Blizzard crossed so many lines with this expansion, they cant just "nerf" some cards imho cause this time, wich is different from other scenarios, the whole "Game/Set-Design" in it's core is the problem
I returned to HS after 2 years and fairly enjoyed the meta of forged in the barrens. I thought "this is not as aggressive and broken as back in the days".
But man, that is over now. I just won 3 games in a row but had to stop, i did not enjoy it at all.
Every single quest deck aside from a few oddballs play little to no minions. This is genuinely the epiphany of solitaire. Mages just play cards and barely interact until they kill you. So do hunters, demon hunters, warlocks and druids. It's peak uninteractivity. Strange thing is that these quests are genuinely fun, which is why many will pretend this isn't a problem.
Easiest fix is just to make the quest steps a bit harder. But even then some other broken shit will peek its head, or we go back to the same barrens 90% shaman meta
At this point I only farm achievements. There’s nothing else I haven’t completed except Duels. I don’t care about them but I’ll eventually have to get the achievements there as well I guess.
There is simple way of fixing the problem, just make every quest like the priest one, for the final reward you need to play 7 and 8 mana cost card, that means you won't get reward until turn 8. Problem solved lol.
But yes with this expansion this game completely crumbled to dust. there is no point of releasing cards that cost more than 5 mana anymore. Control would need 3 mana deal 3 damage to all minions and gain 10 armor to survive. Or some broken ass shit. The quests need harder completion line and the fact that it gives you partial rewards along the way is just powercreep.

I have some hope left for wild.
if you wanna have fun just play wild casual. i hit d5 in wild ranked with pirate warrior fast for rewards and i switched to casual to play fun decks. if you encounter deck u dont wanna play against, just quit and start next game. you wont lose anything and you also have high chance to encounter another fun, homebrew decks. works for me.
That's funny because the best decks in the game right now (Quest Rogue, Buff Paladin, Elemental Shaman, Face Hunter) play minions and use these minions to kill you, but they are also interact with enemy minions if any are played...
I agree this shitshow is unfixable lol... I think im gonna quit personally. Maybe in a year or so I'll poke my head over the fence, see whats up, and probably puke... I admire you guys that are sticking around though, takes a lot of mental fortitude to put up with this nonsense.
The dude is right and i don't understand why are you not agreeing with him?!
People here are probably the same ones defending Elon Musk and saying he's perfect
You are absolutely right my brother. This expansion ir ridiculously broken. Theres nothing more frustrating than playing against quest mage or quest warlock. Retarded imbeciles that defend it are indeed the same retarded imbeciles that has the balls of the psicopath billionaire on their mouth.
I don’t really care very much for what the quests have brought, and I can’t imagine any nerfs that are going to change the game. Combo decks were never the most interactive and rarely as consistent as the quests allow you to be. The design philosophy has moved towards shorter games for a while, and this expansion feels like Team 5 wanted to prove they can deliver that experience with a set that could focus on combo rather than aggro.
Nerfs could probably slow these quests down but I have a hard time imagining Blizzard giving a rework that pushes these designs towards interactivity.
The other issue is card draw. Combos in the past required you to dig through your deck for a specific card and then to have to wait for the conditions to be right to unveil your combo; e.g. Raza-Anduin, Malygos, Antonidas. The combos of old were not looking for any one of six fire spells in deck, you had to design a deck that could put your specific cards in hand and also stall until they had accumulated.

before this expansion 10-mana cards were unplayable, now anything above 7 is unplayable..
The meta just gets worse and worse with each expansion mean streets of gadgetzen was so fun :(
The Games is just broken and out of control.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
Quickest solution with quests, in my opinion, is make all quest revards shuffle in to the deck, like priest have.

Take a walk on the wild side...

I know you hate hearing the truth about this game and wish I would stop pointing it out.
I switched into the duels-only mode... It is less insane.
