There is no real motivation to do more than daily quests to me. Sure, if I play a couple of hours I might get 50 gold with which I can buy a pack that probably has nothing in it but I will never try to grind for this. Additionally, the game gets a bit stale after an expansion when you only get one pack per week.
Exactly. I tried to play casual to avoid netdecking tryhards, but after the first game against Murloc Priest (!) I gave up. I personally love deckbuilding, creating a list of my own and then experimenting with it, making changes, seeing its weaknesses and strenghts. That is my favorite way to play online card games. However, now it is impossible in Hearthstone (not only in standard really, wild is the same), since every time I try to actually make some logical plays I get smashed with some unbelievable RNG, Secrets making my cards not matter at all or just generally unfair plays like Druid building a full board on turn 1 or Rogue with a 10 attack weapon on turn 4. Spell Mage and Secret Paladin are just the tip of the iceberg. I love Hearthstone as I have been a part of its community all the way since open beta, but the direction the developers have chosen is slowly reducing fun in playing the game with every year.
I'm a Wild player and the meta's been great the last couple days.... and that's the reason. There's so much more new stuff going on that I simply don't want to play old decks, but I also don't have that many new cards to experiment with. The closest I got was a Deathrattle DH deck that is fairly enjoyable, but only because I just needed a couple new commons and rares.

How can you put those two things in the same sentence?
I think you are missing a key one - lack of meta diversity.
Ofc, some decks will always be frustrating to play against (and what one player views as frustrating is not necessarily the same for another). This isn't so much a problem if the meta is diverse. A card game NEEDS variety in play styles to suit the diverse wants of the player base.
When 50-60% of my matchups are scam mage and paladin... that's when things are a problem for me. The reason I don't want to play is NOT bc the decks are frustrating to play against but rather the frustration is never-ending because they are the large majority of matchups. This is the same feels bad when evolve shaman was wrecking the meta.

Lmao now that I look at it, it does sound weird. Honestly though I was just so fed up with the lack of diversity in standard, queued in casual, waited around 2 minutes to find an opponent and then fought against some kind of meme murloc priest. I just want to play fun and fair games.
the game is very repetitive and boring... after the first 30 minutes it gets boring as hell.
matchmaking also destroys it for me. You should have included it as an option - Rock Paper Scissors ensures endless grinding no matter what deck you play and how good you are. Rng is also missing from the list, it’s like asking why don’t you play roulette and not having “ I don’t like gambling” as an option
I don't care if my opponents are boring and repetitive, because i'm not.
But there are too many things to build and do, and new content every 4 month, I'm missing out on so much stuff because of it. About 50% of every expansion I don't have time to experiment with.
I also stopped playing PVE content because of it, too many fun decks sitting in front of me, waiting for me to click and launch a game or two.

Dude you don't want to face meta decks, you don't want to face meme/homebrew decks, what do you want ? What is a fun and fair game ? Let me guess, a favorable matchup against a T3 deck, so you still have the illusion of challenge ?

Well, maybe I was not clear enough in my original post. I do like playing against meta and homebrew decks alike, but I also like my plays to matter. How am supposed to have fun when I can't even play spells, because Counterspell and Oh My Yogg! exist? How am I supposed to have fun when my opponent plays Nagrand Slam on turn 7 with no way to counter it. If these plays were not problematic and irritating there wouldn't be so many people talking about it here, on reddit, twitter, youtube etc. Adressing your last sentence, I do want to play games where both me and my opponent have equal chances. After playing Hearthstone for all these years winning or losing really doesn't matter to me, but I don't like losing to something I simply have no possibilty to react to.
I don't have much free time, and even if I did I still have something like 200 games in my Steam library I've not even touched, a lot of which I really want to play. Playing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice right now, it's preeeeetty good.
I need time for my other activities, and even if I had more time to play, I wouldn't do more than daily missions and trying to climb up up to legend rank, after that the game starts to become boring to me, there is no actual reward climbing to rank 1 except feed up your own ego, which is a thing I don't care, just wanna have some fun
I only play arena or duels in order to complete missions or get extra gold when I get free ticket, otherwise I have neither time or patience to farm gold in arena/duels runs
battlegrounds were fun in beggining, but too much randomness kinda made me feel frustrated with this mode, and when I don't have fun, I stop

I want to help hearthstone developers by identifing correct priorities for their work.

Personaly I'm taking a break until all mages are nerfed into the ground. Losing is fine, but losing because of lunacy is just too annoying.
Too many decks, not enough time.

This poll is missing : TOO MUCH RNG

OTHER:
sometimes I get a 900 xp quest and I dont wanna complete that so that I can reroll it and maybe get lucky tomorrow :'D
Simple. Oh My Yogg! and Counterspell kills my enthusiasm for the game. It is simply too frustrating.
If frustration > enjoyment then I dont play.
