I just came to the conclusion on that, its not that few classes become too powerful, its that, all other classes don't become as powerful.
Basically if Mage becomes op and other classes are left to struggle, i think blizzard should enforce and make other classes as power as the mage and not weak as the other classes.
They should do more buffing and add few new cards between expansions to power up classes weaknesses, rather then printing useless and weak cards to make the classes "balanced".

Unchecked Power Creep is not something that should be encouraged...
There will always be undiscovered card combinations.
But there should be a good variety that upholds the classes to good standard, its usually only 3 classes per expansion that actually succeed.
Yeah, and that's sadly on purpose (but I'm used to it :P).
