Yeah, so, I just completed my Rokara BoM yesterday and opened a Warrior pack (which turned out to be a Barrens pack because I already have every common from the Year of the Phoenix), and opened a copy of Bulk Up. However, looking through my collection today, I've come to notice that I have a total of THREE copies of this card while still not having a SINGLE copy of MANY other commons, such as Lushwater Scout. Is this a know bug? Because it seems like a pretty serious one, what if someone got a dupe legendary from the BoM pack?
i dont even get this system now,i just checked my wild legendaries,i have a lot of 3 copy one,one is golden and cant be disenchanted, same with 1 regular one,1 is dustable...every mode has a different legendary,or can i use it in standard if i dust it?
its only for legendaries lol. some commons I have 40 copies of
No, duplicate protection is supposed to work for every rarity, in fact, it worked for me for the past 3 expansions (and this one too, until I opened the BoM packs). You think it only works for legendaries because it's difficult to get all of them, but the fact that you have 40 copies a common means that you've already got every single common.

The uncraftable ones are from the Core Set, you can use them for the next year and then they are replaced with a different set. If you dust your other copy you won’t have any next year.
Top the topic: Did you owned Bulk Up once and disenchanted it? If yes the system still counts it as owned.
Or maybe dup prorection does not work with class packs?
I think it's the latter, I don't dust new cards until the first couple nerfs are announced. These packs most likely have their own timer, but it's still weird for it to happen.
I'll put my tin foil hat on now: it's possible that this specific pack was guaranteed to have 4 commons and a rare, and since I completed my commons in the same pack, it didn't know what to do, so instead of giving me a missing rare/epic/legendary it just gave me another common, because that's what was supposed to happen from the start, even though it messes with the whole dupe thing.

How did you check? Did you search for missing? Because that doesn’t show both normal and golden versions.

I checked both manually and by keyword (extra and missing), and the only instance of an extra card was Bulk Up while several others (mostly neutrals) showed up in missing. The only Barrens card I have in golden is a rare, being it Razorfen Beastmaster.

Lushwater Scout seems like an odd example, since it's not to be expected in a warrior pack as a neutral card, isn't it? Are you missing any warrior commons?

Now you are mixing things up. Completing one rarity doesn’t mean you will only get other rarities. After completing commons, you will see random commons, etc.
What shouldn’t happen is that you receive a third common before you collected all other commons at least twice (where collected means owned at some point as already discussed).
While the class packs could be bugged, duplicate protection shouldn’t be tied to the pack itself but your collection.

It's because it was a Warrior Pack - you must have two copies of all other standard Warrior cards, so therefore it could only offer you a 3rd copy of a card, in this case Bulk Up
You expected to open neutral cards from a warrior pack? I won't judge you, i thought the same when i opened my warrior packs at the beginning of the expansion. /sad

Ah of course, that’s probably it.
That could be the case, like I said, I got all my missing Warrior commons in the same pack as the weird 3rd copy of Bulk Up, I was missing exactly two copies of Whirling Combatant and one of Stonemaul Anchorman. Still, it's a weird logic, you wouldn't expect for this to happen given the duplicate rules, that's why I mentioned getting a card of another rarity to replace the extra common, it seems that these class packs can't read your collection the same way normal packs do, and thus, don't know what to prioritize, the 'set' timer (Warrior packs only grant Warior cards, so even if it tried it couldn't give me a non-duped common) or the duplicate rules. It's only a common, but I still think they should've thought this through, but I guess my case was an extraordinary one to begin with.
I understand what happened now, class packs count as their own 'set' despite sharing cards with the current expansion/year, so the system will read that I already have all common cards of that 'set', thank you all who tried to help.

I'm not sure what you mean here.
I'm assuming the rarities in a pack are decided first in the calculation of what cards are in a pack, for all kinds of packs. Given this, and assuming the warrior pack contains only Standard cards, it's simple:
Your Warrior pack contained 4 warrior commons and 1 warrior rare. There were 3 warrior commons that you did not already own. You received them. So the 4th common was a random warrior common from any standard set. It happened to be a bulk up.
I think most of us missed it at first because of the way you said it turned out to be a barrens pack that you expected to contain a neutral.

OFC Duplicate prorection IS for all cards not only for legendaries!

april 1st
I would imagine that this is to do with the free core set.
Also I think duplicate protection doesn’t link between golden and non-golden. I could wrong.
Small bug mate, no worries, Blizzard is working hard on solving the matter. A workaround is purchasing more packs until you fill out your collection.
Good luck!
