This is a legitimate question. Climbing can be such a hassle. There’s nothing worse than being 1 win away from a rank floor only to go on a long losing streak. Just happened to me for the 3rd time in the last couple days. Even more frustrating is when you lose matchups you should win, and not because you played bad, but because your opponent just draws like a god and you get the shaft. It leaves such a bitter taste because there’s just nothing you can do, nothing you can learn from it. I’ve been pushing to try and regain my lost bonus stars after I went on a rather long hiatus but this keeps happening and every time it does I just put the game away for a few days so while I should be much higher than I am, I just can’t bring myself to sit there and bash my head against the wall of god drawing face hunters and elemental shamans that I should be beating. I just feel like progress is being stolen rather than actually lost.

Everybody knows that, that's part of the game. If you feel you're on a losing streak, quit for the day and come back the next day. There's nothing you can do about bad luck.

Yeah been doing that all month and hasn’t done me any good. It’s like I’m just not allowed to have win streaks sometimes. I had to stop watching streamers because they’ll get like 5-6 opponents in a row that draw or play like ass and I’m like, where are those people at my rank? Everyone draws like a god. It’s been like a week since I saw an opponent with a bad opening meanwhile I’m busting my ass for every win. Doesn’t matter if I play a top tier deck or an off meta deck, feels like every game is stacked against me…I’m sitting here just trying to get to platinum 5 and the game keeps slapping me down a couple ranks every time I get close. Was 1 win away yesterday and got slapped down to 8. Got within 2 wins today then slapped back down to 8. I hate when people talk about how easy it is to climb, or if you’re stuck at a rank it’s because you need to get better. Yeah that’s BS. I’m at the mercy of matchmaking and the draw engine right now. My game play has zero bearing on my rank and it’s frustrating.

The guy before me told you the truth. Your question was how to deal with frustration. You quit from the game when you feel like tilted. Thats it. You cant do anything about bad luck.
Maybe, just maybe there is an other issue. You are not playing your decks optimally. Maybe you are missing the optimal plays. The hardest thing in hearthstone is learning from your mistakes because no one will tell you when you make a mistake. You have to figure it out all by yourself unless you have a friend who is spectating you and telling you what would have been a better play.
Eh when the game is no longer fun put it down. I try for legend every season but I always use tier 1 or tier 2 decks because otherwise the experience is too frustrating. Casual isn't much better, all legend level players using meta decks. There should be a non meta mode
I pick any one of the horrible things that have happened in life, reflect on it for a second, and realize I'm playing a computer game while sitting in a house I own near a refrigerator full of food and drink, and there's a locked door and security system between me and the many many real problems and predators in the world.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.

I know the difference between “damn I should have played that better,” and “I just got facerolled by a perfect drawing hunter and all my tools I need are buried in the bottom of my deck.” The whole point of this thread was because I know the difference. It’s really not hard to figure out when you should have played a certain spell or minion, or depending on the deck, if you should have held something instead of playing it. Those things are all very easy to analyze when you look back on a game, and that’s easy to deal with because I at least might have had a hand in the outcome. But when the outcome is decided when you click play…yeah not so easy. Yeah putting the game down because of bad luck makes sense, been doing it for days at a time all month. The problem is I’m getting really tired of my luck being so bad, and every time I have to just give up it’s so annoying.

I don't take this game very seriously. Happy with reaching rank 5 every month. Most times i have youtube and other stuff running in the background. Barely paying attention to what my opponent does.
So to put it shortly, not taking games seriously helps a lot with anxiety.
Eventually you will realize that luck has nothing to do with it. Then it will cease being frustrating and start to be funny. Especially the part where people will try to tell you it is luck.
Wild player here. I find it helpful to play a more streaky deck as I'm climbing in lower ranks. Then, to minimize frustration at higher ranks, I simply choose the decks that I hate losing against most and build a counter deck that at least has a chance of winning against any deck type and also has a win rate higher than 50%. For example, I don't like losing to Tickatus Warlock, Big Priest, and certain combo decks like Mozaki mage, so I like to play Mill Rogue (also including some anti-aggro cards). The most versatile deck I've played in terms of winning against different deck types is probably Raza Priest, but even then the frustration of losing to a Combo Druid or Tickatus is enough to make me play another deck that is less vulnerable to this. The overall win rate might lower a bit, but because the breadth of decks I can win against increases, to me the tradeoff improves the ladder experience.
I find it impossible to feel "anxiety" at the ladder since its revamp, it takes a few hours each month to get legend now. Sometimes I get there without aiming for it.
Just remember - the ladder used to be a lot worse, and even the old ladder was a picnic compared to other games.
Win or lose, I only ever play a few games at a time due to exactly this. Even if I'm on a win streak, I still get anxiety, so when that starts bubbling up I gotta walk away from the game for a while.

I do a shot of whiskey for every loss. That way i am loose as a gooose and ready to destroy my opponents after about 8-10 losses.

Stop being results oriented, play for the optimal plays. Stop caring about things you can't control (rng), instead analyze your game and be better.
Weed
by understanding the only rank you can get is the one you let yourself get to

Everybody plays different decks. You face players with different skill levels. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.
These are all variables in your games...you know what never changes? The person piloting your deck.
When you stop blamming "bad luck" for your lack of ability to make correct decisions and read the meta you are on, maybe your will achieve your goal.
Eventually you will realize that luck has nothing to do with it. Then it will cease being frustrating and start to be funny. Especially the part where people will try to tell you it is luck.

Rage and sadness all the time bro. The game fight against me throwing decks that always counters mine. It's a shame.
