When battlegrounds launched and the community's hype and money and Hearthstone's dev resources were divided between two games. (in before someone tells me out of nowhere that Hearthstone staff tripled since Battlegrounds and Mercs were planned, it didn't, so don't) Nothing was deleted. Everything was diluted. That's when. Things just got worse with mercs.
What was diluted? Name one example instead of this "everything"
We aren't getting less stuff than before battlegrounds. We are getting more cards, more balance patches, more free content than ever before. We even got a brand new mode - duels that was released after battlegrounds.
We used to have 1 great game in Hearthstone. We now have 3 shit games. Probably more to come.
Was something deleted from Hearthstone in recent years or what? When and how it became shitty?
Unless they hired a bunch of new people to help develop BGs when it came out, they took people and resources away from the main game to work on BGs.
And if I'm not mistaken, the reason why we haven't had a new Tavern Brawl in a long time is because the team that worked on them is now doing Mercenaries. So there's another thing taken away from the base Hearthstone.
They are splitting up their resources to make side games instead of improving the one we originally came here for. That's not a good thing in my opinion. If you like either of these modes, good for you, but the plain fact is that these modes are taking away from HS the card game to make the HS flavour auto battler and the HS flavour whatever Mercs is.
You'd think a company that might be best known for a popular RTS game at their roots would understand how resource management works and spreading your stuff too thin isn't always a smart move.

Yep, Tavern brawls got axed. But I don't think that the real reason is not "everyone is busy doing mercenaries" but because it is not profitable enough. If it was, they would hire a "brawl guy\girl". Also lack of brawls is compensated with solo adventures.
Both Brawl and Arena (and now Duels) are there because maintenance cost is minimal while truly improving them isn't worth it (at least in the eyes of whoever makes decisions about Hearthstone), interestingly enough, solo adventures seem to be quite useful, otherwise, we wouldn't see the book of Mercenaries
You are assuming that if no battlegrounds\mercs Team 5 would have the same time and work on something you like. It isn't guaranteed. They could just reduce the size of the team
Yes, we sure ain’t buying that crap, but it seems like that on their way of trying to push this new game mode, they lost sight of what’s the value proposition of hearthstone - that is their electronic card game. Unless they’re thinking this new game will totally replace HS in the future from a $ standpoint. Right now their entire wild meta is POS of discard quest warlock and the dumbass developers are focusing on mercenaries. Make sense why this meta is so retarded lol
Let me ask you this. How would you feel if WoW and Overwatch came directly into the Hearthstone client ? The games and the monetizations that come with them. Would that make sense to you ? Would you feel ok spending money in hearthstone at that point ? How many games and ways to spend money inside hearthstone client does it take for you to say enough ? I guess you will answer my the usual "b-b-but its the same with battlenet client, it's just one more click now" then how about a game client inside a game client inside a game client ? Again, how long until this is enough ? How many click does it take to access hearthstone after you've clicked on Hearthstone before this is enough ? Why not just stick to 1 client for all blizzard games and stop shady shitty stuff that will punish both Blizzard and the community for basically no reason ?
I would be perfectly fine with that. I would ignore the games I don't care about, just like I currently ignore Arena and Battlegrounds. It would not reduce the amount I spend on Hearthstone, because why should it?
Are you really this pissed off about the number of clicks it takes to play Hearthstone? They didn't even increase that number. Now you click a button that says "Hearthstone" instead of one that says "Play." It's the same number of clicks.
These games are all on the same client because they all share the same software engine. WoW and Overwatch are not bundled in with card games because they do not share any code. Moreover, they are less likely to share a common fan base than these various card games do. There are perfectly good reasons for structuring these clients the way they have. Yes, it's partially about marketing, but it's just as much about simple efficiency.
And finally, I consider the ability to share gold extremely important. If I could not share gold between Hearthstone and Mercenaries, it would make me much less likely to continue playing both games at once. They cannot "steal" your gold by offering you another way to spend it. If you don't want to spend it on something, that's up to you and you alone.
In the end, if you don't like the way Mercenaries is monetized or presented, don't play it. If you think Hearthstone has gone too far downhill (regardless of why), don't play it. If you think everyone else is crazy for spending money on and playing games you don't enjoy, that's not really your problem or your business. Weird arguments about numbers of clicks aren't going to change any minds.

If you think everyone else is sane for spending money on and playing games you enjoy, that's not really your problem or your business. See how ridiculous that sounds ? That's no argument that's just words. I don't think anyone is crazy by the way. There's no crazy in this world, only delusion, ignorance and evil. I know what Blizzard is, but what are you ? I'm ignorance. You must be delusion then.
I'm not here to change any mind, only to share my opinion on forums that are made for this and THAT is not your business. I have so much more arguments than you pretend, you had a lot too, we spent a shit ton of time saying stuff on this topic, I'm just tired of repeating myself an you probably are too, let's just agree to disagree on this one, we agree on many things it's no big deal why do you seem so personally involved in making people believe there is nothing wrong with what they did with Mercs ?
If you think everyone else is sane for spending money on and playing games you enjoy, that's not really your problem or your business. See how ridiculous that sounds ?
That does not sound ridiculous. That sounds normal. I do not keep making posts all over the place saying, "Way to go, guys! You are all super sane for liking this game! Keep up the good work!"
why do you seem so personally involved in making people believe there is nothing wrong with what they did with Mercs ?
I understand that it can be hard to see this, but my primary motivation is to combat misinformation and flaws in logic. In several cases, I have advised people that Mercenaries might not be the right game for them and that they should not bother playing it. I have told you several times that you should ignore it since it bothers you so much.
Spreading unreasonable negativity based on incorrect information, bad logic, and personal vendettas against a company is generally considered to be bad etiquette, and I am always happy to point that out.
So yes, I agree to disagree, but don't expect me to ignore your false claims and faulty arguments.

My negativity isn't unreasonable nor based or incorrect information, bad logic and personal vendetta. My claims aren't false and my arguments aren't faulty (mostly). I have told you several times that I don't need you to tell me what to do, I will ignore whatever I want whenever I want, or won't, this has nothing to do with you, or this discussion at all. Me ignoring Mercs won't solve any of the issues I pointed out and you thinking they are unreasonable or faulty issues makes no difference in how I feel about it, and how I want to express my feelings about it.
We can't agree to disagree if we're not going to ignore each other on this topic, and I'm too polite or stupid to ignore someone who's talking to me, so please ignore my claims that you personaly believe are false within your own logic system.

You keep making baseless, inflammatory comments -- the very definition of a troll -- and telling people not to reply to you. Well, I'm not going to give you the satisfaction. Keep saying false and spurious things, and I will keep shooting you down. If you don't like it, you can ignore me.
I have a feeling that this post might just age like milk once the mode releases.
I'm just gonna play the game when it comes out (and hopefully have fun), honestly this is aging like fine vinegar, I didn't expect so much heat it's funny
I've spent a lot on regular packs, but I plan to not buy any pre-orders for Mercenaries and play the mode F2P, see if it really holds up playing for free, see if I really like it, before I consider purchasing anything in the mode with $$$. Same thing I did with regular Hearthstone 4 years ago.

Blizzard could offer an actual life-size, solid gold statue of Sylvanas delivered to your home just for completing the tutorial, and free players would complain that they didn't throw in Diablo and Lich King statues as well.

F2P players need to learn that servers cost money to maintain and developers don't work for free.
You can continue to play the new game mode without paying anything, but without these packs for sale, the server won't even be running for these f2p players to play.
I say this all the time. "do you want to work for free?"

No, some of "the bad players" really really really want to buy the gacha bullshit but they can't afford it while still thinking that they deserve it for free so they whine.

lol, the you can't afford it bit....what a joke, you should change your name to douchepoint.
Well, I just watched Trump's Merc gameplay video. As every reasonable person expected - first levels of buildings cost... 0 gold. Who knew that Blizzard won't force you to spend anything to try.

when a game is broken af and they just slap new stuff on a shitty HS client yea i am gonna bitch about it
Blizzard did enlarge team 5 in the year when Battlegrounds was released. https://outof.cards/hearthstone/8-blizzard-layoffs-800-hearthstone-dev-team-size-to-increase.
