If you're so convinced the game is rigged to the point you have no say in your win rates etc then why the fuck are you playing the game? How monumentally stupid are you? Your wins? Nothing to do with you. Your losses? Not your fault, rigged.
Anyone who genuinely believes this but continues to pump their time into not only the game, but coming in this forum and crying about it is just dense.
The second I became convinced of anything like this in any game or even any other activity in life, I'd be long gone. If it's rigged then what on earth is the point?
More likely, it's crap players with crap attitudes. Just do something else with your time then. If you honestly think it is and has always been rigged then it's completely pointless playing, isn't it? Nothing you do matters, you only win because the game decided for you to, so you never win through your experience, skill or knowledge, so what are you getting from it?
Ever notice how literally nobody ever comes to the forum and says the RNG is rigged in their favour?
Exactly.
Ever notice how literally nobody ever comes to anywhere and says something is rigged in their favour?
Exactly, people doing so would be really stupid: when something good happens to you, you usually shut up and take advantage of your "good luck".
Do you notice the nonsense you just said? Why are you going to complain about your "good luck"? If you find 10 bucks on the floor, are you going to complain? OMFG
The point is that 'good luck' is perfectly fine and you just accept winning five times in a row or finding 10 bucks, but when the opposite happens and you lose five times in a row or 10 bucks it's suddenly rigged and the world is out to get you.
That's what is called bias and it's a natural human thing to notice and remember the bad things more prevalent than the good ones. The counter to that is to understand how randomness works, that it swings in both directions.
Install a deck tracker and play a larger number of games with a deck. Check how the numbers truly are after a while and post them here.
Yes, can confirm the entire game was created just to screw with you personally. The jig is up, the secret is out, you did it OP! /s
In other news, RNG can be a bitch sometimes.
why you being a dick? its true that hs is rigged, they've even admitted it themselves they rig the matchmaking so players get around a 50% win-rate. It's clear they queue you into deck counters, this issnt hard to do with the research. Look at Zeph and how it instantly finds the perfect card.
I understand sarcasm is a hard concept for some to grasp, but considering how far fetched OP's post is, it deserved it. Is MTG Arena rigged as well? Gwent? Legends of Runeterra? Please enlighten me oh wise one, what does Zephs crystal ball tell you the answer is?
People who dont understand statistics and numbers tend to perform weaker at the game, hence having lower winrates. Having a problem you dont understand making you underperform in a game is ofcourse frustrating. Typically they will also tend to blame everyone but thenselves for the bad performance.
It's not rigged, it's you loosing much and dropping your mmr especially in diamond 5.
When you loose so much and get pissed and try counter deck, guess what - other loosers think the same and go with counter decks as well.
Win more and you will have no problems. Git gud issue
This is nonsense… dumbest comment on this thread. Maybe “rigged” has such a toxic connotation that fanboys here get triggered easily. The game is “highly controlled” might be better. I don’t waste my time beating myself up for losses nor do I put myself, or any other legend player, on a pedestal because I know that at the end of the day it really boils down to luck. Of course we all make mistakes whilst playing but they can be corrected eventually… might take longer for some but usually still corrected. But there will be days you win a lot and days you can’t do anything but lose. By in large, this game is “highly controlled” by Blizz and their business plan supports that strategy.
Actually, I had the same problem, and then I contacted their support service, they confirmed that my account is rigged and fixed it that very same day, now I don't feel robbed anymore, you should try it, good luck.
If you own a product which earn you tons of money you will probably do everything as well to control every aspect of it. This is understandable from the owner's side and it can be a frustrating experience at the player's side.
I mean, you are not wrong. But we need to ask 2 questions if we think the game is rigged:
1. How much profit increase does have Blizzard by rigging the game?
2. How much can they lose if its ever get confirmed?
So do you think its worth for the company? Because I think any sane person would just quit the game as soon as there is a proof of rigged rng. And I also think that rigging their game would NOT increase their profits at all.

Sorry friend… but “yes” it is very much worth it to this company… if you don’t think it will increase their profits then I don’t know what to say without sounding condescending. Controlling winrates, matchups, even card draw is very beneficial to the bottom line.

I dont know about you, but my winrate doesnt affect my spendings on the game.

It would if you lost every game because you wouldn't play anymore, unless you were a masochist.

Fucking brain dead community, honestly.
Maybe it's not rigged to 100% make you "lose", but only to increase the chances of having a very bad matchup. And considering how deck archetypes and metas have been defined by legendaries (quests being the easiest to check for) and maybe specific epics, it's not so far fetched that these "pushed" meta decks are considered in the MM, based on *some* of their cards. Individual card win rates and such don't matter for this (they are more related to making sure a certain card is used and is viable, on a more global scale, to make sure there are enough of those decks to counter others and/or be countered by others).
Why do so many people get sand in their vaginas over this topic? It's like you're insulting their favourite hot tub streamer or something.
It is very simple to understand: for fanboys, Blizzard is the absolute good, it does everything perfectly, it is... their GOD, and no one can criticize it or do anything other than worship it. They are basically a sect.
They will NEVER attend to reasons, no matter how logical or how much evidence they are presented, they are dazzled by the magnanimity of their god, and will attack with unusual fury whoever dares to attack him. After all, the fanboys are the white knights Blizzard needs to sustain itself, especially in these dark times...
The proof is that this thread will be closed in not long, like all the other threads on this subject that have preceded it... there are things that should not be known...
If you own a product which earn you tons of money you will probably do everything as well to control every aspect of it. This is understandable from the owner's side and it can be a frustrating experience at the player's side.
That's the real problem, that despite the overwhelming amount of facts showing that neither this game nor this company deserves a single penny from us, there are still millions people who waste thousands of dollars every year on it. It's a real pity, but it is the type of society with which we happen to live.
Even if I play a tier 1 deck something happens at D3. Suddenly I start losing even vs decks that are unfavoured. I get lousy mulligan, lousy draw and they get everything perfect and win.
Then people told me: It's the matchmaking.
Is it? Ok let's start sending friend invitations to these "better players". Oohh surprise surprise. They are not at all better ranked than me. Let's watch them and see if they reach legend. Oooh surprise surprise. They are also stuck in a loop and can't get higher. So why are they "better"according to MM? Because they are not. It is BS. It is obvious that the system has decided that I have to lose and it matches me vs someone who has to win, no matter what deck we are playing.

Probably you're right about this one - rigging doesn't incrase profit directly. But indirectly?
Maybe I'm mistaken and there is nothing here other than RNG and my pattern-seeking mind but I find it possible that their matchmaking algorithm has some kind of control just to keep players in check purely because to make people reach their goals slower so they spend more time in-game. It's not an evil thing tho, not personal attacks against the players.
We dont have a proof that they are rigging their game. We also dont have a proof that they dont. Im just trying to think logically. What would I do as a Blizzard CEO if I wouldnt care about anything just profits.
Most "rigging theorists" are just focusing on what would Blizz gain if they are rigging HS. I dont think its much, but its another story. What they dont consider, what could Blizz lose if its ever proven. Im pretty sure they would lose at least 90% of the playerbase. So if I would be that evil money-hungry CEO, I would ask myself: does it worth the risk? Probably not.

I like this, because of a sweet thought exercise: if Hearthstone was mine, how would I increase profits? That'd be easy: cosmetics, fear-of-missing-out bundles, season pass, daily login rewards, gambling mechanics. Oh wait, we already openly do all of those. Maybe I should go deeper: manipulate RNG. But what do I do with that, force some people to lose more? That won't work, some people do spend more on packs on a loss streak but others just quit. Maybe make players who spent money on the game win more? That won't work, they'll have achieved their ladder goals and won't see fit to purchase more stuff because they already have everything they need. Since it's a crapshoot either way, maybe I can just leave the MMR to do its own thing since winstreaks and loss streaks naturally happen on their own and there's no need to tamper with it?
Besides, why hide the fact that MMR is rigged in the first place? For any sane person, the tactics I mentioned above would've been more than enough to make them steer away from the game. Everything I mentioned are cheap and transparent predatory practices, so what would one more be when added to the pile? Because some people might go away? So what. Everyone knows casinos are rigged and favor the house but you still get millions of people that try their luck every month around the world.
Like I implied in my previous post, I'm certain there's some level of rigging done to matchmaking, but I really doubt it's anywhere near the level of forcing losses.
Well, if this isn't the ten thousandth time this discussion has been raised.
Tell you what. Let's settle this debate once and for all, with the good old fashioned scientific method. With hard data. We as the hearthstone playerbase were able to use data to pin down the pity timer for pack openings – and we can find out the truth on this topic too.
its nice to see people like 3nnui and Nefiret who takes the time to answer this threads with solid arguments... I ve been saying that HS its rigged since the beginning... 5 years ago this posts were full of negationist blizz fans (just monkeys with keyboards)... its nice to see now that more people its on the rigged boat but like someone said: in short this post will be shut down
