Quest warlock's fine... all games, either they lose so much health from aggression + enemy damage that completing their quest practically means losing the game or get their win condition somehow messed up by having already wasted most card draw besides the hero power to take damage... OR get their win condition either snatched or eaten by stuff like Shadow Hunter Vol'jin, Mindrender Illucia and Mutanus, the Devourer...
Closest that deck has to an issue is indeed Stealer of Souls, who will PROBABLY end up nerfed as it finally started causing trouble in Standard rather than just Wild, and apparently that's Blizzard's line.

A warlock that does not misplay does not have those problems, as you activate your quest on the same turn that you play tamsin. Also, I failed to kill it with a hunter, there's a bit too much healing in there, with the minion that basically heals for 8-9 guaranteed.

Yeahhh... either you take the risk and keep yourself at a healthy amount of HP or don't and just die the next turn to the 15+ damage a Face Hunter can deal... saying that from a personal experience as the Hunter too, in fact. Run Bearshark for early game pressure and half the quest decks in the current meta instantly struggle and waste resources to kill it, definitely a MVP against Warlock, Hunter, Priest and Mage right now...
Like the dude said above, if the player is good, he manages do complete the quest early while healing infinetly and playing tamsin at the same turn he completes the quest, and you just sit there watching
Personally I would just make Stealer of Souls only have the Mana to Health activate off the hero power...will that kill the card...pretty much but it still has some playability. Also this fix would allow it to be unbanned from wild obviously. Like I said above the fact the card is banned from Wild should just state how problematic this card could be potentially in a future expansion and clearly one of those cards that will limit design space, especially when Warlock got its face punched in all last meta.
Darkglare is fine and a cool interaction so far with Quest Warlock. I think putting Stealer of Souls into the ground will make the deck less like solitaire and more of the original idea of trying to balance life and death activating your quest while not putting you into a play where your going to get ganked by the opponent with a strong turn from them.
I had a 4/8 minion on board and 25 health. The Warlock I faced then otk me and drew his whole deck, and removed the minion. WTF? I just stood at watched. Had no say.
Blizzard needs to nerf this quest into the ground. This is the most powerful and easy quest to complete. Seems like Blizzard can't go a couple expansions with out ruining the meta. Easy deck to play with little skill cap. Hopefully Blizzard will swing their nerf bat soon.
With all due respect, you guys haven't met the real power players of this set if you're thinking Warlock is the issue here.
There are rogue decks popping off turn 6, and the only thing Warlock can do against them is help get to the next game faster by reducing the amount of damage needed for rogue to kill them.
The hunter decks and mage decks are still far off fully optimized and they're still racing down warlock easily.
If you're not playing the version with the voidwalker generation, even druid (if correctly played) can blitz out a 16 damage attack at the wrong moment and mow you down.
Warlock isn't the worst deck out there, but it's far from the most powerful also. It looks as though Warlock will continue to occupy the perceived position of control strangler, though in the past, that position was more imaginary than real.

Let's just be honest here there are probably going to be alot of nerfs coming in the next few weeks. Like I been speaking of Stealer of Souls in this thread but between Miracle Rogue, Quest Mage, Hunter card generation, ect Hearthstone feels like solitaire right now.
These quests are fun don't get wrong but I can't imagine the team is happy right now with all these OOPS All OTKs and no minion combat going on right now.
Quest is far from op. Play aggro and kill them. There will always be control killers. I only play wild, there is stuff like mozaki mage and darkglare (better without quest) that are murdering control decks and still I climb to legend with control. Stop whining every single release. No one knows what’s good or bad right now and no one will know before at least end of next week. There is no meta yet. And I don’t see a single deck that’s op right now. Most quests just fold to aggro, quest druid seems to counter warlock and mage, and people are complaining about 5-6 different classes. That sounds pretty balanced. If mage warlock Hunter rouge druid aggro shaman and whatever else is busted, none of them is. You might not like the playstyle, but there are many different viable decks right now. Besides, as a wild player I would be happy to play against an otk as slow as the mage quest.

Funny, I've always liked OTK metas, Mecha-thun Priest and 4 dude OTK Lich King Paladin I had a blast with.
Though some OTKs I've never cared for, like the long time Druid was pretty much that.
But yes, there is a LOT of OTK in this expansion, I am not sure how effective they all are, but the Rogue and Demon Hunter ones I almost never encounter, even though they seem op, I assume getting the combo pieces is an issue for them, though I've never tried them personally.
As for Warlock, I see a lot of sub-optimized decks out there, if people think it's overrated they are probably just encountering the slew of homebrews running around.
Rogue, Hunter, Mage, Warlock, playing against one of these classes right now, and you feel like playing any kind of minion that isn't towards your own quest completion is too slow.
Is this really what they were going for? An anti minion meta?..seems pretty anti-hearthsone to me. I mean right out the gate it makes two thirds of the new set redundant and not worth experimenting with and a lot of the decks just seem to kinda play by themselves, against themselves.
I don't know how they nerf their way out of it this time - usually it's obvious but the core of the quest design across many classes just seems...rubbish frankly, the design is rubbish.
And yes I accept this is early impressions. I may not be right at all, but this what seems to be going down so far.

No, you are absolutely right. There are a LOT of problems, and it's going to take many rounds of nerfs to get anywhere close to a reasonable meta. They will be lucky if they have it fixed by the third expansion, let alone the mini-set.

Don't worry, give this deck a week and you won't see it again :).

This thread is full of misinformation.
Hunter and especially mage is extremely favored into this matchup. The data is there, not just small sample size opinion pieces.
And I don’t think it’s news to anyone how much mage is running around.
Cry more while I finish my quest

pretty stupid quest but its not OP as this topic say
Quest Warlock is decent, but it is much worse than OTK Rogue or Quest Mage.
Fatigue damage should be exempt from this crap, tired of locks just burning their deck and literally afk killing me as fatigue damage adds up
