Oh I can't wait for that someone who bumps into a control warlock that uses Mutanus to eat his Mutanus and then uses tickatus the turn afterwards. Oh, the whining will be glorious.
I find it funny how people think this counters Cthun. What? You almost always play cthun when you draw it, unless you're facing a priest.
Good card, will be a staple in control/attrition decks, not so much in tempo decks, and we can probably kiss goodbye to OTK demon hunter, since the decks it counters will probably run this card.

Im gunna make a nzoth rogue deck with this in there. Just eat their whole hand lmao
Not sure it would worth building a deck around this card as we have not seen all the cards. Besides you would have to wait for turn 7 to eat a potential OTK/KEY card in opponents hand IF he has it and then shadow step Mutanus. It will certainly be an annoying card, still good in a deck if you encounter a lot of OTK deck and if you know when opponent gets his Tickatus, C'thun or Il'gynoth. Moreover, Mutanus "eats' a card randomly.....and against mid range and aggro you would probably struggle.
Wow, so many people dismissing this card. It's a superior dirty rat in almost every way. This can't whiff the same way dirty rat can and you don't need to have removal in your hand either. You also force your opponent to remove that or you go face and win. This will probably be in every control deck in both formats, especially wild odd warrior!
Why do people keep calling this a Tickatus [/card] counter LOL??? Dude, it says "eat a minion". It's random. This card is bad, and the design is bad. Compare this to a card that's never played [card]Natalie Seline. She kills the minion on board instead of in their hand, and the murloc usually wont gain more than 4 4 worth of stats. This card is like a 7 mana 8 8 on a good day, and lower stats on a bad one. Yes, it can help you vs combo decks if youre lucky, but most combo decks these days kill you by turn 7 anyway.
On a side note, I hate the intention too. Stop printing anti-combo tech cards and just NERF THE COMBO DECKS. Cards like this and Dirty Rat are bad for the game. They're frustrating to play against and when they do their intended purpose vs you, you feel like you wasted 10 minutes of your life. Cards like this make sense in magic the gathering and legends of runeterra, but it doesnt work in hearthstone because you can only have 2 copies of a card or 1 of a legendary. It's too punishing when it works and toxic to play against. 0/10.

"Waaaah its a bad card but its too broken at the same time"
Make up your mind dude.
It hurts any control deck in the game. He can eat, off the popular decks:
Inquisitor
Y'shaarj
N'zoth
Alex
Ysera
Ticky
Clown
Liadrin
Trampling Rhino
Troublemaker
Any of these is a HUGE tempo swing. And he's basically guaranteed to be at least an 8/8 unless the enemy just drew a babby minion and spent exactly 6/7 last turn.
It's not bad, and it is pretty consistent if you are paying attention
I don't think this will be good in standard unless the meta slows way down. But I think we are multiple expansions away from that to potentially happening. If it had Taunt it would potentially be playable, but I don't see it beating any fast deck enough to justify having it in the deck as 7 mana
I do think the salt and nerf threads will be many because it's disruptive in a way Tickatus also is. And the potential for playing it for one in wild can maybe make the card just good enough

I'm not really certain about wild tbh. The only reason dirty rat is good is because it costs 2 mana...if you have to wait until turn 7 you're dead against mozaki mage, apm mage, maly/tog druid almost all the time, it's not like those decks twiggle their thumbs about while waiting for you to eat their combo pieces (assuming you hit the one that matters anyway, which is to say that if you don't hit specifically mozaki/maly you're still boned). Sure, rat needs something else other than itself to deal with what you pull out but considering that most decks that use rat are reno decks, you usually have something else.
Not to say this won't see play and I can see odd warrior teching it, but I still think most decks will prefer rat since it's so much cheaper and is much more flexible. Just my 2 cents here, I could be completely wrong, definitely curious to see how it'll work out.
And needless to say, but this will be absolutely hilarious in any shudder deck, if you reach 9 mana not only is your infinite shudder happening, but you're eating a minion for every shudder you play...that'll make for a lot of highlight reels.
Honestly, for the decks I play? It's very, very scary. Realistically, though, will see next to no play (bear in mind that you often don't get to T9 in STD at the moment). Bad type of RNG (oh, you whiffed? game over. You hit? You win) in control matchups, and against combo decks with multiple minions. Primarily powerful in control/combo MUs for post-Taelan.
If a meta that's control/combo heavy arises in STD? This will be played. Otherwise, it's a tech card that doesn't fit the meta.

Far too slow for WIld.
I absolutely agree with this (at the moment).
However, you have to think about the implications of this card.
1) Your opponent will (usually) know that this card is in your deck (meta netdecks are usually known to halfway decent players in HS), unless you created it randomly. This will certainly have an influence on their decisions and thus, your potential plays. If they only have a big finisher and a control tool like Xyrella in hand, for instance, you could just bait out the Xyrella by slightly over-committing and then eat the win condition, for instance.
2) If the meta ever changes to a slower HS, and especially if spell mage ever rotates out of the meta, this thing becomes interesting because it is often a 2 for 1. In the worst case scenario, you eat, let's say a 1/1 or 1/2 from your opponent's hand, so this is a 5/5-5/6 that destroys a card in their hand (which might have a strong Battlecry/Deathrattle btw). The 5/5-5/6 body isn't particularly great, but it still requires some kind of answer. In a best case scenario, this thing eats whatever your Taelan drew (let's say an 8/8 Alex) and becomes a very relevant 12/12 threat that requires at least a hard removal to be dealt with. So this is by no means a bad card in a vacuum, but as others have said, this is pretty slow for standard right now.
The wild memes with Brann, Shudderwock or shaman quest will be glorious, but then again, paying 7 mana for this seems way too weak if you compare this to other "high"-cost cards in wild. Secret Mage just laughs about this anyway and burns your butt.
It's definitly not reliable against tick. Any Deck that could run mutanus would be slow, that means warlock can simply keep one or two of his 1 mana dudes in Hand.
On top of that, warlock has anyways multible minions on hand in slow matches.
Actually this card could be useful for Ticklocks, not that he needs more removals but its another way to corrupt tick and to piss off your opponents.
Oh I can't wait for that someone who bumps into a control warlock that uses Mutanus to eat his Mutanus and then uses tickatus the turn afterwards. Oh, the whining will be glorious.
Priest will be able to use this very consistently.

Druids will be the only ones running this, if at all, to make up for the lack of any hard removal.

You are absolutely correct but how sweet would if be to eat a tick or Il'gynoth or alex mwahah
It's a pretty powerful disruption tool. Denying your opponent hand resources is pretty powerful at more or less any stage of the game.
...but it's literally another anti-control tech in a meta that doesn't really need them.
I think it'll see more play than people think, just because of how strong and unique it is. But it's probably not gonna be a staple or anything.

Great addition to Dirty Rat and Vol'jin in my Reno war deck. Me like.
Uh Nzoth summons to field. It doesnt activate battlecry

What does "eat" even mean? Temporarily remove minion from hand until Mutanus dies?

It is similar to Gral, the Shark but it does not have any deathrattle, so I am sure it does not return the minion back to opponent's hand.
