Wrong, everybody who is provoked by the title disagrees with me. Neither the people posting in this thread nor all the people posting at hearthpwn are even slightly representing the player base. In fact, the „everyone’s“ you’re talking about are what? 30 people? Do you think that 30 people having a different opinion then me really bothers me? It says nothing about if the majority of players likes or dislikes this exp. it just shows that 30 people angry enough to post here don’t like the game
The overall reaction from both the fan base and streamers seems pretty negative. When even I’m whining… there’s clearly a problem. I insisted that Galakrond Shaman wasn’t too oppressive ffs.
Surely all the people saying ‘love the new expansion and games being over 7 turns’ can see how unhealthy this is for the game. I’m not sure anyone wants to see fatigue priest mirrors or warriors with 100 armour but this trend of turning the game into 5 minutes of just puking your hand on to the board/face is not going to end well in the long run.
Then again I get the feeling a lot of people don’t really care about the game overall and just want to get their kicks looking at pretty colours and getting ‘wins’ without having to engage their brain cells, including actiblizz who are I think are just going into milking mode before running the game into the ground.
In THEORY, yes. But as long as the Quest rewards forcing you to play your own game so you dont have to interact with your opponent at all, its just the biggest fail in History of HS.
When finishing my own quest is all i have to do to win the game, why would i interact with my opponent ?
70% Removal und Cardraw, 30% support cards for my quest and thats it, thats how the decks look like atm.
Every class plays his own game, the Quest design is just fail and the game is not fun to play
So the op enjoys a meta where you don’t care what card your opponent plays, there is no interaction at all whatsoever and you only focus on completing a quest in order to otk… you may as well play against a bot rather than an actual player as the experience is exactly the same
Not really, bots tend to trade way more.
At this point blizz should just release: "0 mana; Starts the game in your hand; toss a coin, head you win, tails you loose. ". Although it still might be to slow for some people, so maybe add something like: autocast this at the start of the game.
Why bother to load the match at all :)? Just make small notification in the right corner of the screen, telling you about the outcome...
And if you buy the tavern pass for the season, you'll be guaranteed a 51% win rate just to get the blood pumping a bit more now and then ;)
Business model solved. Complaining and balance issues solved. Wow, Hearthstone has never been better!
Played since beta, and lost interest recently but thought to give it another run, especially as this expansion looked good. But minion combat is what is fun, though seems not important to the devs anymore. Am f2p and got the Mage quest out of only 5 packs opened, but I don’t want to use it. I want to think, not spew out my hand and blast face damage.
The streamers I am watching are having a great time. Best expansion ever for wild. And that is important, although people here always claim otherwise , by numbers standard is less popular globally. And the wild meta is fast for years now, with the average game ending on 5-8, with 8 mana already being late game. Still, there are enough people playing slow stuff for control mirrors to happen. But even they tend to end around turn 10. fatigue never happens unless both players are playing odd warrior. That’s what happens when new and interesting cards are printed. Standard gets faster too, and honestly that’s great. Everytime I play it i am bored as hell by how slow it is and how limited the card pool is. There have always been “uninteractive” decks in history, and they habe one thing in common: people rage, although the winrate is horrible most of the times, as they lose to aggro hard. And minion combat does happen - in aggro mirrors and in aggro vs midrange/ control. Still, standard people will get what they want, and the cool new cards will be gone from wild since unplayable. The quests are already really bad, and they won’t survive a nerf in wild. I doubt that they are that good in standard either. Face Hunter and handbuff Paladin destroy them, as does burn rouge. And against face Hunter, handbuff paladin and other Aggro decks, minion combat does happen. And I do not see any difference between being doomhammered on 6, being killed by a face Hunter on 6 or destroyed by 3 giants turn 4 by darkglare wild warlock (no quest) and being killed by a quest reward on 8. Yeah sure, you can tech against the other decks a little better, but they are way more consistent and on average win faster. And if you count deck choices as tech (they are!), quest decks are even easier to tech against: aggro. just play a minion on 1 instead of giving up tempo and a card in hand for a quest, just kill them fast -> you did interact with their deck by counter queuing. Meta will become hostile for quests and they will fall off.

Brian Kibler literally left the stream sad/angry yesterday and said that today he would stream again but that he is not excited to play the game right now because the OTK decks kill him before turn 7. There are a lot of competitive players on Twitter that are making jokes about 'solitaire game' and that the meta right now is a failure. Thijs put 'Solitaire Game' as his Stream category. A lot of streamers/professional players are so fed up about the meta right now and you are here defending the OTK decks and that the streamers you are watching are having a great time. Don't lie to make your point valid.
It’s no lie. I don’t watch any of the streamers you mentioned. I do not watch a single standard streamer. The opinion of a streamer is also only an opinion. And they complain about the meta now. It’s not settled. And yeah I am defending bad otk decks

You're arguing with someone who is claiming that Wild is more popular than Standard, not really sure what you were expecting.
I fail to understand this rhetoric about not interacting with your opponent. Are removal spells or spells that damage minions not considered interactive? By interacting do people simply mean “minions that trade”? Because if that’s the case then let’s be real for a moment and admit that minion presence is almost irrelevant in this game at this point if it doesn’t involve wide early game boards, overstatted minions, or contain the rush keyword. Not all classes have access to those tools like Hunter, Warrior, Druid, etc. so the option for other classes is removal of those big minions in some shape or form.

Wild has more players than standard globally. It’s the most popular mode in Asia. And no, I don’t need your attention. I do not even want it. I just have a different opinion than you, and instead of arguing against my points (aggro beats it etc) you get personal. Maybe because you lack an actual argument?
and yeah, there are wild streamers.

Aggro is always prevalent in the first couple days, kids 🙄

Also, there are multiple people just murdering quests with aggro/board decks.
And people literally got Priest nerfed because it was so slow and boring to play against
