Vanilla 2-mana Unleash the Hounds. Hunters were around 40% I think. Playing anything else was a machocistic experience, even with decks like control warrior and miracle rogue available.
Nax pre-nerf Undertaker meta. I can't believe it took them so long to nerf that card, but when even warriors started to run them, it finally happened. Huntertaker was the most famous, but zoo was very strong too.
MSG Pre-nerf Small-Time Buccaneer pirate meta. Wow, those Warriors and Shamans were strong and fast! At least games were over quickly...
AOO Demonhunter release. That class was completely over the top at release, but at lest it was nerfed quickly.
Boomsday Project Star Aligner druid Wild meta. Probably the most imba deck to ever be in the game, a consistant combo deck which also barely lost to even the fastest aggro.
I think the older bad metas were generally much worse than the more recent ones as we tend to both glorify the past and forget quickly.
Prepared to get some hate, but I really hated the two years of Zilliax. Literally every deck played it. Okay, its not a meta, but still. You just had to consider that card all the time, which was able to turn the chances of winning by itself.
Every meta is the worst meta to somebody. Everyone has different tastes, and like 80 billion million people play HS I guess, so statistically every meta is probably widely hated.
My least favorite meta is whichever ones that have like, 40 minute games because control is too good. I liked K&C but as fun as Cube Hunter was, playing every game against Highlander Priest or Cubelock was just... Not so fun. RoS also had Bomb Warrior - and imo Bombs are one of the least fun things the game ever did. 1/6th of your Health as unavoidable damage, stapled to cards that were already solid from a tempo standpoint. I could go on - every meta has things I liked and didn't like. Even Un'Goro, my perfect child, had Quest Mage and Quest Rogue.
My favorite Meta is whenever Hunter is like, high tier 2. Not so uber powerful that everybody is actually justified in complaining about it, but still good enough that a good Hunter player can win consistently. The deck doesn't really matter to me - unless it's Mech Hunter for flavor reasons - I just like Hunter, and I like when Hunter is good, but no so good everybody hates it.
Dunno if it's THE worst meta ever but its def pretty bad in wild at the moment. It's sad. Kinda wish hearthstone had a class filter for ranked. Then the shit (as in toxic) decks can be bottlenecked into forced matches against each other and then they can finally start to realize how shitty and toxic their crap is and then blizzard can finally do something about it. Pipedream, I know.
If I wanted to play solitaire, there are FAR superior versions of the game out there. For cheaper prices and quicker game times too.
The current meta made me quit Standard for Classic mode. It's really bad for me because random effects, random generation and discover effects are encouraged rather than risky. Currently, being a new meta, the pool of cards to draw from is also limited, but even so, current Hearthstone clearly suffers from power creep and no sense of balance or rewarding strategic play. I have been playing since Mean Streets of Gadgetzan.
I think this is just the new normal, didn't Blizzard say they don't like super long matches. That pretty much kills control, the slowest decks will be control-combo hybrids or so I interpret their "we want all decks to have a win condition" comment. And the majority of decks will be aggro/midrange. Indeed they always have since such decks are cheap to make and most players are F2P or close to it. I don't things will change soon or ever.
That is why pretty much any meta has something annoying, usually some fast deck which hits less skilled players especially bad. I know that was especially true for me since while fairly good even in the beginning I liked slow, meme decks and you can guess how well those did against zoo and face hunter. Especially undertaker hunter /shudders. Weirdly enough I was not as bothered by mech mage and tempo mage, maybe because by that point I was usually having fun on higher ranks with meme decks, only going to lower ranks at the end of the season for rewards? I guess early highlander decks were also annoying given how disgustingly op they were with Reno, Kazakus, Raza in a meta that was much lower power than modern one.
Been playing since closed beta, and I really struggle to remember the last time I had less fun with a meta. Undertaker Hunter was a bigger problem than anything out there now, but I really had a lot of fun back then. The only real contender for less fun meta for me is the Jade Druid era - Jade being the worst mechanic to ever grace this game, in my opinion. I don't know how much of this'll be recency bias and thinking the thing going on right now is the worst one, but I'm mostly pretty OK with any given metagame. Good thing there's so many different ways to play Hearthstone right now. If Standard was the only option I'd go into the next expansion with very little gold saved up.
I’ve been playing since before Naxx release in 2014 and I’ve lived trough a lot of aggro metas (Facehunter with Mad Scientist in Naxx, Secret Pally in TGT etc.) and I can say for myself, this is not my most hated meta.
For me, the meta I personallly disliked the most wad the gadgetzan meta, largely because of the tri class mechanic largely homogenising several classes together. The lack of variety was just really boring
I hope that mini set will shake things up a little, because now it's soo boring in standard. I'd love to see Shaman and Warlock reworked (they both need serious help, couple new cards won't be enough to fix their ongoig issues) and completely new, fun archetypes that aren't memes with win rate below 40%. Judging by the last patch though, I don't believe it will happen.
Pirate warrior meta was horrendous, it was like any face hunter meta except x10 worse.
Jade Druid meta was as stupid a meta as we've ever had.
Yeah the mid-range and aggro shaman metas were bad too (shamanstone) - but I think the other two I menmtioned beat it out. There was also the huntertaker meta, but that is going back a long way (naxx is out!)
Whilst maybe not most hated Meta hit has the most hated cards ever for me personally. Ticatus, Lunacy and Oh My Yogg, the main offenders. I honestly fkn hate Ticatus.

It's no longer worth collecting anything.
With 20 euros you have the entire collection.
The big players on Twich are gone

Baku and Genn meta was the worst meta ever
Not even remotely close. It isn't great, but not even in the top 5 worst metas.

Quest rogue and Jade Idol meta.
13 games today (low legend) and 10 libram paladin, 2 aggro paladin and 1 hunter.
Congrats blizzard, you are killing this game
