How do some of you break the 1K barrier? That's more than one pre-ordering bundle for each expansion, including all adventures! Makes my 250 EUR from the release of GVG look like nothing. I suppose for some spending is the hobby, while others it's to play the game.
It was a lot harder to have complete collections without the duplicate protection, in the early days I spent a lot of money just buying packs on top of pre-order bundles.
Nonetheless, breaking 1k is easy even if you've only played in the times of duplicate protection. It takes nearly $200 to get a full expansion worth of packs even allowing for a few crafted legendaries and epics. So less than two years of wanting a full non-golden collection takes you over 1k.
Having played since the beginning and liking golden cards leads to 5 digit discussions, not 4 digit.

Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
I've only started playing 'properly' again since the release of Ashes of Outland, and since then I've purchased the main bundle for each expansion, as well as the mini expansions, books of heroes bundles, plus a few of the additional bundles they release. As well as the Tavern pass. I don't ever buy non bundled card packs though.
My goal is to make sure I have a complete collection from all expansions from Ashes of Outland onwards, which is now much more achievable since the no dups rule.
All in all it's probably about $150 - $200 (Australian Dollars) per expansion. Which seems like a lot, but then again it's the game I play the most as well.
