Since the expansion, how many times do you think players have instantly conceded after an unfavorable Oh My Yogg resolves early? I feel like I see this occur on the reg, and I know for a fact I do it all the time.
This card is busted beyond belief. Might as well just start a "post your worst Oh My Yogg experience" thread.
I normally decide which spell I'd rather get countered and do my best to play around it so that I don't run into situations where a poor decision made by me results in an immediate lost game and a forum post.

Yes, but sometimes with certain board states and when you only have certain cards in hand and so many options...there is no counter play. Sometimes, you just have to make a play and say "well if its oh my yogg what can I do?"
Not everything can be played around every single time.
I would say that this is annoying, but it's usually manageable, unless you're way behind and you have no small spell to test with and your board clear gets countered. I've never insta-conceded after getting Yogg'd.
I think more often than not, the spell it turns into has done something still somewhat good for me.
Like that time I played Wildfire and it got transformed into Shadowform.
I mean, oops..?? now I just look heckin' cool for the rest of the game? Shoot!
Why everyone is mad about Oh My Yogg ? Everytime I play it it turns out in the favor of my opponent, even if they don't try to play around it.
Counterspell is good secret, staple in most secret mage decks, and Oh My Yogg! does essentially the same thing for 1 mana, and can be cheated out as well.
As mentioned, the good outcomes are pretty rare. I hit Preparation once, which was nice, but it is usually a whiff or damage to your own stuff.
I'd say 50% the time it turns into something favorable, 25% it sucks for em and the other 25% the spell just fizzles. Not too crazy I'm just always on the edge of my seat because it's funny.
I don't concede against Oh My Yogg!. It just doesn't feel like a good thing to do. I usually just test with smaller spells or I'll try and think about what my spell could turn in to. It depends on my situation, really. If I still have the coin, I'll throw the coin out. It usually works in my favor. The same can go with higher cost spells. I don't see Oh My Yogg! as annoying or hard to play against. You just have to pick and choose your battles. Don't just throw out any spell, instead, take some time and think about your play. That doesn't mean rope every turn, but if you know your opponent is playing secrets, there's a high chance they'll have Oh My Yogg! and that means you just have to think about what to do. If you know they've already cast 2 Oh My Yogg!'s then you don't have to worry.
Here is my latest scenario. He has a turn 1 random 1 drop from the 0 cast spell that MUST be dealt with this turn, otherwise it will get a hand of adal and its gg. The only play i have on 2 mana with coin in hand, is to play Kolkar Pack Runner, coin, arcane shot. It's THE only play. If i just play Pack runner...it dies to Adal...gg. If I just play Arcane Shot...not using mana efficiently and likely gg. So... I go with Pack Runner, coin...
Oh My Yogg resolves...its a Shadowstep. Counters my spell. leaves me with no minion and not even enough mana to play Arcane Shot. GG Concede. Oh My Yogg is busted. Paladin in general is busted right now as seen by its Win Rate. There are just way too many efficient early game plays from Paladin right now that simply cant be dealt with by a vast majority of classes. Anyone not using Paladin to climb ladder right now is a fool.
Meh it’s been a coin flip for me lately, this weekend it ruined a lethal chance on my DH which cost me the game and later on the same day it gave my warrior aoe spell which let me help clear the board late game and cause the paladin to give up cause he didn’t have anything else to push with.
I had just a game yesterday where I played against a lock and he tried to soul shear divine shield off something of mine, and it turned into immolation aura, killing 3 other minions while also clearing the divine shield as intended.
Yeah, sometimes their 4 mana spell becomes blessing of kings for your minion, but other times it’s cascading disaster or rancor.
Oh My Yogg! Is definitely not as reliable as counterspell, and it’s always hilarious when people argue that it is.
It may be closer to 50/50 in Arena where decks are not synergistic. But in a constructed deck, it's a very strong card. You are throwing a wrench into their plan. Sure, maybe that token Druid still gets a decent outcome, but it won't be as nice as the power of the wild buff he wanted.
When you combine that with all the secrete synergy in paladin, of course it's a strong card. It may be the 3rd strongest 1-cost spell in the game right now after devolving missiles and avenge.

TL;DR Just play around it
Saved me the time if writing basically the same thing haha.
I don't mind it, I can see why people would feel a bit mehhh about it in the sense that you have to trigger it really. With avenge I've been able to pressure board and force them to trade, so I can just stop it going off, at least for a bit.
If you don't have any spells you're OK with just chucking out there then it's a bit harder I guess but then that's a deck problem more than an OMY problem. I've used decks where I've been in that position and sometimes I've just had to go "screw it" and throw out my 4 mana spell. You can't play around and counter absolutely everything, sometimes you're just cornered.
The problem with oh my yogg, counterspell, tickatus, etc, is that you can't just decide to play around them, you have to play specific decks that CAN play around them. Disruption cards are the ones that literally force the "rock paper scissors" meta instead of letting it happen in a more organic way.
Against oh my yogg and CS, you have to play cheap spells, you can't play a deck that plays only big spells and relies on them.
I honestly like Hearthstone a lot more when there is a lack of disruption instead of an abundance of it, and it once was an actual design philosophy, they did not want disruption to ever feel overwhelming and easy to use. Back in beta Illidan was a 7 mana 7/7 that draws and burns 3 cards for both players. They destroyed that card because it was so unfun to play against. And now they print Tickatus.
Oh my yogg and CS are even more disruptive than they should ever be, due to the mage and paladins ability to tutor and cheat out secrets.
Before they printed Sword of the Fallen and heavily improved the random card pool with the core set, Oh My Yogg! wasn't an issue, there was a real cost to playing such a low impact card, now you are very likely to hit yourself or your minions with a powerful spell very early on when you don't have much mana to spare. Similarly, I don't remember Counterspell being an issue for anyone before Blizzard decided to push mage secret synergy every single year.
I once hated priest and rogue for their ability to steal or copy my cards, I thought this was the worst kind of disruption, but I now realize, it is much less frustrating and much more manageable than just watching my cards burn or disappear.
I still hate Archbishop Benedictus though, it's like a reverse Tickatus on steroids it's the most unfair card they've ever printed. And this is my last issue with disruption cards. Even when they are weak and insignificant standalone cards, they are still strong enough to polarize any meta and give more incentive to play aggro and cheap cards in general, in a game that is naturally designed for aggro decks.
Greed needs some love. I don't need massive board swings, infinite value, "win the game if you do that", or anti-fatigue tools, just give me the ability to play big fair cards and not be punished for it, instead of giving me ridiculously high impact late game cards that MUST be disrupted to keep the meta balanced.
Essentially, stop powecreeping the game and printing unfair cards as a justification for disruption. The game right now needs a Tickatus in every rotation, it would just break instantly without powerful disruption and that is just sad.
Here is my latest scenario. He has a turn 1 random 1 drop from the 0 cast spell that MUST be dealt with this turn, otherwise it will get a hand of adal and its gg. Something doesn’t add up here.
So the pally is on the play and you are on the draw (you have the coin).
T1 is First Day of School and the 1 drop for the pally.
Your T1 is nothing?
T2 for the pally is Oh My Yogg + pass, instead of Hand of Adal?
Your T2 is Kolkar + Coin + Arcane Shot because you need the 4 damage (Arcane + 2x Hyena) to kill the 1 drop?
If that was the sequence, then why expect Hand of Adal if it wasn’t played on T2? Was the 1 drop the priest 1/4? If not, why play Kolkar first instead of Coin? That would give one less target for minion spells and you could still drop the Kolkar after.
So yeah, probably misread the situation and misplayed your turn.
As it is now, it's a 1-cost Counterspell and it's busted for that reason. 1/10 cases you get a decent result.
It's actually a lot worse. Unlike Counterspell, Oh My Yogg can turn your spell into negative spells.
For example, if you want to deal damage to a minion, Oh My Yogg can turn your damaging spell into buff spells, and if it happens, you're absolutely screwed.
This thing is a mistake for 1 Mana.

Oh my Yogg saved my ass exterminating two own minions instead of the original spell.
Yogg is love.
The only downside is the must of having the counterable spell.

Counterspell is meant to be affective in mid/late game, but in early game Oh My Yogg! can me much more impactful than counterspell.
I conceded many times when oh my yogg made my AOE a buff for my opponent's minion.

Omy is simply too powerful for 1 mana.
I think pally would still play it at 3 mana and be happy. They would certainly pay 2.
It is great when you have the opportunity to play around it, but you often cant.
If nothing else they could give the spell intelligent targeting like that mage prime does. Not much of a nerf, but maybe enough.
