Just got the 20.0 update release today and apparently some new achievements came with it; especially under Progression titled Great Victory. If you happen to have achieved over 5000 combined wins in hearthstone Ranked matches, you will earn golden copies of core cards which releases on the 30th.
The curiosity i have is that it being a core set, from what I assessed already, is that the core cards are free and when the core set rotates, these cards will not be available for you in wild. You would have to craft the to keep them. I heard that the core set you cannot disenchant for dust nor can you craft more of until after the core rotates. If that is true, when it does rotate, that would be a large batch to craft just to keep your collection. Does this ring true for anyone or is this just speculation?
Secondly, with the Golden cards granted thru the Great Victory achievements, will these stay in the collection or be gone when the core set rotates?
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond!
Your Golden cards from the achievement will disappear on the next rotation of the core set as the normal cards will, but you will get the next core set in Golden as well. So the 5000 wins in Ranked grants you access to all neutral core set cards as Golden for the rest of your life on every core set in the future.
I am fine with the rent set. The non golden core cards are free and will be rotated out of your collection manager when the core set rotates in 2022 no longer in your collection if you didn't already open or craft it before the core was granted. That is known and had been discussed plenty.
There does seem to be alot of confusion and not really a concensus on what happens to the goldens granted thru the achievement. Plenty say you keep the cards permanently; plenty also say that those specific goldens will no longer get be available after the core rotates out.
I believe I am coming to the opinion that if you achieve the 5000 wins in the Great Victory achievement, you will be granted a golden version of all the core set and that this will be applied to all future core sets when they rotate in. You will lose the goldens when the current core set rotates out unless you specifically craft those cards before and/or after the rotation. If you have not already preopened or crafted those specific cards, they will not be available for you in wild.
