Histrionic youtubers and streamers virtue signaling for attention. Internet personalities are truly the worst, twitch and YouTube are filled with woke streamers that had no problem getting their platform from the same company. Blizz should be punished in the lawsuit, but Alliestraza can fuck right off with the “moral high ground” stance.
Yes, the real problem here is Alliestrasza. Yes, I'm sure you're right.
If you read a bit about Blizz’s CEO, you start wondering if you should keep giving any money to his company. Now this is another stone to their grave, and I know it’ll help me quit my HS addiction.
Probably the same for a lot of places.
People are shit, we're not a nice species. We're ignorant, jealous, petty, superstitious, greedy and driven by primal biological desires, just to name a few of our flaws.
I'm generally not one to comment on this sort of thing, but these streamers are perfectly justified in withholding their card releases as far as I'm concerned. They are doing what they can to call attention/bring awareness to workplace discrimination and moreover to stand against it. If some people are upset that they can't see some cards on their virtual TCG a little earlier than they would otherwise and don't think that standing up to one of the largest social issues we currently face in America is worthy of that relatively trivial inconvenience, then frankly I think they should reconsider their priorities. This is bigger than Hearthstone people, and it's certainly bigger than getting a sneak preview of some virtual cards you think might be cool.
This is a game. Most of us come here to get away from the crap of day to day & just play some cards. We don't want you using our escape as a damn platform to affect change. If you want change go find a freakin corner to protest on. I am frankly tired of the games we use to escape being hijacked as a platform. Reveal the cards like you agreed to for the community that you get funded by or quit accepting the task to reveal cards.
Video game giant Activision Blizzard Inc., maker of games including World of Warcraft and Diablo, fosters a “frat boy” culture in which female employees are subjected to constant sexual harassment, unequal pay, and retaliation, according to a lawsuit filed by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
A two-year investigation by the state agency found that the company discriminated against female employees in terms and conditions of employment, including compensation, assignment, promotion, and termination. Company leadership consistently failed to take steps to prevent discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, the agency said.
I agree and support Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy. Your comments?
I don't support this withholding of card reveals! I'm frankly tired of all these people using every platform they can to push a cause. We come here to escape & enjoy a card game.
I don't know all the details but seems to me that if you want to make a stand, cut your ties. Don't wait a day to then do your goofy card reveal and continue to benefit from promotion provided by a company that you're making a stand against.

Here is the thing. Kottick is a sleazy fuck who wants to make money out of gamers, who he largely considers losers. And that's offensive but really, props to him for making it work. He is not actually hurting anyone except the shareholders for getting such a large cut (and that's why there was at least some action on that).
The upper management in Blizzard Entertainment, and by the posts of server former employees as well as the actual report the issue is with Blizzard and predates even the merger, allowed a small number of people to constantly harass female employees with no real repercussions. This happened for YEARS until an investigation started two years ago. Afrasiabi was only let go AFTER the investigation happened. They didn't really make any serious effort until that point. Things probably have improved since then simply because they know they are being investigated and if we get to the point of a female employee committing suicide on a trip where her male supervisor brought butt plugs and lube is NOT the tipping point but only the investigation is, there comes a point when the shareholders need to step in and just straight up demand that everyone who was upper management or part of HR before 2019 be removed.
Blizzard is denying the allegations so who do we believe? On one hand the people we don't know or the other people we don't know. Self righteous thinking without any concrete evidence. If you care stream another game, but I guess the money can make you look the other way right..
It is messed up how some people value more getting a card reveal faster or "not paying more" for their pack than making justice in what is for sure a place where macho culture is prevalent.
You really have to be an ignorant child or just a bad person to throw guilt over Alli for bringing attention to this subject, even if it is just waiting a day for the reveal, for sure I wouldn't have heard of this otherwise.
So please, if you don't support this behavior in workplaces or anywhere really, just stfu and don't attack the people trying to put the spotlight in the issue.

Let's be real. One doesn't sue an Activision-sized company without very solid evidence.

I said Blizz should be punished. Alliestraza making a stand is absolutely stupid. This is the company that has vowed to China for so long, yet she had no problem. This is the company that has been accused numerous times of overworking their employees, no problem. This was the bridge too far for her? That’s just outright ridiculous. Virtue signaling from people that have been complacent this whole time is shameful. If they wanted their morals, they would have left this a long time ago, but what they really wanted is to look like they are the most woke. Again, Blizz bad, should be punished, but haven’t been worth supporting for years.

Did you read their denial? Was that denial a "competent response" in your viewpoint? Is it even a denial? "We've done a lot to improve after you caught us with our pants down"doesn't change the fact they were walking with their pants down for a decade until they got caught.
And really, let's ignore harassment. Equal pay issues are not exactly subjective. Payroll and job description are both hard facts and if the state alleges there is an issue, then they have facts supporting them.
Reveal the Cards, ffs...this dilemma can go on parallely, but don't block Card reveals, H$ is mostly only Team 5 anyways, just a single small Indie section within Blizzard's whole corporation department.

I guess I don't know enough about the situation I just wonder what postponing a day really does

This situation became public knowledge today.
Also I've seen multiple posts by former employees who are saying that the issue is with a small number of people and those in charge who never held them accountable and who proceed to ask people not to take their justified anger for this situation out on the product and the many devs doing their job (and having no real power to affect change).
What I would have done if I was one of those streamers is show the card in like a 5 second video and then proceed to raise awareness about the issue, linking the report, Blizzard's response, the views of former employees and maybe some resources on what to do when you are subject to sexual harassment at work or when you suspect you are paid less because of your gender or race.

Reading a few of the cases, they are probably guilty of bad judgement and some discrimination. They also are probably having things overblown. The woman who killed herself sounded like you can’t blame mental instability on blizzard. The black employees getting passed over for promotions though, textbook discrimination. The cube crawl just sounds like a horrible idea for so many reasons, the worst kind of judgement that will likely result in lawsuits getting paid out.

Guess who's not getting a card to reveal next expansion?

Nobody really cares. They left to pursue other things and don't need to be dragged into something they are no longer a part of.

Let's discuss the important question here... When are they going to start revealing cards again?

Holy ####
This kind of people are the ones angry when a videogame protagonist is a woman.
Life is political, deal with it, and doing whatever it takes to have a better world is worth dealing with your kind.
Caught in 4k
Maybe but Activisions reply seemed pretty confident they would win
