Not knowing the cards is fine, the mechanic just needs to be costed ‘fairly’. But then they would need to cost everything else we see in meta decks fairly.
In short, if there’s an ‘overpowered’ mechanic in the game it’s usually for a reason. I hate card generation in HS for multiple reasons but classes who abuse it have to be able to do so or they wouldn’t be able to keep up with other classes who can outdraw them. Obviously they could just give those classes draw too but that’s a different story.
Hearthstone has become a very polarising game over the past few years, and not by accident. The new design team have pushed the game towards more RNG, more generation, more card draw, huge swing turns and oppressive cards. Games are faster, less predictable and a lot more crazy. You’re either going to love it ir hate it.
I just want to know what card I turned into a banana ffs
yea and things like when my opponent plays Evocation, you can see all the spells they discard at the end of the turn just for a brief moment. I wish I could see what they discarded in the history bar.
This problem is hugely problem in HS, even with cards like Guess the Weight. Yes, the game checks the requirement for you. So you "must believe" it checked the condition. This shit works only in game with AI control. If it would be physical card game, you would have to show it to opposing player to confirm. So he would know what you draw or not. Same with discover and many effects like this.
I agree with this idea.

No, you would only have to show the mana cost of the card to the opposing player, you could very well hide the name, stats and text.

Lol, can you imagine showing card to your opponent while hiding with other hand its Name, text etc? Imagine it like that. Pretty stupid honestly. Just show the card. It would be better.

I don't see how that's stupid and how it would be better. It's pretty common behavior in physical card games.

I do have to admit I play only MTG and played Pokemon like 10 years ago, don't remember it in pokemon, but in MTG you always show the card (or most of the time). Which physical card games show only part of the card? I still think it is promoting "solitaire" playing because you keep everything for yourself.

This is a wonderfully elegant idea, (therefore) I don't think it will ever happen.
Take a walk on the wild side...
Really good suggestion. I hope the HS team thinks about this idea.
