Maybe it is an unpopular opinion, maybe not but I love this expansion.
I am an old beta player, I was very disappointed with Blizzard's work in the last two years of expansions, terrible for me. This? Fantastic.
I was very sceptical of this expansion after the release of the cards. Quests again for the third time? How boring. I was wrong. They are fun.
The reason is simple. In this expansion, for the first time, there is a real class identity and the characters now real remember Warcraft.
Priest has finally a shadow version
Quest demon hunter seems to be in motion with all card draw
Quest hunter looks like a real hunter now that he shoots arrows
Warlock and mage are also aligned towards a class identity
Paladin with a divine shield is an archetype
Sure, there are classes that are broken, like a mage in standard and lock in wild, therefore this expansion is not perfect. Especially wild, it is unplayable, only lock there. Anyway, this is for me one of the best expansions if not the best.
Game is finally fresh, new with a high-class identity and I love it. Sure, games are faster, and cards that cost more than 7 mana are hardly playable but I don't care, finally, the game seems to have modernized.
Another amazing thing is legendaries. They are good finally. I was sick of opening packs and finding legendary junk that I would never play. Now they are finally almost all strong.
I was only a rogue player since the beta and now for the first time, I am having fun with other classes. I love this expansion.
I am really enjoying the Year of the Gryphon as well. I think Barrens and Stormwind are nice. The Core Set is a good start and Mini Expansions great. While I think that the Quests may be a little to fast to complete, they are worth playing.
I get why a lot of people are not happy with this expansion... and honestly, in the beginning, I was a bit miffed by all the aggro stuff... but I've come to get used to it.
It's just the way the game is right now. Gotta improvise, adapt, overcome!
Furthermore, the class flavour is pretty good this expansion, too. Whether people like it or not, they have to admit that each class feels very distinct, in their own fantasy ways. It's great to see. :)
I'm enjoying it too, when I'm not against Paladin (because there are so many) or Warlock (just broken). Mage is not nearly as big a deal as people are making it out to be.
One thing that has made it fun for me is working on achievements. Doing those makes Ranked play feel a lot less grindy. Just start at a floor (5 or 10) and focus on the achievement, not your rank. I did this, and before I knew it I was almost to the next floor! (I did switch to a slightly more tryhard deck when I realized how close I was.) Rinse and repeat!
You might be surprised how many games you can win with a decent off-meta deck against bad players who only know how to beat the same old stuff they see all the time.
Yeah, i'm really enjoying that control players got totally boned. Isnt it great? You either finish the game by turn 6 or you lose to solitaire combo decks. It's easy to enjoy when a third of players get screwed over. the others love it
Another amazing thing is legendaries. They are good finally. I was sick of opening packs and finding legendary junk that I would never play. Now they are finally almost all strong.
More than half of the legendaries in this expansion is still unplayable, you are just one of those that fortunately did not open them in packs.
Its the first time in history that no control deck is viable. I would say also no midrange deck. Why? Because combo and aggro is the only way to play. I cant imagine people that have fun with this state. Every card that cost 7 mana or more is not even playable (in terms you cant play them because you are dead on turn 6). How can people have fun with 5 minute games? Its solitäre at that point or mindless face race. I love the expansion also because the cards are so cool. But the things that have risen at the first day is even worse that everything you could face in wild. Standard is worse than wild. And wild decks have no chance to win vs them also. Its a sad time. Dont know what you find good abou that...

"... but not less than (1)" is needed now more than ever!
My favourite playstyle is attrition. Ive played attrition priest since 2014, been slowly working on it and improving it over time. Even in karazhan when priest was the meme class, I made it work. For the first time ever, im putting the deck away. This expansion released numerous win condition cards that are truly unstoppable-not a single card in the game can neutralize it, even in wild. You just have to kill them. We've seen some before, with taunt quest warrior, jade druid, kingsbane rogue, but those all have answers now. I sincerely dont know how they can possibly print a card that neutralizes the new quest lock or quest mage. Even elwynn boar, I cant think of a way to beat that deck in fatigue (not relevant now, but its yet another deck that i cannot reasonably stop should I run into it). So, until they stop seeing play, I have to abandon the deck that I loved playing for so long. Feels bad.
I think it's pretty boring, everything is just face-face-face. A whole archetype is unplayable now but I guess people who are happy never played Control.
I'm having a ton of fun this expansion, both in standard and wild. In standard my mmr is low enough that I can actually play quest priest and win more than I lose with it and in wild quest druid and shadow priest are surprisingly viable and a lot of fun to play.
And yes, since this is a competitive game, I couldn't give a thimbful of jizz about my opponent's fun, mine is what matters and I'm having metric tons of it. Best expansion in the past few years, hands down.

Is Handbuff Pally - one of the statistically strongest decks in the meta - combo or aggro in your book? I definitely don't consider it either.
Okay now you can love the combo-based expansion, but claiming the solitaire meta is the best meta seems almost not worthy of opinion.
But it's their opinion. Saying their opinion is "not worthy" is your OPINION. Not right or wrong, but if they love this meta then good for them.
Meh, it’s a slippery slope. It can be someone’s opinion that stealing from someone is good. Definitely makes their opinion wrong.
I’m not gonna deep dive into it, but there’s little healthy about a meta where a slew of decks don’t care whatsoever about what the enemy is doing, and are just trying to draw and play cards by turn X.
I went from facing Minionless mage 8/10 games last expansion to 10/10 games this expansion, pretty hype.
Sad when people lie just to try and drive the narrative they want to be true. Does it make you feel better or something?
OP, good to see you're enjoying it. It's a touch fast for my liking but I've been dabbling in wild and so I'm splitting my time between the modes anyway. They've definitely done some proper work on identities and the classes do all feel very different.
I have this strange love/hate relation with this expansion. In one way I think the "solitaire" effect is unhealthy and set an odd tempo bar for deck building, but I'm still having lots of fun and I think that one can still influence the opponents playing with enough pressure. We have a lot of scary decks that never seem to be a guaranteed win/loss
I used to play a ton of hearthstone, since a couple of weeks I hardly play. Why? Cause I mostly like to play control, so I feel somewhat abandoned. It's also truly unfun to play against quest mage or warlock

As a combo player? That's how you interact with HS' combo, always has been. Most decks can't get enough pressure for the current meta, though, combo is tuned tighter than I'd like. Also I usually play Wild, which is an utter mess right now.
