Do you remember when Hearthstone first was released? We would scramble to buy cards. I knew people who would buy packs every loss they had. Adventures every couple months. Some of which were even free. Yes,.. free! Now if you possess any kind of compulsiveness, which if you play WoW or any MMMORPG you most likely do, and you miss a month... Actually, If your someone who just likes to stay caught up. YOU CAN'T! Well, if your wealthy, have no job, and don't know what "having bills" feel like you can. I mean every month its twenty to eighty or more. And now? 120+ if you want the bundles (3 I believe), each containing a specific diamond card. Blizzard, did you not think this was not going to become public? as adults we may grasp responsibility, but what if we aren't? How many will.. Ok, I won't finish that so I am not the bad guy by putting ideas into kids heads. STOP. Just let us take a breath. Plus, not to mention the marketing You have to ask if it's "moral". Everywhere you look it's FTP (Free to play)?? Is it? Or just a way to rope in the people who are always looking at their phones? Sure this may get deleted. I find it more therapeutic then informative. But I do feel that we as hearthstone players deserve a break. This Rewards track, ever-growing diamond cards, xp instead of gold, expansion after expansion. 7 years I have played and I am not sure I can anymore. I promise you I will not be the only one.
You are looking at Mercenaries from wrong perspective. Did you notice Hearthstone login screen changed? Now theres Hearthstone, Battleground and Mercenaries. Think of HS as a platform and there is 3 different games now. You dont have to play all of them. Or do you also play all games on Battlenet client and pay for everything in all of them?
I will play it just on the side when not doing BGS/Arena/Constructed but not spending a dime on it. I already don’t like the cost of it it looks way more expensive than standard Hearthstone.
If you feel like you have to buy everything this company produces but you cannot afford to, that is very much a YOU problem.
Blizzard's (any company's) only reason for existing is to produce products and sell them. It is the consumer's job to exercise restraint and not buy every car on the sales lot, every candy bar in the checkout display, every stick of furniture at Ikea.
And no, you can't hide behind "compulsiveness" as a defense. If you truly have a personality disorder, it's up to you to stay away from things that trigger it. It is not some random company's job to babysit your mental problems.
The idea that Blizzard is doing something wrong by offering merchandise to the public is the dumbest idea that keeps reappearing on these forums.

I mean, with how much they've improved rewards, you really only need to buy the pass and that's it. That's all I buy anymore and I'm sitting on 2kish gold and 20k dust atm, while comfortably able to play whatever deck I want. The game has honestly become at least twice as f2p friendly in just the past year, imo.
I can only speak for myself, but they've come in with too high a price point.
45 quid is a lot of money to spend on a game mode, let alone multiple bundles of 45 quid. There's no way I'd even consider playing that before giving the game mode a reasonable amount of time.
It makes me wonder who the target audience for these bundles are.
I have a feeling it will be much faster to farm all mercernaries rewards and levels and whatnot, than it is to farm expansion sets.
I usually pre order pretty much everything but this time I'll pass because it seems to me I will unlock everything by just playing the game mode, unlike normal hearthstone that is nearly impossible to get all cards as F2P
Maaaaybe I'll take the Sylvanas package cause it's cheaper and I'm the biggest sylvanas simp.

So, I kind of agree with this, my money my problem, but you also have to agree this company (and many others) uses predatory tactics that target exactly this kind of people to trigger them. I'm pretty sure compulsive people are literally their business model.
You would say the same about an alcoholic or drug addict, and you would be right. It's up to you to stay away from things that poison you. But that wouldn't help the addict at all, because he's already caught up in this, so it's not exactly up to him anymore.
Casinos are legal in this world so, I guess you're just right in the end, it's up to us, but it's not easy.
Don't get me wrong -- I agree that Hearthstone and related products are WAY too expensive. But saying there are too many things to buy because you have to buy all of them is just crazy talk.
I mean yeah you don't have to buy everything of course, but different pre orders for different game modes feels kinda lame seriously, it's really becoming 2 separate games at this point
I won't be p/aying this new mode. If I wanted this I'd go to the play store and play some other p2w trash app.
As a player who's been here since Beta, regularly legendary and a mod in these very forums. Not just my interest has lessened over the years from burn out but my want to support what's left of the shell that once was Blizzard.

To be clear when I said "public.. I meant become a public debate. Which if this stays up, a debate is what it will become. Bring it trolls!
Can I get a TL:DR?
Or at least like... some sentence spacing?
Yes, mercenaries seem crazy expensive. Hearthstone is really becoming out of control.
Can't wait for the memes about Blizz after this 10000th debacle
Maybe just don't play that mode? I dunno, just spit ballin' ideas.
