It shows the card you traded. You can also be found out by an opponent Rogue or Demon Hunter peeking at your deck or hand, or a Priest copying your cards.
Another annoying thing is if you play cloak of shadows when you reveal yourself as a rouge, you lose stealth. That seems like it should trigger in reverse or the card has an anti synergy.

That's unfortunate - I can definitely get behind those other methods being fair game since it's the opponent discovering something, but I feel like when you trade the Extortion it should show that you traded your fake class' respective trade card if that makes sense

Same with Yoink! it give you the HP then change to Rogue - I pretty much just try to make my first Rogue card be the Maestra herself or a 3 cost draw card
Am I the only one who thinks there should be another upside (besides the intel upperhand) to Maestra? Something like "neutral cards have +1/+1 while you don't reveal yourself"? I love this style of cards, like I love Renounce Darkness but find that there is no real reason to play it.

I can understand that but I agre with you it would be better if it didn't work like that

Only for the achievements
Wouldn't this also reveal yourself though? Perhaps "Battlecry: Upgrade your hero power"? I don't think having a delayed 2/2 weapon would break anything (certainly not in this meta)
Yea I also wish Maestra would have some additional effect. Maybe even that she enters as random 2 drop and only when player targets her with spell or minion attack and confirms the attack it will reveal itself to 3/2, or being killed by AoE.
But some additional battlecry would be nice.

"Minion to minion the basic of all combats, only a fool trusts his win to an OTK"
Play the cards that generate spells like scorpion to get a different class set of spells to have some fun. Also the dragon lady that transforms all your cards into dragons. It’s a fun deck.
I tried it with Watch Posts, ogremancers, cheesemongers, and generated cards, and it actually won a few games (especially against spell decks). But overall, it's just bad.

I'm still a little lost, and I drew this card from a pack last week, but couldn't figure out what to do with it
other than the "shock factor", what's the endgame here? Like, is there some win condition that can be pulled off by playing a sudden rogue card after pretending to be another class?
edit: I also just tested this with Tess Greymane, and none of the spells cast.. so I continue to be confused
also also, do dual class spells reveal the disguise?

There is no endgame inherent in this card. It's up to you to find a reason to hide your class from the other player. So far, no one has come up with a competitively viable reason to do that, given the deckbuilding drawback of using a lot of neutral cards and the gameplay need hold your class cards until later in the game.
I was trying to use burst damage from Wicked Stab (Rank 3) to close out games, but it's pretty hard to survive that long without using class cards. Watch Towers got me there a few times, but only against very slow decks.

I would have liked her to be a copy of a legendary of that class, like Lady Prestor does for dragons, but upgrading the hero power works too. This card is infinitely interesting and really utilizes hearthstone's digital nature cleverly, but it is nothing more than a cute gimmick. If it just had ANYTHING USEFUL as a battlecry or something, we might have had something.
Hi, just had a quick question on Maestra of the Masquerade
I know you don't change to Rogue if you trade SI:7 Extortion but does it show that you traded the Rogue card or does it show a different one?
I'm the only fool dumb enough to be running this card right now so I haven't encountered it, just done it :)
Thanks in advance!

Is Maestra of the Masquerade in duel pools? i want to complete achievement but dont have the card
it's not, sorry
Nope it’s banned in duels so I don’t think u can get in the pool
Even if they just made Maestra of the Masquerade Tradeable, she'd be so much better.

If u started with card of that class that u transform into that would make him 10x better

Yes, if Rogue is one of the classes.

For me the main reason to play this card was for Mill rogue deck.
