Oh, whew! I mean, if an average Joe like this guy can get to D5 and probably hit legend, then there's hope yet for me, too!
What a relief.
But, actually, what am I supposed to feel about this? Surprised to find out that famous people like to play video games? Hate for Blizzard for using famous "big brain" people in their marketing campaign?

These things all seem pretty normal.
I feel excitement to watch in the future a chess grandmaster streaming such a RNG based game like Hearthstone. That's a possiblity. Just think about it and all the things that could go wrong... Hilarious stuff! :P

Many top chess players like HS. Nepo, basically, current 2nd player in the world in chess, has played Dota 2 seriously and streams HS from time to time. Another top, Svidler, have streamed a lot of BGs

I never thought about that, but you're right. Watching this guy streaming and rolling into ladder with his deck, playing carefully... thoughtfully... and then his opponent highrolls a win.

Didn't know about that, but this thing could be a lot different, considering Blizzard is obviously behind. If they start promoting Hearthstone through this guy (they have been looking for a Ben Brode's replacement for a long time after all), shit can escalate quickly. ;)
I'm not saying it is going to happen, but it is a possibility. Time will tell...

Kasparov is the 13th World Champion in chess and for many the best player to ever play the game of chess (although I'd rank him 2nd best of all time after the current world champion Carlsen). Calling him a chess grandmaster is like calling Gaby a just a legend-level HS player...
But otherwise it is super cool that he is into Hearthstone, I hope he finds the time to grind for legend once;)
As if HS was anywhere close to the possibility of being remotely similar to a semblance of a fragment of Chess' magnificence. Marketing is such a wonderful thing.
Maybe he did for all we know, maybe he prefers this meta! Just because a few people complaining online don't enjoy it, doesn't mean everyone feels the same.
I am feeling sad for Kasparov that he gets to play today's meta.
He's such a cool guy, he deserves to try out the golden days of Hearthstone past. If he LIKES the game now, he would LOVE the game back then.

We already saw him on the Mercenaries commercial and now he is openly promoting Hearthstone (take a look here: https://www.pcgamer.com/garry-kasparov-is-diamond-5-in-hearthstone-but-reckons-if-i-make-a-push-i-can-go-to-legend-rank/), obviously as part of a Blizzard's marketing strategy. I have no idea how far they are going to take this, but it looks promising and interesting to say the least.
Having said that, what is your opinion about this, people?
Discuss!

I like his taste in decks

Maybe I can learn some curse words in russian? :D

Hehe, yeah. :P
He finally found a game that requires actual skill where he can beat the AI
Well, that's interesting. Maybe he has no time to get legend, because he plays Battlegrounds haha

In which meta? I've played since beta and it was way worse in the early days.

Okay, so I was right...
I can’t believe people think “he’s into hearthstone”. How naive.
It’s obviously a marketing campaign. He’s getting paid so ranking and the passion about hearthstone is part of his job.
I mean, thumbs up to Kasparov for getting paid.
