I agree, mage needs more nerfs especially for the no minion mage archetype. Font of Power, Incanter's Flow and Apexis Blast were more than enough support for the archetype. Refreshing Spring Water and Runed Orb just push it over the top.
Also since they have enough good spells to fill a whole deck the downside of playing it is almost non-existent.
I think blizzard just forgets cards stay for 2 years when they release them. Its like, yay, lets release the best cards the first pack of a rotation so people have to deal with them for as long as possible.
Refreshing spring water is literally on par with being a legendary. Its basically arcane intellect + preparation in one card
I know “dies to aggro” is a meme but I really think Blizzard just don’t care about the player experience too much outside of the meta. If Mage annoys you then they want you to play Hunter.
They want us all to be playing a handful of broken decks, and to achieve this they need to break those decks. Without Refreshing Springwater and Ruined Orb the deck would probably be ‘fair’ and it would never be played.
Mage isn't nearly as annoying as some other classes like priest who has been annoying for 7 years now.
Priest is the same random generator, except it can heal.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I find mage fun to play against, even in Wild.
Oh look, more QQ about a tier 4 deck
I think Mage is fine, although I do think Refreshing Spring Water is too strong. But Priest is not annoying at all. It's not a good class most of the time, it's been bottom 3 for like 3 sets, and all the people whining about it are probably aggro scrubs who only know how to go face

I said nothing of priest power level and I'm not complaining about that. I honestly hardly care for tier positioning, wether a deck is tier 4 or tier 1 is irrelevant to me, it's either fun or not fun, it's all that matters. All I'm saying is it's an annoying class to play against, regardless of what deck you are using.
Play priest and enjoy it man I don't care, more power to you, I've been a main priest for years, it's just my opinion that RNG mage is more fun to play against than RNG priest. More fun cards and less bullshit overall.
I just played against a mage who played 2 Time Warp (the genius was actually main decking Hex Lord Malacrass and copied the quest), 2 Ice Blocks and a complete C'Thun, the Shattered. And that was fun, you know why ? Because I could manage his health total, no matter how much random crap he was generating, he could only heal with that weak secret that gives 8 armor. If it was a priest he would have been able to heal every turn and destroy all the fun and the strategy there was in this match.

Ah, you play Wild lmao. No wonder, that's literally the point of Wild my dude.
I'm talking about Standard, you know, the mode that 85% of the community plays. Not the anything goes mode that barely anyone plays

I play both modes and my statement/opinion stands for both.
Eh, decks fall in relative power level over time. Libram Paladin in Darkmoon Faire was basically the exact same list as during Scholomance, but it completely dominated Scholomance and wasn't a problem in Darkmoon. As more cards get added the power level of your average deck'll increase, and unless Spell Mage gets more support it'll be phased out in favor of new decks with new tools.
There are exceptions to this rule, but it comes in the form of decks that can execute very specific gameplans - I think Warlock's going to be around in every meta that isn't hyper-aggro because Jaraxxus and to a lesser extent Tickatus give it a super-defined gameplan to win against Control. A "toolkit" deck like Spell Mage which wins because it just sort of has a strong card for every occasion goes away when a different deck's average card becomes better.
Not only is it bad they didn't nerf pot of greed, but its going to be in rotation for 2 years
ontop of that devolving missles is going to be in the meta for the rest of the year as well.
It just feels like they gave so many "yEaH yOu cAn'T pLaY gAmE" cards to them
The whole Game is like a pain in the ass, literally every Matchup is super annoying.
I can mostly agree with that, it just feels bad to play 80% of the games

Yeah! Nerf that tier 2-3 deck more! Nerf it to unplayability because it won't let me win on autopilot!

I think hitting devolving missiles, hysteria and cascading disaster would be pretty good for the game's health on the whole.

*looks at freeze mage, turtle mage, secret mage, dk jaina grinder mage, tempo mage*
Uh yeah...mage is going to be annoying, I guess.
Such whiny babies lol
In fairness, priest is only annoying because that is literally the only win condition the devs have allowed.
That's the problem with Hearthstone in general now. Way too many anti fun cards that are just a slog to play against.

the problem is the discover mechanic that became so popular and devs running out of creative ideas, it's difficult..
just frustrating if you see somebody discovering the right counter with the 3 options ..
Yeah, be proud of playing Standard, the Mode That 85 % of the community plays to get ripped of by blizz every year...
