People really gotta stop looking at things in a vacuum and understand the Renew nerf was absolutely justified. Renew isn't just a neutral 1 mana discover card; it's a card belonging to a class with an ability to continuously and consistently generate it multiple times over the course of a game - often times with a mana reduction which in turn, creates even more of a problem due to its ability to chain generation when Sethekk is involved.
Having said that, it wouldn't be nearly as big of a problem if Blizz would just stop allowing spells to have their mana reduced to 0.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but gibberling wasn’t as bad as everyone says. With the exception of paladin and rogue, the other classes all had an aoe that could be played turn 2 or 3 to destroy a gibberling board. Gibberling doesn’t get a turn 2 buff because they overloaded turn 1 and they don’t have any cards in hand anymore. The ideal play is priest or demon hunter with a turn 2 board clear, but even taking 8 to the face turn 2 followed by shaman’s lightning storm isn’t bad. It’s a complete reversal, instead of turn one opponent concede it’s turn two or three druid concede. The problem wasn’t gibberling, it was the insistence on running card for card netdecks from HSreplay and VS that don’t run “poorly performing” cards like lightning storm in elemental shaman. The “turn 1 druid non-games” were easily won by each class except paladin and rogue with the inclusion of a cheap aoe spell.
Nerfed decks were like Tier-2 across all ranks. People and Blizz say that decks got nerfed not even becaust they were too powerful, but cause it felt boring / annoying / uninteractive to play agains them.
Well how about nerfing Face Hunter and DH, which are the best decks right now (winrate) + they are also got damn uninteractive! Usually both decks ignore your board: getting smashed by Doomhammer and burn spells.. same with Hunter, that even targets it's own minions, to deal damag to your face. I am getting even more annoyed to lose to that crap than to, let's say, a Gibbering druid with an insane start (which even has to happen 1 in like 10 games) But shaman and Hunter have good starts always, cause it's all their decks do. Same with priest, i get annoyed to play agains it, but you could always find a way to win agains it + you could notice good player's moves with it after some games. Druid also was a little bit of a combo deck. you had to plan your moves, use mana wisely, etc. Can't say anything positive after games, played vs hyper aggro stuff. You can't spot THOUGHT in their plays, cause all their cards are good each turn... My post was salty, but hope you got the point about nerfing uninteractive and frustrating decks

I agree with your post except it was justified. This was the whole point of renew when they created it. A possible 0 mana discover spell that keeps coming back and discovering more. Having to choose between healing your hero or a 0 cost proc for sethekk. This was the entire design of renew. When Blizz says that it is a problematic card, they have designed all of standard priest and multiple interactions with a card designed to do exactly what is problematic. Either way, I hope shadow priest is as good as they are hyping it up to be, because they really dropped the ball on this one.
Have you ever seen Priest being buffed/made stronger? - nope. Alle the nerfs so far is to weaken.
Not that priest is oppressive, its the holy Volk that complain. Their burn-buff-charger strategy is being hampered. And an unhappy target audience.....is not what you want, is it?
HS is a profound fascistoid game. Not the game itself, but as a card designer one must have a fascistoid inclination. For starters the game is cherished bij a holy target audience. In right wing populist environments the people are even so considered sacred. They must be protected at all cost. Worth fighting for. All perceived enemies of The Volk must be fended of, eliminated.
Priests are the enemy of The Volk. Capisce. So I offer left wing card design (fairness, balance, skill).
The thing is, not much will change. Now there will be more Wave Of Apathy spells created by Wand Maker, which will lead to more stolen minions from Cabal Acolyte, Against All Odds wiping every board, and even bigger Samuros, because Power Word: Fortitude will be the new auto-include.

Totally agree. IMO should be nerfed to "Summon 1/1 Bibberling" with no additional effects. Would be fair enough and cut the snowball effect.

I guess right wing card design will prevail.
