The Hysteria nerf was not needed. Only way priest can fight for early board.
Priest probably got the biggest nerf ironically, as they now have to choose between the strongest union build with kazakus or running one of their most reliable removal spells in hysteria. I knew blizzard would fumble the nerfs/buffs but I never thought they would skip conviction and flow but kill hysteria. I didn’t think they would nerf tickatus, despite wanting them to, because they just sold a bunch of rubes a tickatus deck for $20.
A bit surprised that Paladin didn't take more of a hit, but utterly shocked that the bitching about Tickatus was somehow resisted.
Good job there, Devs. Absolutely no sarcasm meant; after the Flametongue nerf, I give credit every time public outcry doesn't result in a terrible balance decision.
Not sure what the shaman buffs were intended to accomplish. I suppose they could be built upon in the next expansion, but currently, I still don't see a shaman deck that works well enough to compete at the top. At least once per meta, I always try to get control shaman to work, and this time it's just not happening.
Wouldn’t be a Shadowrisen post without mentioning Tickatus in some way. For all the complaining you do about the topic, you sure seem to like bringing it up quite a bit.
I don't complain about Tickatus. I complain about complaining about Tickatus.
This is the only thread I've said anything about Tickatus in context of the nerfs/buffs coming out. Seemed like the right place to do so.
I was genuinely surprised they didn't cave and nerf something that didn't need a nerf as they have in the past.
Cool?

Uh, Condemn? Smite? Devouring Plague? Priest has lots of early game control tools.
Condemn is terrible. Condemn is the opposite of hysteria in that hysteria was mass removal masquerading as single target removal and condemn is easy to mistake as mass removal, but it isn’t. Sure it’s cheap, but you have to wait until turn 5 for it to be as effective as holy nova, which also isn’t very good. Smite is a poor man’s penance, and devouring plague is way too expensive and untargeted. Hysteria was priest’s best removal, and not only do they have to share it with warlock, but it gets nerfed twice. This nerf was geared to nerf warlock and priest, but it hurts priest much more than warlock as there aren’t many warlock builds running kazakus. It’s so necessary for priest’s removal package that I think kazakus will get cut before hysteria.
not only that, but it ruins some of my clown decks. a 10 drop is really important for clown decks, and distupting that affects it so bad.
I dont even think people would play N'Zoth on 9 anyway; it is a very late game card, requiring many other specific minions to have died. So you would prolly be at 10 mana anyway, and you cant even do much with that 1 mana leftover.
Ehm... not exactly. You can use N'zoth for maximum value, for sure. But dropping it on turn 9 and summoning 2-3 additional minions is a good tempo play
Did nothing. Paladin is still way too OP and now gets THREE fucking minions for 1 mana instead of two for zero mana. Really? NO other hits to their unlimited buffing and bull shit? OMG. What. A. Joke.
It was clearly a nerf m8, the difference between having a minion in turn 1 or not is pretty big, mainly because of avoiding the buff in turn 2, although that wasnt one of the 3-4 cards of paly that deserved a nerf, it will still be vert strong and aggro
priest isnt dead at all, in high legend, priest is very much doing well. if you know what you're doing priest is incredible. just takes a bit more skill to play it, that's all
ofc hysteria didnt need the nerf, but its probably the strongest removal card for the cost. it's absurdly strong for 3, also we don't know what cards will be in the next expansions. unfortunately it comes with a lot of problems too now being at 4
Nothing changed. 10 games, 7 Paladins. This game is utterly boring and predictable right now. I'm done till the next expansion hits.
The next expansion will be the same, with other decks. Team 5 are incapable of making a diverse meta where aggro, control and combo all are viable. Why? Because they keep giving aggro card draw

Its not dead, but it took a huge hit. Didn't need it. Why buff the Corruption package which will be getting NO new cards all season. I get legend with Priest every month its not an issue but it seems like it could of maybe got a buff with a trade off for the hysteria nerf.
Yep, just as I expected its still the same trash secret paladin meta as before the patch. Welp, time to find something else to spend my time on till the mini expansion
First day: this is a huge nerf, only reason to play it was 0 mana plus 1 and getting a 1 drop consistently on 1 without having to run more than one or two of them. It was a tempo and value play, now it’s just slow value.
spring water: huge difference, because it comes down 1 turn later, isn’t free anymore and only ramps after being hit by two discounts. Btw, despite apm mage being the most played deck in wild, it’s only Tier 3 (before the nerfs)(read vs Report, arguments without statistics are no arguments but opinions)
hysteria: don’t know if necessary but a huge nerf (but a great buff for even warlock!). One turn is often the difference between winning and losing, as is 1 spare mana to eg smite something that survived (btw holy smite is better then or at least as strong as penance, someone argued it being worse)
crabrider: best nerf, it still keeps its ability as an early game clear that leaves a body but loses the blow out potential. Together with first day a big hit for handbuff pala in wild
mankrik: depends on the deck its played. Still good.
buffs: they where minor. Maybe findish rites in some kind of demon Zoo or with juggler /councilman in wild but still bad. Deck of Chaos still way too slow (hopefully, if not it would be a horrible meta) the shaman cards got better, but it won’t be enough I believe (for standard, in wild murloc shaman is tier 1, even shaman and big shaman are quite good, and Reno shudderwock is somewhat playable).
what they didn’t nerf:
tickatus: doesn’t deserve a nerf. The numbers show it’s just bad so no point even Talking about it. If it’s changed it should be buffed.
conviction: should have been hit (at least from a wild point of view) but I get that they didn Want to hit pala to hard in standard.
oh my yogg: needs no nerf. Learn to play and accept that sometimes you lose games.
incanters flow: should have been lunacyed to 4 (at least 3) mana. / not less than one. I predict that this will happen later

Priest is a dead class anyway because Tickatus dodged a nerf yet again! Warlock will just cut hysteria for hellfire or firebreather.
Don't know why people are surprised. Team 5 has been shite since Brode left.

So now mage isnt a 9.5/10 deck, its a 9/10.
Paladin loses the autowin murloc in early but keeps conviction(leeeeeerooooooooyyyyy) and the new alex(jeeeeeennkinsss)
Warlock gets even more meh.
Rogue its gonna be more powerfull.
Hunter its still gonna be disgusting.
Shamman......well, better than nothing
Imagine thinking it was a buff not nerf XD

Yes indeed, the fourth most played class in legend is dead anyway because a tier 4 deck wasn't nerfed yet again.
Glorious hearthpwn takes for the ages.
