Before core set was introduced to the game i was able to type 'golden' in the search box and hit the crafting button to get easy access to all the golden cards i have so i could dust them for full value since i always try to minmax my collection and frankly i dont care about golden aesthetics, so as you probably know now searching for 'golden' also pulls up all the golden core cards that you get by default at a certain level so i end up having to filter through each set to see if i have any golden cards i wanna dust from that specific set or not.
What i dont understand is why dont they filter out all the core set cards once you hit the crafting button since they are uncraftable anyway, thats how it used to be with the basic set, it would filter out once you hit the crafting button, but now to see the golden cards you're gonna have to go to crafting and click on the show golden cards filter and you'll have to search through the clutter of craftable golden cards and the ones you already have in your collection.
And that is only one of the many examples of how terrible the collection manager is and how much it could benefit from various changes here and there, its not REALLY a big deal i mean you could get by with the current system but compared to other card games ive played HS could learn a thing or two on how to manage a collection.
Also I find annoying that you have to search for the non golden version of the cards they give you golden for free in the track map, like the peon etc.
I definitely agree that Core cards should not appear in Crafting.
Have you tried using the "Extra" keyword in your searches? If you have two normal copies plus one or more golden copies, they will all be displayed, and you can easily dust the golden ones.
This isn't much help if you want to dust ALL golden cards (even if you don't have two normal ones), but I don't think that's a good idea anyway.

I must admit that the new Core cards make me a little nervous. I see multiple copies of card X and then have to check, then double check, then triple check whether I can disenchant them or not. I can't shake the feeling that when the Core rotates, I'm going to find a bunch of holes in my collection where I've incorrectly dusted stuff.
I concede this is a First World Problem, but that's where I live...
Great points! The collection manager was fine when the game first released, but just grew out of place as time went one. With almost 5000 cards I just search trough specific expansions most of the time. So many useless cards clutter up the pages as well.
