"Hey Loser" - he said throughout the battle, though battle did not adequately describe my lonesome purgatory. It was turn 6, but by now I had grown weary, helplessly watching as cards were drawn one after another and pens flew all around. As I bore wintess to the seemingly endless cycle of cards and resources (none of which appeared to cost mana) I thought "How long can this go on". I smirked briefly and remembered happier days when I longed to hear the words..."my jaws that bite, my claws that catch"....
On a more serious thought - what the fuck are blizzard thinking. They've given a class with stupendous card draw even more cheap card draw. It now has arguably one of the best 2 drops that also reduces the mana cost of cards in hand most of the time it's played. They have access to near endless pen flingers and if they choose to go the face route, excessive face damage from weapons and a bunch of minions that you cant interact with. It's day 2 of the expansion and I'm already fed up facing rogue after rogue. They have answers to pretty much everything and just when you think you've put them in a tough spot with a wide board, they pull a mage spell out the bag and waste you. It's super demoralising for any class which doesn't have card draw and inevitably makes a game against rogue either a loss (highly likely) or a win through fatigue.
I'm seriously doubting blizzard have any idea how to balance cards anymore (either that or they genuinely think that there is some way to consistently win with no card draw).
Woah. Not all of us rogue players play competitive decks. I enjoy my horrible shuffle rogue I standard. I hate the direction of turning rogue into a face class. I would rather see more burgle introduced personally.
"I'm one of the good rogues, i go face but with randomly generated things that is always the perfect answer to whatever you play, i hope you run weapon removal against my giant lifesteal weapon that they nerfed leeching poison for kingsbane for, but it's okay because apparently someone at blizzard thinks it's hard for rogue to generate random cards"

Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!
The disparity right now between the top 2-3 decks and everything else feels pretty otherworldly. It's like, if you're not playing Rogue, Pally, or maybe control lock, you might as well be playing a meme deck.

I'm assuming you're a wild player, because it's the only place where your comment is vaguely relevant right now.
Are you seriously crying about Spectral Cutlass/Burgle Rogue? The card/deck that hasn't been even in tier 3 for like, forever? One of the most 'just for fun' decks to ever exist? It seems like you were playing an even more meme-y, terrible deck.

I love you Dreadsteed, I will never disenchant you!
The problem is now we can’t discover anymore it’s either face or nothing for rogue I am one of the quest rogue that play with random cards. And now it pen flinger or bust is mage and priest that memes
Actually don’t find it to be that oppressive. Most aren’t playing the alex “otk” stuff, and against watch tower I find (if you’re playing control) that you can just board clear a bunch and they fatigue. If you’re playing aggro, you can just rush them down.
Watchtower rogue seems like a deck that does nothing while doing so much.
At the moment I am being glad if I matchmake against a rogue, they haven't any solid deck. They are being dangerous only if they high rolled by rng. Actually paladins and druids(celestial) are more frustrating right now.
Haven't been overly impressed with rogue's power level so far. I mean it's good, but not better than it used too, it's strength and weakness are the same. And I don't find pen flinger that oppressive in this new meta, maybe I've been lucky.
Weapon/Face rogue is insane against slow decks and bad against hyper aggro and token decks as usual.
Tempo/Secret rogue is okay against everything as usual.
Not sure what archetype the op is referring to exactly, rogue can pretty much shapeshift into one or the other with a couple changes in the deck, which is great.
And the class has so much viable card draw that they can't even fit everything into a deck, which give you good options for a variety of different decks. Would you rather be a shaman and rely on Malygos the Spellweaver for your aggro decks, or all your decks for that matter ?
I don't know if rogue is better than ever, but I do know it's more fun than ever to build rogue decks.
Efficient Octo-bot is a really bad card imo, the worst rogue card from this expansion. Like you said nothing costs mana in rogue decks. In hearthstone, 0 - 1 = 0. Extremely low impact card in most situations, bad top deck play, bad curve play, easy to play around. This won't stick in refined decks in my opinion.
One small concern for me is Wicked stab, 2 mana Fireballs for rogue, it's gonna cause problems at some point.
I not so sure about that, the stats is very good for the ability, almost nothing can deal 4 or more damage in turn 2 (majority of spells give 2 or 3 damage), it is almost certain the card will trigger the effect, maybe you right about hyper aggro but other deck can really use the discount.
Not to be a dismal voice of reason, but this is the pattern with Hearthstone. A class gets good, it gets overplayed, we suffer, we either work out a counter or it gets nerfed, rinse and repeat. By all means complain about it, but don't get too bent out of shape. It'll only last a while, then there'll be a new villain on the block.

The only rogue deck above 55% right now is Watch Post rogue.
There are pally decks with 70% winrate.
It's nowhere near as bad as you're trying to make it out to be.
I wholeheartedly agree with the topic name, even though I usually win against Rogues, at least since yesterday. It is so incredibly boring to play against. I hate Pen Flinger and think it's the most stupid card available in standard.
That being said, I feel like they don't have a plan at the moment, aside from hyper aggro decks. Yes, they can draw the entire deck, but felt like their only win con was to bore me to death with endless Flingers.

Well, somebody's gotta keep Paladin in check.

I think the Outpost Rogue is the most honest deck there. Classic midrange with value, not opressive and keeps the meta stable.
It's day 2 of an expansion - ofc rogue is going to be doing well. It always does when feeding on unrefined decks...
Until blizzard gives rogue defensive tools and healing - ofc the class is going to SMOrc. xD

Trust me, play control warrior, rancor is op vs rogue.

Efficient is sufficient.
Depends on how you filter the ranks
How long can this go on?
