I think the entitlement/naivete in this post in interesting. You are playing an online game (with a high population of toxic/troll players) in a format and setting that does not lend itself to politeness. Even if the other player does catch on to what you are doing, most don't care and I would even argue laugh at the fact that they are preventing you from completing it. I am not saying this to be rude or mean to you I am simply advising to temper your expectations of others when interacting in a competitive digitial (with no accountability) setting. Hope you get it completed :)
What is really interessting is the OP and overall opinion of the opponents being bad or somehow even "evil".
If you look at it neutral, you have one person trying to have fun playing a competetive game and another one that is purposely not playing properly and thus somewhat wasting hier opponents time. Sounds like a troll, if you do not know about the different goals.
Personally i prefer a proper game that i win closely more than somebody wasting my time with the argument of a "free win"
it's because u're the only seeing urself after 50x times frustrated . your opponents are seeing you once so it's impossible to them imagine what u're doing. Most of them just think u're some noob or some noob doing quest playing all that weird.
I don't play wild so I do achievements here, I usally face low skilled people there specially at mid-season (because I'm always in bronze or silver in this mode) so it's easier and less frustating than doing it on high ranks in standard.
Btw. I saw a post (can't find it now) that recommend decks to get the achievements fast and they are not made around just to complete them, they are not meta decks but you can play them (not a meme deck). So If you already reached legend, for example, you can play that decks for fun while you complete the achievements. In my opinion a deck made around only for completing achievements is boring.
The spirit of achievements and trophies is supposed to be a reward for accomplishing something difficult; don't be mad at total strangers for their inability to read your mind just so you can check off a couple boxes to satisfy a mental tick.
This has always been the case, and some times, I have both been on the receiving and giving end of quest collaboration.
There are 3 very good explanations why this happens:
-Your opponent does not understand you are completing quests/achievements and plays it out normally. I don't even know what is needed to complete what.
-Your opponent understands, but isn't interested in that kind of game ant thinks they are wasting time.
-Your opponent has "winning quickly" in the backbone, from back in the day when 3 Wins gave 10 gold. Now, winning slowly might actually be better for grinding, but the community hasn't figured it out yet afaik.
No one likes when rich people talk about their wealth. No one likes with attractive people talk about their attractiveness. No one likes when smart people talk about how smart they are.
Same thing happens to me all the time. Considering my IQ is in the top 1% and my education level is much higher than most as well, I chop it up to the fact that most people just don't function at the same level.
I tried to bring this up earlier but people just argue back. Penicillin wasnt created b/c someone was trying to make it. But they used reason, logic, and human ingenuity to discover an answer for a question that wasn't asked.
It's 100% reasonable to expect that there is an ability to understand that a standard game of hearthstone isnt happening. However people will just say, "they don't know about your achievement" or "they dont care" but the first point doesn't matter. We are the most intelligent species on earth. FIGURE IT OUT. And the idea that people dont care you are giving them a free win is silly. Some don't sure. But most are just not thinking on the same level.

ofc it is. thats why you play a childrens card game.

Not trying to start an argument, but I always thought that bragging about your IQ like that is the least manly thing on earth. As a man, I would prefer bragging about you know... other things. :P

Not sure what your point is, there are plenty of very high IQ people who get into video games early in life and continue the hobby. Not that IQ is the end all be all of anything, but I know there are many folks way off the chart that play all sorts of games.
Don't get me wrong, Pacaholic's post is ridiculous. The idea that someone is evidencing lower intellect because they don't play along with someone trying to get an achievement is facially absurd, but whatever he has to tell himself to feel better than thou.
@Ninja
I hope my mentality does exactly that. I have no desire for achievements to be easier as a general rule. The longer it takes folks to do them, the more potentially free wins are out there to be had. I'm trying to get to #1 legend in standard; I'll take any boost I can get on the way to legend so I can get down to the real grind.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.

What you are describing sound more like autism, or some other social disability, rather than intelligence. I don’t mean that in a disparaging way.
And I’m pretty sure the treatment of infections would have been a question society had asked many times before the discovery of penicillin.
You can be the most intellegent person in the world and still know absolutely nothing about hearthstone achievements.
Intellegence and knowledge of a specific subject is not the same thing.
That's so true. I really hate when people confuse one thing with the other, and they do it most of the time. I mean, it is so obvious... Sometimes gives me headaches. :P
So I’m attempting to fulfill the summon 100 imps, Warlock quest, using Neeru Fireblade. Opponents mage is down to 9hp, when the portal opens and floods the board with imps. He doesn’t concede and plays a minion. I twisting nether to wipe out my board. Floods again with imps. Still doesn’t concede. I proceed to wipe out my board and replenish 2 more times. He kills, a few, I kill a few. When it was said and done I had summoned 39 imps, thanked him, and let him win. I don’t know if he was knowingly facilitating my quest or if he thought I was an idiot. Doesn’t matter, it was fun.

The irony of someone bragging about an IQ in the top 1% of people yet not knowing that the phrase is "chalk it up" instead of "chop it up" is really delicious.
Let's discuss some other glaring issue about this achievement: the sheer grind of it all. The devs think a card or archetype will be good or popular: bam "play x card 200 times". However, around 1 in 3 of these achievements are really grindy to achieve and not worth bothering with. They should have designed achievements to be more interesting, like "kill your enemy with mankrik, consumed by hatred". The design they went for with most of these is lazy and boring. And I don't care about wasting my time to help random randy play his 200 hogs, it's not my fault that the achievements are so atrociously designed, that it's not even worth completing them.
This might be a bit of a rant thread, but whatever. I've been trying to complete most of the Barrens achievements recently since I'm almost lvl 100 and I really wanna get there. I've 'speedran' the easy ones and tried some of the hard ones, like 5th generation raptor or starting turns with caravans. And there's where I'm starting to get triggered.
I queue into a game. I play trash like Hog Rancher, Burning Blade Acolyte, Sigils, Caravans, etc. I trigger my own Raptors with spells. I never hit face even if I can. Just doing everything to show that I'm just here doing an achievement and you can take a free win.
But it seems like this never works. People just rush face and kill me as soon as they can. I know some people don't have too much time and need to move on to the next game, and I understand that. But after this happening like 50 times in a row, I'm starting to feel something's wrong. Do people really not see what I'm doing? I remember that one time when I queued into a different achievement hunter, instantly realizing what they were doing when they played Caravan into Hog Rancher, and even tried to help them. After the game, they said thanks and conceded. It was just so obvious from the start that they were doing achievements.
Has anyone here experienced this?
Its easy... they dont want to waste time for this.

The truth is people don't care, or try to mess it up by chance. I had the same issue last expansion.
Now, i dont care at all about those achievements. I hit them by accident and that's fine with me. You don't gain that much of XP anyways.

Okay but how do you not know about the existence of achievements?
Also if you want to win faster why not just do that and go face? Why make this game take longer than it needs to by killing my minions?
