The amount of times they've highrolled Mr Smite from the juggernaut is ridiculous for me. Confirmation bias, but it's utterly BS. They should not summon legendary minions... Maybe, "Summon a 3 cost pirate or less" ... that, with the weapon, and the 4 dmg, is just too much every turn.
Had one return the captain to his hand to play another the next turn for 2x juggernauts, it was just disgusting.
I remember at one point, they were saying that newer cards always have higher roll chance to be randomly summoned than older cards.
And no worry, Pirates Warrior will get more OP Pirate cards and archetype support in the upcoming expansion... at least until the current theme Alliance vs. Hoarde is gone....
What I cannot possibly understand is why they felt like they needed to BUFF those three Pirates when they KNEW they were releasing Mr. Smite and Defias Cannoneer in the mini-set. Like wtf?
While i still think that HS is a cool game, at least some modes, i fail to undertsand how they can leave it in such a state. Since the Quests were released, wild mode is totally broken and unplayable. First there was 100% Warlock Quest decks and since it got nerfed its replaced by Quest Hunter and Quest Warrior. It was bad before and they even release stronger cards with the mini expansion.
I do understand, that there are always strong and easy decks. But the way it is atm, its like all cards above 5 mana can be straight away just cancelled from the game.
When they first released the questlines last expansion Warrior was close to the bottom with a sub 50% winrate. They had to buff some of the pirates just try and get it over 50, which they achieved...I think it settled around 54%-55% prior to the mini-set.
The reason they (Blizzard) went all in is because people were actually playing the deck a lot prior to the first round of buffs... Reddit and sites like this one were full of complaints about how shit it felt to play Questline warlock and mage. And yet people were still trying to play questline warrior, a terrible deck at the time, in large numbers.
Blizzard recognised that they had actually stumbled upon a fun deck ("holy shit boys, we haven't done that in while!"), and so promptly set about turning it into a broken one for the masses. The irony being that more stupidly broken it gets the less fun it is to play.
F that, I main warrior (over 2k wins) and still played it when it was crap I'm enjoying it. If its not this deck, it will just be another you cry about. If you really hate the deck there are counters for it.
Blizzard has always been slowest to nerf Warrior and Paladin because even when they are obviously OP, players don't seem to feel as bad as when other classes pull off powerful plays. My personal theory is that, on a subconscious level, "magical" plays feel like cheating more often than things like gaining armor and whacking people with weapons.

This makes sense now why Paladin/Warrior/Hunter always take the longest time to get nerf.... while Mage/Priest/Warlock are always on their nerf radar..... And DH/Rogue/Shaman/Druid are somewhere in between those ranges...
Wild really needs fixed. The meta right now is atrocious. Its either Quest Pirate Warrior , Odd Quest Hunter or Celestial Alignment Druid.
Both quests are ridiculously easy/fast to complete (both should be changed to 3 at all stages and i'd even argue the Hunter hero power should go to (1) rather than (0). )
CA is just the kinda card I fucking hate, usually comes down between turns 5-7 and you just have to hope you have an answer for the insane swing turn thats coming.
Battleground Battlemaster is still a really fucking stupid card aswell.
I seriously don't know how smite got printed. Like we have a literal example of its powerlevel in the game. It has a similar effect as tundra rhino, but 4 more attack for 1 mana, and also a deck with a ton of default synergies built in. Also, they didn't even have the balls to give all of them Charrrrrge which just doubles down on the stupidity of the card.
As for wild balance, I really feel like they either need to unnerf/allow everything, or go make it a true extended format banning cards that aren't designed for open formats.
It's sad that they didn't use the opportunity to just reduce the power a little bit or at least reduce the high roll from the juggernaut. This is basically the third time the meta is modified in favor of pirate W. Let's hope that a good counter gets the space with mage gone

With the new cards, it’s become even more cancerous
Defias Cannoneer Mr. Smite
what the fuck is this? Did they need even more pirate support?
they even gave pirate warrior a hero skin recently too XDDDDD

Remember when Blizzard said they were gonna back off of "charge" as a keyword? Me too.
Remember when Blizzard said they were gonna back off of card generation? Me too.
I remember when Blizzard first brought in "Rush" and oh how they peddled that it was basically gonna replace "charge" in the long term.
Ooooooops.

You want to know what it is?

While I agree that Mr Smite seems to be over the top, I have a consistent win rate (60%) with my Quest Warlock against those pirates.
But you sure meet a lot of them since last week …

"The set is kind of meh, how do we sell it?"
"That 'pirates have rush' minion, change it to charge. We'll fix it later."
While I agree Mr Smite is too strong, the deck itself still isn't that powerful.
Drop him to a 5/4 and make him "your pirates gain charge this turn" and he keeps the concept without being broken.
THAT is why they did it. OP sells lol
no

First of all nerf quest mage finally, after that we can talk about other classes. Thanks.
How anyone can ask about any nerf beside quest mage is beyond my understanding. Getting spell damaged from 30 to 0 in 2 turns isn't fun at all.
