Hello guys, I'm looking to buy some packs and I'm torn up between the Darkmoon races bundle and the limited Crossroads package. My collection is very limited, I have about 40 to 50 cards from the recent expantions, most of them are rares and commons with few exceptions. I have almost none of the cards from the Races bundle besides few commons and Keywarden Ivory. I'm a free to play player mostly so I buy very seldom, what bundle would you reccomend me to get? The only deck I have right now is DoL mage (I played a lot of spell mage back in Ashes and got DoL as a guaranteed ledendary from the first 10 packs of Darkmoon).
It depends a bit to the extent of your collection. If you don't even have all the commons from the last year's expansions then 5 packs per expansion will give you quite a few useful cards most of the time. Darkmoon races has quite a few useful commons and rares that see a lot of play (Hysteria, Crabrider, Arbor Up, Illidari Studies to name a few), but the problem is that the legendaries kind of suck. Envoy Rustwix is decent, but not really used anywhere at the moment and the rest are very mediocre. The bundle will give you 2 random Barrens legendaries for free (and on average you should find one more in the 20 packs). Now you might low-roll and get some bad ones. But out of the 23 legendaries (excluding Mankrik and Voljin that we all get for free), 6-7 are what I would call must-haves (Kazakus, Samuro, Tamsin, Xyrella, Rokara, Barak Kodobane) and another 10-11 are at least promising with a lot of future potential
Honestly I didn't even want to reply to that posts, it's just seems bizarre to me, that from my post the only piece of information that caught the eye was about wether or not I was FtP.
With the mini set, you know exactly what you are getting, but the key cards in the meta at present are not the legendaries and you could likely dust Crab riders etc easily.
The opportunity to get 2 barrens legendaries which if you get good ones will last you nearly 2 years of play is much better, and as stated you should really be getting at least 1 more legendary and probably a bit of dust to craft a few other cards you want to finish off a deck.
He said free to play MOSTLY. Do you not understand what mostly means? He's implying that he doesn't often spend money on the game and needs help deciding how to get most value out of it. If you're not going to offer advice why even bother replying at all?
@OP Maybe you can theorycraft some decks with the cards in the Darkmoon races bundle and see if you have any synergies you want to try with the cards you already have. If not, the crossroads bundle is probably better because you get more cards for your money with two legendaries you may be able to build some decks around.
I had the same dilemma a few days ago. Imo crossroads bundle, just because of the power creep. 2 guarenteed random new legs is very good value. You also get spread out some older cards from the previous sets, which can be helpful if you still lack older cards like me.
Darkmoon races bundle is good, but it’s not a meta defining package that’s a MUST HAVE per se. You’ll get 4 usable but not game breaking legendaries. The crossroads pack has the random pack opening fudge factor but it’s 2 guaranteed legendaries and some variety which sounds potentially more helpful for a well rounded collection. Ask yourself if you’re more likely to put the races bundle to immediate work, or if a random collection of a broad assortment of cards is more likely to help and act accordingly.
Also, unrelated to OP, can you F2P purist nerds get over yourselves? Sound like nerd Knights of frugality bragging over something that literally no one except you cares about as if it’s a worthy cause. GTFO here you cheap grifters.
Smythe is not that great I think. Scabs is not seeing play right now, but he is a good card and his time will come. Can you still disenchant Jandice for the full 1600 dust? If yes then that's a sweet deal (means you can re-craft her effectively for free in the future if you want)

That's realy handy advice, I shoud do it for sure

I would also agree with SirJohn.

So I went and bought the Crossroads bundle and it worked out quite well:
2 legs were Scabs and Smythy which are okay I guess
but the real deal was in the 20 packs, I got Jandice, golden Lothraxion and a lot of other cards, I dusted only 17 commons in the end.
I was buying Scholomance packs for a while so I was pretty close to 20, so I got the average amount of legs. Thank you guys for your advice!
