I think it looks like crap. It's like a 90's game. Graphics suck hard and are extremely dull.
In terms of game play, it's not uninteresting... yet some combos seem very powerful from the start which will leave little room for experiments. Hopefully, in PVE, most combinations can be successful
I realised that this is PVP mode in the end, after these videos.
First, the rewards they were receiving after each bounty were just coins for their own mercenaries plus some coins for some rares they didn't had. That's it. Even from last boss from Barrens. Even from lvl 20 Heroic Bounty. Of course, maybe from high-end bounties you will start receiving some epic coins or even legendary. But from what I saw, it will be so few, like 5 coins for the mercenary you don't have yet. And I believe they will make it, like, you could farm some specific epic mercenaries, but for the legendary ones, it will be rng mercenary coins. I will be glad if I am wrong on this.
Second, the rewards they were receiving for PVP were great, because there were coins for epic and legendary mercenaries. Just for one win. In PVP.
Third, the fact that you couldn't craft a mercenary you want with universal currency like dust is makes it a very grindy mode, that might convince you to buy packs instead.
Fourth, the Diamond skins. You want to show them off versus real people. That's how the whole skins thing works.
So in the end, I think the PVE mode will be so grindy, that you will start getting bored at some point without PVP variety and excitement. Or, if you don't like that, you just quit. Like you quit Dungeon Runs despite their "variety".
Yes, it looks fun and I may buy a pre-order or two. A lot will depend on how the PVP system is implemented though. Playing against the AI just doesn't interest me that much.
I plan on playing the Mode, but I have not pre ordered.
The "goal" of my Hearthstone play is to collect all the cards. I already spend money on pre orders for each expansion, and I do really like how expansion releases are fairly predictable. Even if all the cards are not released for an expansion, I know there will be about 135 cards each expansion. It takes about 220 packs to get every card in an expansion. There are about 4 months between expansions, which gives me time to get as many cards as I want before the next influx of new cards.
I have played CCGs since the Mid 90's and one of the the things that I like most about Hearthstone is the dust system. Even if I get a normal pack with all duplicates, I still get 40 Dust. One day I could craft any card that I wanted, and I don't have to sit on 200 copies of a common card. Mercenaries has the ability to craft but only with specific coins. This is not the worse thing, but it does not give you any way to work toward a card.
Before Duplicate protection, I knew that worst case I could open up 40 packs and get the 1600 dust I needed to craft any card that I wanted. Since Mercenaries is not this way, I have no real guaranteed why to get all the cards. I plan to stay FTP and PVE only for this mode unless this changes.
Not really. I'm not the kind of person who can sit watching a youtube video about a game for 50 min. So i just watched quickly some passages but didn't learn much.
As usual i'm always excited to try something new. I'll try Mercenaries the first day and see how it goes. If the gameplay is fun and the pvp mode is dominant, it will be great for me. If it's mainly a pve thing, probably a pass. Not my thing to play an online game if it's to sit against a boring IA.
I will still play it. Looks like a super chill game with a lot of stuff to do. People are crying but I am sure they will also play it and it will grow on them. I hope for it to be a big success.

"... but not less than (1)" is needed now more than ever!
Well I was neutral on it before the game play, but the game play looked interesting and with enough variety in the "puzzles" you get in game play. I think it;s going to be possible to use more than 1 strategy and that a bigger collection is going to allow more experimenting, just like it does in constructed HS.
Not sure I'll care about PvP in this game mode but the PvE should definitely keep me interested for a while.

Gameplay is boring to watch but this may mean that the game is just not streamable. Also, Trump and Kripp aren't my kind of streamers... They are naturally boring (my personal taste)
I don't want to buy any packs because I will very much prefer to play the game as a proper RPG and get stuff by defeating enemies, not paying to skip. If the grind will be slow, boring, and repetitive I won't play the mode.
Gotta be honest, I didn't even watch it. Doesn't tickle my pickle at all. Besides, keeping up with regular Hearthstone is expensive enough (gold/money/time) as it is.
Hi guys, has the Mercenaries gameplay by Slysssa, Trump and Kripp changed your mind about Mercenaries? Did you even now preorder a bundle?
I have to say, that it hyped up the mode a bit for me and I am thinking about a preorder. Simply to have more fun when the game mode launches.
What do you think?
It made me make up my mind. I will not be playing that mode, at all.
It didn't change anything. I'll still want to try it first on my own before I make a judgement.
I think this type of game is more fun to play then to watch.
That's why I find those videos of Kripp and trump a bit boring.

I plan on playing it but without spending any money or gold. If it's an insane grind this way, then I'm out.

Again, I hope I'm wrong.
I'll give it a try, but my expectations are pretty low. Seeing it in action didn't really change that.
It just feels too samey with BGs - and reusing a lot of art/sound/animations already in the game just doesn't make me feel all that excited about it.
Did'nt look at it. I will give it a try, but not sure about keeping with it because no way I am spending money on this.

The preorder for Diablo is the same price for Diablo 2 resurrected… I might have been interested but they got greedy.

Did we get any more info on the costs of the mode?
I have only seen a 200 gold upgrade to unlock heroic mode, I guess?
I would like an explanation for this:
Did they explain this? No?
So, nothing is changed by my side.
I am very scared to open packs and to find a ton of coins of the same character with no use.

I will play and grind it...
...only if Activi$ion-Blizzard pays me money to do so.
