Sinse the nerf i have playing non-stop with a couple of builds of Spell priest, control priest and corrupt priest. The number of mage matchups not change at all. The reason? the deck seems indifferent to the nerf. This may not suprise nobody because they dont really touch the effect of the card and this is one of those cards that it really dont matter when it comes to play unless you will lose the game if you play the card in that same turn: which is not happening on turn 4.
The matchup against aggro become worse? yeah but Spell mage was losing that match already, face DH, aggro hunter and Doom hammer shaman, all this decks win pretty often against Spell-mage or atleast that is what i imagine sinse there is not enough freeze spells to stop any of this decks in rotation. But Midrange, Tempo, Combo and Control decks cant do anything to punish Lunacy on 4. The game will procede as the same: they will draw 4 cards for 0 mana (sometimes more if they reduce the cost of Water) and depending of the spells they get and the 6 or more free minions the generate the match will be over for the other player. It is impossible to win this matchup? nope but is pretty unlikely that you will win consistenly against a deck that generate random high cost spells that can be played for half their mana cost (and sometimes even less).
I really hope the Devs understand that this deck is just unhealthy for the game. The ladder will remain the same: aggro tier 2 decks, paladin, mage and rogue in the last spot. In all my years playing HS i cant remember a card that feels so opressive for so many archtypes sise DH Druid and Cubelock. And...this honestly feels even worse because is not a linear combo is just...get destroyed by RNG but your opponent has too little chances to get a "bad roll" of spells in all the matches.
Well, Priest is quite doomed not only due to Mage being resilient to nerfs but to popularity of Warlock as well.
Its not the point. As i said there is not any tempo deck doing fairly well against Mage right now. Like the Warlock matchup is irrelevant for the topic. Mage is the main reason why everyone change to hyper aggro this last week and even so the deck keeps doing good enough. I dont know exactly what deck is most played between Paladin or Mage but the numbers of streamers and my personal experience tells me that EVEN when Paladin is technically better than mage paladin sees less play than mage right now. In fact i face too little warlocks that i can totally auto-concede to warlocks and that wont change my winrate. What actually increases my winrate is not get paired with Mage 3 matches in a row. Every time that happens i get winstreak of 2 or 3 (not like i am winnig EVERY match against aggro, its aggro, sometimes aggro just rush you down) which is kinda crazy i am losing less matches to hyper aggro and Paladin than Mage.
I liked deck of lunecy back then when it was fun wishing u get good cards and surprise your opponent but now it generate most of the time same cards tbh i just faced mage now but ( i play warlock ) and they played lunacy on Turn 4 tbh it was kinda ok for me cause at turn 7 with a coin i managed to clear board and tictus and you know the rest but yeah i kinda feel it didnt do anything new except delaying it two turns but warlock has loads of removal and heals but other control dont and yeah i feel the ladder is still the same paladin and mage which suck deck is not actually funny dont know why people play it i had it and played it two times then its boring its not a fun deck anymore

The problem is mage spells in general. Fireball is crazy, 6 dmg for 4 mana, compare it to the similar rare spell of Warrior where you have crazy condition to do 6 dmg for 4.
Counterspell usually causes auto lose, but fortunatelly spell mage doesn't have minions for counterspell to be that relevant.
But they have more cheap face damage. 5 dmg for 5 mana create 5 mana minion, lol. Janice who was nerfed do similar effect and it is legendary card, but there you have a chance to clear it next round.
7 mana deal 10 dmg is ridiculous. On top of that the generated spells usually contains that 4x3/5 minions going face.
Yeah, the deck is broken. Whole game is broken. I have just tried Paladins and didnt feel any weakening there.

I am pretty sure that the team dont expect that the limited card pull turn mages cards into insane value and yeah i agree Lunacy is not the only problem. In my opinion there is a lot of problems in mage right now like the fact that most of their spell damage cards that generate other cards can hit the face (for not reason at all). That makes the lunacy value extra powerfull because you get cards like Apexis Blast and you dont even need to think twice 5 damage to face and 5 cost minion. Fond of power has a lot of chances of hit spell damage minions and legendary cards like Solarian or Mosaki, cards that you need to answer or the snowball will beat you. Runed Orb is another premium card in the deck.
For 2 mana you dealt 2 or more damage to face and you get an spell...like that is pretty...what the heck? There is just too much damage and value in 1 card. And all those cards were balanced around the fact that a lot of minions and spells were "bad" or "not great" or "not that agro" but right now that is not true anymore.

Exactly thing. The discover and minion pools are WAY too good atm, along with the fact that the deck has damage out of the ass, which makes it hard to keep anything on the board.
Also what did they expect from pally? Libram was already a tier 1 deck without penflinger. Now, I've got ways to make my board sticky, and a way to tutor out Lady Liadrin.

Well maybe the community should have complained about no-minion mage instead of Lunacy specifically, people got what they wanted. Everyone was crying about Lunacy, multiple threads every single day, i didn't see anyone talk about Font of Power or Apexis Blast, barely a couple complaints about Incanter's Flow, now all of a sudden Lunacy wasn't the only problem, well of course, it's just the alternate win condition of a very powerful deck, what did you expect, that this was gonna kill mages ?
Of course immediately after a nerf people already have new nerf targets in mind, it's endless. You'd need to nerf about 20 cards to significantly impact mage winrate, they would be good even without the no-minion package, this is not the way.
They said they are going to buff cards soon, and there is also the mini-set coming, let's just see what happens and put the nerf hammer down for a moment.

My dear i dont remember said that i was playing ONLY hyper control priest. I am corrently playing a version fo the deck that can afford and usually puts a lot of presure in the first 6 turns with minions that generate spells, going for early game dragons and cloning spells. I am not playin "press the hero power and end turn" - That said i dont need to prove you nothing and EVERYONE knows that Priest is not the only class that is hurt by this situation. Warrior seems play? nope, a class that get a LOT of midgame minions, and have even more tools to curve the game than Priest is played even less than priest. Why? because warrior players love to press hero power and end turn too? Nope is not because of that.
Its because playing for tempo is almost impossible right now. Playing for value is not rewarded in this class neither. So if you only argument to tell me that is nothing wrong with the meta is: lol you play priest i hope you never get a good deck forever. You are in fact just crazy and salty. How exactly? i said "yeah the aggro matchup is maybe worse but that was nothing new. Everyone knows why Demon Hunter face become a thing the last week and hunter make a little return. I am not saying that the nerf dont make any different but that overall and the decks that were opressed by this archtype are still totally negate by the card. Because yeah Apexis Blast is other card, and Font of power is other card and the Orb is other card but the ONLY reason why mage can play 4 apexis blast, 4 fireballs, etc...is this legendary card. Why people dont cut the card from the deck? it would be more consistent right? wrong. Spell-mage with limited amount of burst and not hyper RNG is not as strong to lock the ladder as right now.
This sounds Dishonest to you? - I am a control player yada yada you can blame me for that as much as you want but i understand this game as well as any card game. That is why i dont complain about cards like Tickatus or the Warlock matchup. I dont care if i lose to a deck that should beat mine for solid reasons. I dont card is a card designed to counter value and combos works as intended. My problem is about this card that transforms a deck into a direct damage machine gun with almost not weakness other than "rush it down but if you fail dont complain" with big layers of RNG on its favor. That is not just mine opinion even Blizzard addresses that they never wanted this outcome for the deck.

I've seen this kind of nonsense too many times already. Even if they don't expect it, hiring some good quality testers has never been a problem for such a big company. It's impossible for such a thing to go under the radar, because Hearthstone is a very simple and straightforward card game, but I'm not here to complain about it. As I said before, I'm tired, so I just play the game casually.
