simple as that.
My hopes are with Paladin, Cariel might give us a way to farm both once one list gets refined, fingers crossed!

Decks are already running weapon removal, because of all the good weapons in the meta.
The only reason to run Viper rn would be Cariel, and if thats so, it means its warping the meta. No tech has ever stopped any card from seeing play, this is great news.
If Paladin farms both PW and Handlock a new deck must emerge to answer it, and thus a new meta is born. Put your faith in the light! ;)

the game gets ruined by effects that you cannot interact with, hunter quest result, warrior quest result...
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
