I came back to Hearthstone very recently and haven't made that much progress in the rewards track. I'm currently level 42 and have 2 more weekly quests that need to be done. If I complete them, I'll reach 43, but a hefty amount of experience will be leftover. The EXP requirements are very high and the rewards are awful (200g for 5k experience) and I don't own a pass.
Will my remaining progress towards the next level go to waste? Should I leave my experience bar as close to 0 to prevent it? I've looked for any info about it on every Hearthstone site, but I couldn't find any statement regarding this. They talk about unclaimed rewards being automatically granted, but nothing about the leftover exp. is mentioned.
5k experience yields better rewards in the upcoming track than the current one, but I don't want to waste it. The game is already at a frustrating stage for many reasons; I cannot craft anything, I'm so behind on progression and I see that the Hearthstone team still lacks open communication and transparency.
Also, they did my boy Azure Drake dirty. Never forget, never forgive.
The track resets Tuesday, your XP is very unlikely to carry over but it could happen given that this is the first time this is happening. Not sure if the expansion will launch Tuesday 00:01 or sometime during the day, been too long since I played too, I will ask in another thread.
Anyway ideally you want to hit Tuesday with just having completed a level, as little excess XP as possible. But if possible you want to finish as many levels on the current track as you can. It is just the optimal thing to do. Now that you are active again you will finish the next track easily in about two months but what you miss on this track is lost forever. Given how inefficient post lvl 50 questing is there is absolutely no benefit to leaving unclaimed stuff on this track to get very deep into the next one. Since again you are pretty much guaranteed to hit level 50 on the next track just from quests.
