Last time we got spoiled the mini-set early in the expansion, this time we don't know the theme of the promised mini-set, so what do you think will be the theme?
I am thinking last time the theme was a dungeon, and now that the mercenaries have gone up in power-level, the theme might be a raid instance instead, maybe Onyxia's lair? since Katrana Prestor plays a role in the expansion, and the instance is tied to Stormwind's story the most.
Seeing that the last expantion was crossroads and the mini expantion was wailing caverns, I would not be suprised if the mini set is also dungeon related, and in stormwind case, most likely stockades
Onyxia's Lair has like nothing in it. One boss and a few trash mobs, that's it. So not really much to mine, there. Also is actually on the other continent, closer to the Barrens.
If they're going to do another dungeon, Stockades makes the most sense, since it's in Stormwind and there's some decent room to build on its core theme, maybe a prison break story or something. Imprisoned villains from previous sets. Stuff like that.
I could also see them do something with the Deeprun Tram, the underground railway that connects Stormwind and Ironforge, which is also where the Brawler's Guild is located, an underground fight club full of weird boss fights for players to challenge.
Expansion III is almost certainly Alterac Valley, btw.
You see, I don't think they'll do another dungeon, even if Deadmines or the Stockades were a good option.
The way I see the theme of this epxansion is the mercenaries have leveled up, picked up professions, bought their mounts, and now they're past low level dungeons, so I guess raid makes a lot more sense to me.
And speculation that the last expansion of this cycle will be Alterac Valley, that would include a battleground, so we would have a dungeon with the first expansion, a raid with the second and a bg with the third, encompassing all the group content in WoW.
Obviously yes, Onyxia's Lair is a pretty short and empty instance, so it might be hard to include 35 unique cards, and the theme needs to be a bit more varried. Dustwallow marsh as a whole sounds cool, it might be a bit too close to Barrens, thematically, but at the same time, it does have a lot of it's unique themes, Dragons, Naga, the Theramore marines. Varrian is in the expansion, and in the story of WoW, he was present in Dustwallow Marsh during vanilla wow (where this expansion takes place thematically)

Yeah, actually I guess this makes the most sense. Wailing Caverns is in the Barrens, so the Stormwind mini set dungeon could certainly be the Stockades.
However, we already have a few prison themed cards already in this set, with Varden escaping. And Scabbs thrown in prison as per his investigation.
Actually, someone on another site posted about it and noticed that it looks like Scabbs is right behind Varden in the art for Sorcerer's Gambit. So there is definitely something going on there.
The Barrens set had actually zero cards with the Wailing Caverns theme in it, so yeah based on this logic, I don't think it will be the Stockades. Stockades will probably play a huge role in the Book of Mercenaries instead.
Since we already have cards referencing stockages, where barrens had nothing with wailing caverns, my bet is deadmines. Its also by far the more iconic dungeon in that area. Also the stonemasons(defias brotherhood) built stormwind.

what do you think?
They will most likely keep the casual theme and go with one of the entry level Alliance dungeons.
I also think they will do that, I can't wait to see.
I wholly expect a lower level Alliance dungeon.
Deadmines, featuring Edwin 2.0
:)

Deadmines, Stockades, but I actually think Onyxia's Lair is kind of likely. (Or I guess Dustwallow Marsh) Then they can add some new dragon cards.

Furthermore, Stockades Prisoner, Entrapped Sorceress, Stockades Guard and maybe Stubborn Suspect all kind of already fill the Stockade aspect of Stormwind. Is that too many cards before a full release of the mini set?

Has to be stockades to make sense
