Am I the only who thinks this expansion has been a complete failure? unless you're playing the new braindead mage with infinite 0 mana pyroblasts or warlock which completely kills any form of control archetype. Blizzard are out of touch with the community imagine spending 80 bucks pre ordering this trash
I won't say the expension failed, but this is not my cup of tea. There is little to none interaction on the board which makes it more of a single player game. For the first time since I play (which is since Naxx), i'm sadly letting standard rest for a while... I also really enjoy playing BG! Which helps ofcourse.
I know there's a portion of the community that thinks every expansion is the "worst so far," but to your point, I feel like the whole mage quest thing was figured out super quickly. I haven't really played vs warlock much yet, but at this point I just want Blizz to do whatever it takes to give as many classes as possible a space in the meta, because, honestly, the questlines are pretty damn cool (and so are decks like Evolve Shaman and handbuff Paladin).
I'm just stating facts, if they want people to keep investing a LOT of money into the game, they can at least test these things and make the game more accessible
I think the investment/payoff in the quests is generally too low/high and they complete far too quickly (except priest who got completely shafted even though their ultimate quest reward is literally "win the game" - good luck playing 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 mana cards then a 5 mana then draw a 10 mana card with no card draw when everyone is dead by turn 6 to 8...)
I usually don't open this kind of topic but unfortunately this time maybe the "Worst Expansion Ever" is justified.
Feels other game entirely, like all decks are playing Solitaire and the one get your pieces faster win, in an extreme playing minions on board become almost pointless.
This is subjective but for me this is the worst meta and the worst expansion since Naxx when I start playing.

No, you're not the only one. In fact, the answer to ANY question that starts with "am I the only one" is always no.
No, it's not the worst expansion though, not even close.
Yes, combo decks destroy control decks and it has always been the case and it's not a problem at all.
No, you're not forced to play mage or warlock.
I can imagine spending 80 bucks cause I did it and don't regret it.

Imagine another worst launch ever thread every single time an expansion comes out. There’s the door, see yourself out.
There's fun to be had but unfortunately it feels like they didn't intend the quests to be this powerful and perhaps rewards will likely eat a nerf (perhaps pushing Mage and Warlock rewards to 7 mana 7/7s?). I wouldn't move any of the others yet as it would probably nuke their viability.
I can't imagine they wanted Gadgetzan Auctioneer to be a force in the meta and all the Old Gods to become obsolete overnight (since games don't really go to turn 9/10 anymore).

Except there are a crap load of people who love to play combo, and right now there are a minimum of four combo otk decks out.
It’s always funny when people go “the worst launch ever” or “worst meta ever” when it is 100% an opinion article.
You’re absolutely entitled to it, but I could easily argue that metas involving just “oh look, everyone’s playing minion based tempo decks and just fighting for the board” are super boring.
There’s combo-stone and there’s curve-stone. One player either gets all their combo pieces before the other and wins, or gets the better curve and wins.
The Expansion is the biggest disaster in the history of HS and im playing since beta
Rogue OTKs me Turn 6 ( S I X ) in "Standard" Format
Insane Cardraw / Solitaire / OTK - That is what the Game is all about
I think the problem is people expect the standard meta to be much weaker and slower than the wild meta, because that has historically been the case. But you forgot that powercreep exists so the power level difference between standard and wild tends to disappear.
And I guess people don't like that, but we all knew it was coming since pretty much the beginning, cause that's how card games work, that's how they can sell packs and generate hype.
People think this expansion is too powerful for their taste but the last thing they want is another TGT and they won't know it until we get another TGT, at which point people will complain again, and Blizzard will be like WTF, you literally enjoy nothing, no weak cards, no strong cards, what are we supposed to do ?
Kobolds and Catacombs was also considered a crazy powerful set at the time and some people complained about it, but who TODAY thinks this was a bad expansion ?

You're probably not the only one but that doesn't necessarily mean you're right. Mind you, this is a subjective issue, so there's no right or wrong.

Hah! GOTEM.
Take that Blizzard! Someone hates this expansion! Go cry in your piles of money and think about what you've done.
They'll do it better for the next one. They'll analyze your constructive criticism posted here and make sure to improve.
Thanks!
Hoping for some quick nerfs on quest mage and warlock.

Last time the game didn't suck (in my book) I was playing my Inspire Shadow Priest deck. Feels like 25 years ago.
Take a walk on the wild side...
Now look at the state of shadow priest, mediocre support whilst other classes get endless draw and burn damage...
I do not like to direction they went for expansion, quite a few people seem to agree.
