Ogremancer is quite inefficient vs Spell Mage as they don't care about the taunts since their burst comes from burn spells and not minions. Which means they can afford to ignore it for 1-2 turns (as long as they are not close to dying) and clear everything with a Flamestrike a bit later
There is no single card that can effectively counter a deck built with 30 cards in synergy. Nevertheless tech cards are introduced for all to explore.
Orgemancer as a neutral card is indeed popular choice not just in control but also seen in agro paladin now to counter control decks which relies on spells. On top of that the ratio of board control cards is significantly skewed siding minion protection, minion buffs and card draw or refill mechanics. Hence agro, minion based and direct face damage decks became more prominent and effective in current meta with consistent and continuous onslaught of playable buffed up and protected boards.
Priest among all other class got the love from Bliz with multiple board control and healing cards introduced in Barrens which makes them the only class strengthened for control. Control Shaman, Warlock and Warrior unfortunately did not receive the same share of love. Shaman is suffering from identity crisis with its overload mechanic way outdated and outperformed by new power creep cards. Warlock shares similar predicament as his card draw which pays with blood is now outperformed by other classes from new minions or even cards that draws and restores mana. Even demons that they can deploy is scared off by 1 drops with absurd amount of stats buffed.
In summary, the best choice in the current meta to counter all these archetypes is probably Priest with its new love from Barrens set. Other control decks is viable based on old cards but will fall short of the love from Barrens set.
