I'll wait for the conclusion of the lawsuit. There are definitely 2 sides of this story, and things which are perceived as discrimination can be something else when looking at the whole picture.

I am not saying Blizzard is 100% innocent either, but I do not like how people and companies are judged by the public as soon as a lawsuit is filed and some times even as an investigation STARTS.

This investigation was going on for two years though. These charges (from the state of California) are the result of the END of investigation not the start, due to one ex-employee.
And a State won't risk filing a accusation of this magnitude on one of the biggest companies in their juistriction, if they found "questionable" evidence.
This ordeal really outgrew "percieved discrimination". You may read up on it (or not), but the question isn't if the accusations are warranted, but rather on wich accusations Actiblizz can slither away bc of formal errors, deals and the like.

Even the announcement from Blizzard that some people quoted here earlier sounds a lot like an admission of guilt. It reads like:

'Yeah, sh*t happened, but in the past, we don't do that any more at least'

makes me sick i hope the state sues blizzard for everything. horrific to say the least. makes me ashamed I've supported them all these years but hey what can you do..

Just the hearthstone and WoW reddit subs blowing up as usual, they are populated by bitter old players who haven't touched the games in years but just hang out there as ex-addicts (for some some strange reason, move the fuck on, jesus).

Atleast on reddit, these are the people making all the noise. It reminds me very much of the Honk Kong thing a little while back. Some people have to accept that we're just here to relax, forget about the shit of the day and play video games. The day we stop playing and buying Activision products is the day they stop producing game we're interested in. Things like poor game content, microtransactions...in game problems matter to me, might actually make me one day stop playing their games...as for real world related Activison BS, I do not care and I will pay no attention. It is all a load of shit I do not care about or even remotely want to spend time thinking about... sorry.

If I were to start caring about corporate in this way it sure as hell wouldn't be people related, but environmental...and I'd be spending my time complaining (and boycotting) about Nestle, Pepsico, etc...and i don't even do that. So Activision is fine lol.

I'm so disappointed and angry at the same time, but I have a present for you, Blizzard. Listen to this!

She was mentally unstable, because if your workplace makes you want to end it all, you quit, not kill yourself. While it might have been the shittiest place to work at, you can’t hold them responsible for someone killing themself. I’m sure they provided health insurance, maybe she should have gotten professional help instead of killing herself.

I really have no interest in discussing things with people as morally bankrupt as the majority of people on this thread are. Fuck all of you who think card reveals are more important than real people's lives - I wish you all the worst. For the (shockingly!) few decent people on here - it's been fun yelling at you about battle passes. Not gonna be stopping by these forums again.

If you’re at the point where your life is over and you are going to end it all, maybe quitting is a more difficult decision than suicide, but it’s the best decision. I’m not trying to defend blizzard’s actions, but they can’t be held responsible for one employee’s very bad decision to kill herself. That was her choice to make and hers alone.

You have to be kidding. Killing yourself is not a decision you make like quitting a job, it was probably an impulsive one after all the shit she went through. People are not robots, we are full of emotions for God's sake.

It's desgusting that shareholders and ceo's, who are a handful of obsenely rich old white dudes that couldnt care less about gaming or the players, are making billions in the game industry, while the workers who actually create and make the games work in really insalubrious conditions and are victims of abuse and sexual harassment.. thats really fucked up.

they should have a strong union and the government and congress should institute decent labor laws for everybody. But all over the world we're going the opposite direction, the pornographically rich are richer every day and we nobodies are left with shitty jobs with long hours and shitty wages
