Seriously if you’re not facing “hey loser” rogue it’s some stupid OTK deck or a warlock burning your deck away. Zero imagination on ladder right now. Never thought I’d miss the opening day aggro. Thus far this release has been pretty bad between the bugs and the obnoxious decks popping up already. At least aggro ends things quick one way or another. Seriously does no one experiment anymore? Or do they all just flock to the streamer decks now without even trying something of their own?
This has always been the case. Unless you managed to get yourself to a rank like low legend, or you stayed in gold 10 or so, people are going to play only what they see on streams.
Who cares about netdecking , in the end you come up with the exact same deck anyway ;)
It's all about calculating value , so after improving your home made deck you end up with the same cards anyway.
You people always whine and complain if 1 person makes a deck nobody else is allowed to use it , wich is never going to happen with this many players.
Besides theres also people like myself with a winners mentality , I enjoy winning. (Although I like using my brain aswell so I don't like Aggro decks eather)
In the end its also about the person who pilots the deck. I have been at the top of this game for many years. Playing battlegrounds now als high rated within a couple of months of learning. That requires skill aswell , so it's not like everyone you run into that netdecks is actually a good player ;) Maby you need to improve aswell instead of blaming everything else.
1. If you’re talking about ranked, there’s zero room to complain. It’s the competitive portion of the game, there’s a casual mode for a reason.
2. People need to get over net decking. It’s been around in every card game, ever, and always will be. Also, a streamer doing something on stream doesn’t give them exclusive rights to a deck. People always act like 99% of players’ control locks wouldn’t be 90% the same anyways. Most of the cards played are just obviously good in it.
What I want to know is what super original, highly creative decks are you playing, OP?
There are some clear archetypes and you can't just cry and scream netdeckers if someone is trying out burn warlock. That'd a perfectly reasonable deck to be trying day one and two of a new expansion which features.... Burn warlock.
Not everyone can just play the way that suits you perfectly, you aren't the center of the universe.

I think what people meant with "own" decks is that you put cards you find interesting together, that has some synergy but the deck is underwhelming, so don't end up with the same deck, because you play completely different cards.
Yes if you put together secret pally you end up with deck like on streams. But it isn't necessarily true, you still could find some cards work better for you then others. But most importantly is that people play only the strong cards, is it bad? No, it is Team5 mistake that take fuel decks that were already strong. Blood of Guun, Fair Play etc. Why add more to these stupid decks when 90% of other cards are unplayable or really underpowered.

A big part of the problem is the pre-release streams. Streamers find the decks and then people netdeck. If we all started from zero on release day, it would be much more fun. But, because of pre-release streams, players lose the fun of discovering the expansion.

No it wouldn't, none of the decks I've seen in any streams have been anything highly original. Most people can put together a hero power mage, secret paladin, control warlock, frenzy warrior etc. This is the same every expansion. People blame the pre stream for bomb warrior existing. What they really mean is they are butt hurt that other people got to play before them so they have a bias and prejudice against it and any excuse to moan about it or have a dig and they will do.
Some of those decks were user submitted, meaning people came up with it themselves.
These decks are no where near refined or what the meta will settle on, so they aren't high end decks that your average Joe simply can't come up with.
You're kidding yourself with this, I don't know if it makes you feel better or something? But it's complete shite. Plenty of people playing don't watch streamers, you'll most likely have played against people hwo haven't watched any of this type of content. I'll check a bit here and there on YouTube but that's it. The amount of people who actively watch hearthstone on twitch is absolutely tiny compared to the actual player base. There like, a few thousand people watching these things. It's hardly responsible for the decks that hundreds of thousands of people will be playing on day one.
They had something like 6 hours to try out the cards in an environment that isn't anything like regular ladder.
Which decks is it you think a streamer came out with that you couldn't have found on a number of sites such as this that people had theory crafted themselves? Go and look at decks people put together themselves on this site, before release and that have had barely any views. I'm sure you will find very similar decks to what you're seeing on ladder.
What deck on ladder has really taken you by surprise and you've been all "I had absolutely no idea this archetype could exist, it's purely because of those damn streamers, if it weren't for them, nobody would be playing secrets as a paladin, that's a totally original, streamer only idea!"
"players lose the fun". Don't be so condescending, you aren't designated speaker for the player base, I'm having a great time, thanks. You're the one that seems to be having difficulty because some people got to play for a few hours a few days ago haha.
I love the expansion release week, the ladder is so much fun, to try out new things.
BUT this expansion is different. I dont like any of the decks right now, it is just not fun for me. I dont like any of the archetypes. every deck I tried to play didnt feel powerful enough. I feel like every deck has 40% winrate, even though obviously thats not true :D it is hard to explain, but I hope you understand what I mean.
maybe hero power mage, but I dont have the legendary. dont know if I should craft it. does the deck have a solid winrate, or would you recommend it?

it's nothing to do with imagination, people have always played the most powerful thing and you see less and less variety the higher the rank you are. if you are concerned with the meta you can direct your disgruntlement at blizzard, they are the ones who decide the balance of things and create new cards. it's not a matter of people not experimenting, it's that everything is figured out extremely quickly and most of the experiments are too weak to take to ladder.

THIS. Is it fault of people for playing top tier decks? Well maybe partially, you still can play other decks. But who would want to lose every game just to be different. The fact that many cards are useless and strong decks are getting stronger is Team5 fault.

I’m all for competition... but I agree that it is just so unfun.
It’s just Rogue after Rogue for me. It’s a deck that’s almost impossible to play against with any other strategy than “I hope I draw my removal” and the other decks are the same.

But part of the problem is exactly this.
You say that it’s something you see as you climb the ladder, but this simply isn’t true. The matchmaking system is so busted now that you’ll be facing these decks at Bronze 10.

What deck(s) are you using?
A variety of slower decks. Don’t misunderstand, I’m not doing badly. I have a decent winrate. It just feels like my wins come when RNG is on my side, and I lose when it isn’t.

What do you mean secret palladin is the aggro deck. Like this deck is so aggresive at the start it is insane.
Remember the day1 Secret Paladin meta?
Or the quest rogue meta?
Or the Undertaker meta?
Or...

Libram Paladin is ez to play.

I find it as boring as all the previous expansions... same 5 decks again and again...
no surprise streamers take a couple of days pause from bgs and by the end of week 1 they all stream bgs again
Decks are fine. The things i miss in this expansion is any good anti-secret card. The ones we have right now are complete garbage.
